Not really that great an article from Strachan but it's not bad. It's already been decided that teams will not lose the rights to their unsigned 2003 draft picks.

I do like the idea of a lottery between the bottom five teams for 1-5, the next 5 teams for 6-10. I think it's completely unfair for playoff teams to have a shot at the #1 overall. Also don't like the idea of making the Caps (and possibly the Pens) ineligible for the #1 overall simply because they got Ovechkin and Malkin last year. Teams like Ottawa and Quebec ended up with 3 1st overalls in 4 years and no one was saying those guys should not be eligible to get it.

I agree playoff teams shouldn't have a shot at number 1 either, but if this is a lottery deal, why should the Caps or Pens get another shot at landing Crosby? I think that is unfair. Since it's been eons since the season ended last year, who would the bottom five be? I figure you can shoot me this right off the top of your head, Herc. Or I could Google it too, I suppose.

It's one thing if they earn the pick. Ok, this whole thing sucks.

'Yotes. I remember because they took Wheeler at #5 when he was rated as a late 1st/early 2nd.
