$30 for a 3 pack is ridiculous! they need to come down on the price!
I just bought a Sony DL DVD burner and it rocks, but the DVD+R DL discs are expensive!

They are expensive, and not as many players are compatible with these discs. I had considered putting some Bronco games on Dual layer discs, but I am sticking with 2 DVD+R's for one game (one half per disc). A dual layer discs actual size is 8.1GB whereas 2 dvd+r discs can hold 8.6GB. I don't mind having a game on 2 discs considering the discs are about $.40 each rather than $8.00 each for dual layer.

Dual layer will fall in price over the next year. All the DVD +/- R/RW drive manufacturers are coming out with dual layer burners now. I got my Pioneer for $79.00. The media is (right now) very difficult to manufacture in bulk because of limitations in the process. As soon as they have their process smoothed out you'll see a huge price drop-off. What really pisses me off is the price of the 8cm DVD-r media. A three pack of SONY 8cm DVD-r is almost as much as a three pack of DVD+r DL! I can understand them being a bit more expensive than their 4.7G (4.35G real size) counterparts like the 8cm CD-r media is but this is freakin' stupid!

I get all my CD-r DVD-r media from these two sources:
http://www.yesbuy.net/index.html
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cdrdvdrmedia/dvdrw.html

They have the best prices I've seen for media, period. Delivery times are good and they both offer free shipping. I use the Ritek media almost exclusively. Over 5,000 CD burns and 1,000 DVD burns and never a coaster that wasn't the fault of the hardware failing or stupid user errors. Ritek is the second largest producer of recordable media in the world. This is not to say that every disc manufactured by Ritek is perfect, as long as you stay with known name brands (TDK is a notable example, Ridata is Ritek's own name brand) you should be fine.

They're going to be expensive for a while to come yet. I use <a href="http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink31-main.htm">DVD Shrink</a> and <a href="http://www.dvddecrypter.com/">DVD Decrypter</a> to burn most anything on one disc and the quality is very good. Get most of my media (+/- Ritek) at <a href="http://tinyurl.com/6n98e">NewEgg</a>, Best Buy, or whoever has the sale at the time I need it.
