Well, I'm not a big Karl fan but he's won a lot of ball games. His lifetime record is something like 200 games over .500 and he's had 13 straight teams finish above .500.
That said, I'm hoping beyond hope that he took the job on the condition that Kiki goes out and gets him a shooter or two before the trade deadline.
He's the coach now, so I'm on board. Quid pro quo Dr. Lecter.

But my question is:
Why didn't he have a job?
No chance of landing Ray Allen anymore. You couldn't pay him enough to work with Karl.

Well, word is he probably will. Apparently, Seattle can't/won't offer him the money he wants. The nuggets can, and he even said he liked Denver, but the George Karl thing may have turned him off. I wouldn't be shocked to see him in LA, don't the Clippers have a ton of money they had saved for Kobe last summer?

I heard on the radio today here in LA that the Clippers have about 12-13 million to sign FA's...

Bingo.
That could be exactly what Kiki's banking on. Getting a trade done for Michael Redd isn't the tough part, getting assurance that you can sign him long term once this season is up is.
Karl makes Denver look a lot better to Redd, now it's up to Kiki to make it happen.

Not bad, now here's the rub........who are the FAs?
Last offseason was dissapointing dispite the Kenyon trade. Anderson, Berry, and bowen walking is hurting the team. Berry more than any of them. I would love to see birdman over Cisco.
And I miss my baseline chats with Bowen with him at the end of the bench.

Redd is the preliminary target. That said, it's my opinion that if we dont' trade for him, he won't come here. He's either going to re-sign with wherever he's traded or sign with the Cavs.

Perhaps, but in order to do that the Cavs will have some decisions to make. McInnis and Ilgauskas are both UFAs and both are key players in the Cavs rise to respectability (despite what ESPN wants people to believe, there's more than one player on the Cavs roster).
But I do agree that this isn't a time to sit back and see what happens. Kiki has to get Redd in here, sell him on the team & playing for George Karl and get him signed to an extension before he has a chance to bolt.
