Woah! Has anyone played this game? Tried it at EBX and I'm online ordering a Gamecube as we speak. I was a fan of the original series, but the franchise had been getting too "Japanessey" and quite stale lately. This new one is amazing and the voice acting is even GOOD. Gotta say guys, you like the horror action games, pick this one up.

Well after all it is a Japanese game.

I got it the day it came out and it's quite possibly the best game yet in the Resident Evil series (it ranks up there with Resident Evil 2, which had been my favorite up to this point). More weapons, new enemies and a totally different direction for the series.
There's no T-Virus, G-Virus or Umbrella Corporation behind this one. But there are some familiar faces and plenty of the things that people know and love about Resident Evil.
RE4 will be released for the PS2 sometime this summer, possibly in June. If you can't wait, get a Gamecube and have at it (I've got both, so I might end up with both if they add some nice features to it for the PS2 port).
I'd give it my highest recommendation.

I believe Nitendo received exclusive rights to this one.
And yes, best game ever. They fixed the issues with the control scheme and the weapon control is awesome.

I was wrong, make that the end of 2005 for the PS2 port of RE4. But it is coming to PS2.
Viewtiful Joe & Viewtful Joe 2 were supposed to be GC exclusives also, but it didn't happen that way.

Seems amazing.
Ign is having an orgasm over it ranking it calling it the best ever in the genre.

Just PS2? No X-Box?
I saw a commercial for RE4 the other day, and even though I was never a big fan of the games, it looked pretty bad ass.

It is an amazing game. I'd rate it a 9.8 out of 10. It's not perfect but it's damn close.
It may truly be the best game that Gamecube has ever had, which I'm hoping will be surpassed when the new Legend Of Zelda game is released this year.

New Zelda...
Man I wish I still had my Cube. I've been playing Zelda since the original NES.

My favorite games or, I mean my opinion on the best game for the Gamecube is both Metroid Prime, and Metriod Prime 2: Echoes...
I guess I have to go out and purchase RE4 sometime this week...after hearing all these recommendations...
RE4 is a fun game I got it and echoes at the same time I haven't even opened echoes yet...

Metroid Prime rocked... I've got Metroid Prime 2, but haven't broke the seal yet, as I got KOTOR II at the same time, and only like to play one game at a time. I'm looking forward to popping MP2 in though...

TJ...I've played Echoes...probably nonstop for a week or so when it was released back in October...If you've played Metroid before you know you have plenty of backtracking to do, well in this game, there are 2 different worlds Light and Dark, each room you enter has a light and dark side...Plenty of retracing steps, and problem solving...It was pretty hard in some areas but, honestly the first MP was better...Dont get me wrong, its an awesome game and has plenty of crazy stuff, the spider ball is the best, and a couple of the Bosses are hard especially the Spider Guardian, besides that, I wont ruin it for ya but, the Final Boss, is way easier to beat compared to last year when you face Metriod Prime at the end...Switching through your Beams struggling and stuff, anyway...When you do start playing MP2, good luck...there are plenty of times where you just have to walk away from the Cube and back off for a couple days...Thats what I kept doing...Some things turn out to be very stressful...

I never played either of the Viewtiful Joe's, but the people I've talked to who did really enjoyed them.
My son absolutely loves Metroid Prime & Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. I'm still attatched to the 2D side scrolling original Metroid, so I never got too deep into the new 3D versions. But my little guy adores them so I'm still plunking down the $$ for them. Like Tony Soprano said when his Mother died, "What are you gonna do?"
Unless I'm forgetting a title that's coming out sooner, my next must purchase game will be Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening. Loved the original, disappointed by the sequel, hoping for much better things out of part 3.
Of course Final Fantasy XII and Zelda are the ones that trump all with me, but neither has a release date as of yet.

ive logged over 30 hours on "Echoes" too many hours backrtacking for me. even my kids are bored at some of the bosses and backtracking. Still a good game tho.

I joined Gamefly this week. $14/month to have 1 game out at a time, but they've got pretty much whatever you're looking for. I have the Metal Gear coming Monday. I just have to pry myself away from Halo 2 first.
Heard good things about RE4 and, when I had my Cube, I loved me some Metroid and Viewtiful Joe.

RE4 is right up there. Tough to beat the Prime series, but I'd call it a neck and neck race. The new Zelda promises to exceed all.

The first one was one of the first games available for Playstation. It really showcased the machine and was one of the first really "spooky" games that really scared me. The next one was popular and so on, but then they started to degenerate. RE:4 has revitalized the serieswith different controls and combat so its smoother and easier to play. The story is good and they've moved away from their "Zombie" focus. It's just a great game.

The game truly gives a creepy feel of impending death. RE4 utilizes cell shading and other light techniques to create an eery environment while the music and "things" heard in the distance really work together to keep you trigger happy and on edge. I suggest surround sound and a dark room. And no children. I must have said OH #### (fill in whichever 4 letter word here, I used them all) a thousand times.

Never was that big on zelda. What I like is Rainbow 6, that's a cool game. Also like Age of Kings/Starcraft/etc. Also like DoD but my connection is to slow so I don't play it very much, but if I upgrade to DSL or cable I will.
I use to play Bond all the time as a freshmen/sophmore on my friends N64. We had a tournament my freshmen/sophmore year's in college and I won each time.

I remember TECMO BOWL well. Lost 7th and 8th grades to that one. HB off tackle left with Sammy Winder.....unstoppable, hit the open field and zig zag
