I just had something start today that only happens when I'm on the mane. About every 2 minutes I get a pop-up alert that reads:

The operation timed out when attempting to contact pagead2.googlesyndication.com.

How in the hell do I get rid of that? I've tried everything within my realm of knowledge, but nothing has worked.

What version of windows and what browser are you using?

I checked this out and have a solution for each browser.

For IE: Use Firefox
For Firefox: Get Adblock

Adblock prevents ads from showing up on a website. Someone else had entered your EXACT problem for Firefox but no one had responded to him on the forum so I could offer you no help. However, Adblock is an extension that can be found at www.texturizer.net and it MAY help your problem.

I did go to that site during my surfing, but also began to notice that I wasn't getting that pop-up alert any more while I was on the Mane, and it hasn't returned. It was like a 24-hour virus or something weird and just went away on it's own. I did nothing on my end that could have caused it to discontinue.

Nonetheless, thanks for the help. I have saved the link in case this should resurface, but I ultimately did nothing this time.

Stupid technology.
My recommendation for anyone having the same problem I had, and in fact for most technical issues, is to smoke a bowl, stick your head in the sand, and hope the problem just goes away. If it's still there after a week, then seek help.
