What a great thing.

Another thing also, me and him have kept this in PM's but it was too overwhelming for me not to share it with the Orange Mane community. As I stated here (http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showpost.php?p=508361&postcount=108) in the John Lynch fined thread (http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=21236), I would've loved to donate but I've hit a tough time with money lately and cold not spare anything. ClevelandBronco noticed my post, and PM'd me saying how much he understood my situation and said that he would be willing to make a donation in my name. So I sent the e-mail to the John Lynch foundation about it, PM'd him back and ClevelandBronco sent donations in both his and my names.

I still thank you a lot for that ClevelandBronco, and you should be recognized for your actions in this. I would just like to ask that everyone reps him at least once for making that kind offer to me, it's the least I can do :)

Very grand for the Lynch's to think to offer to double the funds collected and I love the fact it will be going to help the Tsunami victims.

I ask you is this the action of a dirty football player that needs to be pointed out by the NFL for close scrutiny by the officials instructed to watch for dirty play? I think not!

I must admit that I have slacked on this. But after reading you post DenFan I have decided to make a donation for both you and I.

You should have told me before man. Us Ohio boy's need to take car of each other!

Cool! Props to the Lynch foundation for matching our funds and sending them to the Tsunami relief fund. I know there were a couple critics around here who thought the money should have gone there instead of the Lynch foundation but in the end the money is going there anyway.

I'm proud to be a Broncos fan and to have a player like Lynch representing our city and organization. If only there were more players of Lynch's character in the NFL today.

Mile High Salute!

The guy is all class. In a world of Randy Moss' and Terrell Owens', it's nice to read things like this. Too bad the media passes on stories like this. Doesn't make for good copy I guess.

Thanks to John and Linda Lynch, and to all here that contibuted to this very worthy cause. Everyone's true colors came through on this.

I'm very glad to hear this. Little Girl Dog has been having bad dreams, what with all the media attention from the Indian Ocean region, and even was worried "bad things would happen to her toys if she died." I was going to talk to her about giving some money to the episcopal church's relief fund earmarked for these folks, but I'll go this way instead, since its earmarked, and I will assume Lynch's foundation has low overhead and will send the money to a reputable relief group. I'm a little nervous there, but the episcopals have been pissing me off a bit lately, anyway. (-: I hope they do the right thing with this money.

One question: when I call with the credit card, do I tell them I'm from the orangemane and want my donation to go to the Tusanami relief?

That is OUTSTANDING. He is a class-act all the way. Not only the monetary commitment, but also taking the time to put together a very nice, professional correspondence to this community. That letter yelled out CLASS. I thought he did two great things there, he gave respect to the fans and fan-base of the Orangemane, and he gave great respect to the cause. I feel proud to be a Broncos Fan knowing John Lynch and how he sets the standard and represents The Denver Broncos Football Organization.

Yes. You don't need to say you want your donation to go to the Tsunami relief. That's just a given at this point. They're keeping a tally of all monies sent in, and John is matching them.

Cool, we expect the first installment of the insurance/benefit money from my moms passing in the next 7-10 working days. I'd like to make a donation in her name when we get it. How long will we be doing this? Will we still be making contributions in a couple weeks? I guess I can donate to it whenever, but was really wanting to get in on the Tsunami relief and Lynch matching.

I put a check in the mail this past Monday. I wasn't sure if a PayPal was going to be established. Now I'm glad I included the note AKA as Orangemane.com's Tredici. Hopefully everyone who mailed a donation remembered to do the same.

After the relentless news stories of the last two weeks I couldn't be happier the funds will be directed towards The American Red Cross. I have a pretty deep suspicion of aid groups that spring up immediately following a disaster.

Excellent work from this community.

All I can say is wow. I had allready donated to the tsunami before knowing about this one. But it still goes to the same place hopefully.

And to the other people sending in donations in other peoples names......I'm not even sure what to say but great job. I only wish the people of the US could come together like this to help out our own citizens in this country. Not taking anything away from the tsunami victims, Lord knows they need help from everyone.

Great job Orangemane. I think this is a first for any type of message board.

Austrailia has donated 3 times the amount Bush has donated.

Private contributions are way more than what Bush has allocated for this. I guess all his money is allocated for Iraq.

DBroncos4life

So how much money are we getting for that mud slide we just had? Where are the donations coming from? They don't want us to be the world police but they look for us for help everytime something bad happens in the world. Why is this? The thing is I see the US doing above and behond what they have to do and we get critized for not doing it fast enough. Thats some nerve. Anyways I commend what everyone has done and what they continue to do for it. Its nice to see us come to the aid of the people that need it the most.

Disaster calls.

Other countries have poor people too. But they still donate too not matter how much they pay.
Just the way things roll.

Its not like we would have spent that money for the poor even even if we didnt donate.

When do they help us out though? I never hear anything abou others helping us when we have a disaster. I do think we should help out others but some countries should give us some help every now and then. Like I said the only problem I had with the whole thing is how they said we were not moving fast enough to get them aid. Colin Powell said it best. It takes time to move ships and to get food and medical supplies together.

Im not sure what kind of natural disaster we had that killed about 100,000(much more coming) people.I guess you could count 9/11 but that seemed to do more of a pride and moral damage. The recession did start but it wasnt anything that would have affected us long term. Im not sure how other countries could have helped. US has never really needed much help anyway.

Anyway I dont have really have a stance and dont want to have one.

But like tupac said Nobody likes you when you're at the top.

Oh I agree that was a disaster for the ages and I pray nothing happens like that again in my life time. But as I stated before I don't care for the way they acted towards us when they thought we were not doing things fast enough. Or the fact that US workers have to learn Canada lingo just to stay alive there.

So it only matters on how many people get killed? I don't think that is fair. How bout the millions and millions of dollars it will cost for repair in Florida and Alabama after all the huricanes hit one right after the other. Or like DBronco said, how about all of the mudslides in California. Even if something happend in the US where 50 to 100 thousand people died, do you really think all the other countries in the world would be doing what the US and it's citizens are doing to help? I would think not. I also don't think we would be screaming about some country not reacting fast enough if they did want to help.

Exactly.
The US is self sufficient enough to help themselves. I dont think anyone thinks we need help or wants to give us help. Im not sure how the countries that got hit with the tsunami can stand on their own.

And I dont know if the other countries will help us when something like that happens.

I am not saying its wrong or right but just a thought.

Like I said I think what everyone is doing during this time is great, I just had a problem with what they said. I don't think anyone should ever say what they said about how we reacted to this. I can't imagne what is going on over there and the people that are taking time off from their lives to go over there and help....wow. Really no words can make you feel how I feel about that. Anways I didn't mean to make this thread about that. Props to anyone that helped in anyway that they could.

Guess I don't come around as often as I should, so I missed the matching fund deadline of last Friday.
