****!!!

He only filed papers, and is waiting to think about it before he hires an agent, but his draft papers to declare draft eligible are in.

For those who aren't quite sure, Jason Allen plays FS for the Tennessee Volunteers. Aside from Kevin Burnett, Allen is another high-class leader that did everything he could make the Vols better. He was the only returning start in Tennessee's secondary this year, and after 2 years of playing CB(and doing a damn fine job at it I might add) he made the switch to FS to help the Vols as they had the CB depth but didnt have much safety help.

I may be a homer, but if he stays at safety, he'll be possibly the best one in the draft, Andre Maddox and Jamaal Brimmer both are up there as well. He's a good tackler and good coverage guy, he led the team in tackles actually, 112 I believe. Negatives are I've seen his lack of strength be exposed on more than one occasion, while he makes the tackle I've seen RB's be able to drag him a while before he takes them down, and his goalline play has been shaky as well.

Ballhawk who can tackle is my overall assessment of him, 2nd round if he does come out, but please...STAY ANOTHER YEAR JASON!!!

its my understanding from the Nate Webster situation that if you file the papers your in and its over, you cant go back. Are you sure he didnt just file for an opinon on where he is likely to go from the NFL advisory committee, as opposed to actually filing eligibility papers? If its the latter, there is no decision for him to make he cant go back.

UT's Allen files for NFL draft

Tennessee junior free safety Jason Allen has decided that he's ready for the NFL. Allen said last night that he's filed for early entry into the draft, although he's left himself a window to change his mind by waiting to sign with an agent.

Thats from the Tennesseean

thats good news for you DF. I guess he didnt file the type of papers that Nate Webster filed. Either way good for Tennessee and they need it because Kenny Phillips is jerking them around right now about "Tennessee being my co-leader".

We have the secondary with or without Phillips.
