VT is doing a good job stopping the run, Ronnie Browns broke a big run to start the game but Cadillac and Ronnie have both been silent since.

Auburn is going to have to widen their lead over VT to around 20 or a bit more to win the AP National Title assuming the Orange Bowl is close.

I am not saying he is going to be a good pro, but Campbell has improved as much as any player I have seen over the last couple of years. He has great poise this year that he did not have last year.

Those bastards could have made Auburn number 1 at anytime this year...and they didn't. It hink no matter what they do the NC is tomorrows winner.

ahh... but garcia, media writers love wreaking havoc, esp. with something they hate like the BCS. If Auburn wins by over 20, there is a better than 50 percent chance in my opinion if tomorrow's game is more or less a dead heat with the winner winning by 7 or less.

Nope, we would have gotten raped by this team. Against Florida, whose defense is clearly inferior to Auburn's we got shut down COLD but for 1 or 2 drives the entire game. We got a couple scores by good ST play. If Miami was getting 12 against Auburn i would still take Auburn if i was forced to bet. You guys are playing well on D for the most part. You started turning it on, on offense in the end of the half but u need some big plays here. Your the ACC Champion fair and square, no reason for Miami to have been in this game, and as i said, the way we played the whole season, we would have been raped by auburn.

Sports writers are FOS....it's more apparent now that we see them on TV. That anybody listens to them at all amazes me. The AP championship is a non-factor to me in anything.

was he a Jr. last year? wow. you might have been undefeated this year if he stayed. You guys had the USC game until the ref threw that flag. I think KJ would have had you in the Orange Bowl this year. I still think to win the orange bowl you wuold have needed a good WR also, perhaps if Wilford was a Jr. and stayed also but i think he was a Sr. There is a good RB recruit you got last year by the name of George Bell watch out for him in the future.

Only problem with that theory SoCal is that I think OU is going to destroy USC tomorrow. OU will win by more than two touchdowns anyway which will make Auburn's victory (likely to happen IMO) moot. OU will beat the best team in the land (defending national champs, unbeaten = still the best team theoretically) while Auburn defeated a lower ranked opponent. Even if it is by a large margin, it wont be large enough to overshadow OUs dominance tomorrow.
I hate the Sooners and all things Okie(sideburn, MHS, rascal excluded), but they are Big 12 and it is a title game so I will cheer for them. I too think Auburn should be ranked higher than USC but not higher than OU and think an OU/Auburn matchup would have been the better one HOWEVER I also believe that defending champs that go undefeated deserve to be ranked number 1. USC played SOME tough opponents and had to beat them to stay undefeated so I cant say the BCS is entirely wrong on it. This is why a playoff is a necessity in college football, because at the end of the year invariably there is more than just two teams that have a shot at being the best in the land. I will never be more than a casual fan of college FB because of no playoffs and that is the only reason that holds me back.

i hope you are right becaue i hate USC they have already stole 3 big time recruits from us in 2 years. I think it will be a close game, i think OU will win but i really think it is more of a tossup than any of the BCS title matches i have seen since 1998.

Ended up one hell of a game, Auburn folded late which gave VT a chance to win the game, but that D was just too tough and it was too late in the game for another shot.
Sucks for Auburn, no offense to VT, but the Tigers should be playing tonight in the Orange Bowl, the Hokies played their best and just fell short but I'll be damned if Auburn doesn't share the NC.

I liked Carlos Rogers going into last nights game....I came out wanting to take him to a dinner and a movie. I watched Auburn play a couple other games this year and noticed he liked to lay the wood to the ball carriers but damn that guy is nasty good. Considering the Chiefs desparate need for a CB if he is by chance available at 15(which I don't expect after last night) they need shot and strung up by the nut hooks if they don't draft him. He moved ahead of A.Rolle IMO.

So a fluke loss to NCS this year...
Lost to number 1 and and number 3...beat Miami on the road...and beat a tough UVA and Maryland squad. That's a tough schedule
Pretty good season. I'm proud of them.

You have every right to be proud. VT never quit. I thought they might after half time.
Do you guys with Virginia connections hear anything about Chris Canty's rehab? Last I heard was a couple of months ago and the word was that he would not be ready until at least mid season next year. Hope that is not the case.

Beamer grew up on a 70-acre farm in Fancy Gap, Va. In 1954, when he was seven years old, he used a push broom to help keep a pile of burning trash in place. When the job was done he returned the broom to the garage, unaware that its brushes were still smoldering. A spark ignited a can of nearby gasoline, which exploded in front of him. His 11-year old brother, Barrett, saved him by rolling him around on the ground, but Frank was left with burns on the right side of his neck, chest and his shoulders. Over the next few years he endured dozens of painful skin grafts and was left with permanent scarring.

I just got back from the game today. we had a great time at the game. OUR TIGERS DID IT!!!!
they finished undefeated and beat a good VA Tech team. the crowd was electric, especially the hokie crowd. we were sitting in the hokie section and there were a number of AU fans in our section and we were into it from the opening kickoff.
it was like i thought it would go. it was ugly and a defensive struggle. AU should have won by more, VA Tech came back at the last moments.
some of the Hokie fans were classless at the end of the game. when JC was downing the ball for the win, they were saying some pathetic stuff and should have ran plays. they must not know much about the game of football.
but for the most part, the Hokie fans were good sports and were a delight to chat w/ on Bourbon St.
As for the USC-Okl game tonite. they both deserve to be there and play for the BCS Natl Champ game, but you cant tell me that AU cant beat either of them on any given day.
AU is just as good as the two teams and there is no doubt about that. the season of my dreams. it was so more than about playing for the Championship, it was about a group of young men that beleived in each other and won every game. no championship can replace the memories and the victories, they may not me number 1 on the polls, but in my heart, they will always be number 1.
and they and the AU fans know they are just as good as USC and the Soonners.
