according to ESPNs Bill Curry. He said about 20 mins ago during the hawaii-mich. st. broadcast that ESPN is now projecting according to their knowledge of the formula, that Texas will get in instead of California.
what a crock.

It's going to be so close, nobody is going to know until it's final. This has been such a baffling year. All three major undefeateds deserve to play for the title (unlike last year when Oklahoma didn't deserve to be there) and normally Cal and Texas would have both gone were it not for that clause about non-BCS schools in the Top 6. And imagine if Notre Dame had somehow made it to the Top 12?
Every year, the BCS just proves what a screwed up and unfair system it really is.

The Rose Bowl will go to crap if its not Big Ten vs. Pac 10
Remember OU-Washington State couple years back? The worst Rose Bowl game of all-time.

Auburn is getting screwed! Auburn is the only team in history to go 12-0 in the SEC and not play for the national title. College needs a playoff. Auburn did everything they could. It's because they started out #17, while USC and OU were 1 and 2 all year. There was nothing more Auburn could do besides play the games on their schedule. They won their eight conference games by a margin of 18.9 points per game! They beat Tennessee twice, LSU, and Georgia. It's frustrating! ~Popps~

I was/am hoping for Cal. I would enjoy watching Michigan playing Cal then Texas. As a big fan of the Rose bowl in general as long as I can remember I really enjoy the Pac 10 vs Big 10 match ups.
I do think Texas will be an easier opponent then Cal though. ;)

No more unfair than how it used to be.....people forget why there is the statistical rankings.

Of the top three teams, Auburn is the only one to have played four games against opponents who have finished the season with at least nine wins (LSU, Georgia, and Tennessee twice), games Auburn won by an average of just over 13 points. All four were ranked in the top 15 at the time Auburn played them — three were in the top 10, by the way — another stat neither USC nor Oklahoma can match.
Auburn and USC will now have a common opponent, because USC opened the season beating Virginia Tech 24-13.
Hmmm, what if USC wins the Orange Bowl and Auburn routs VT...

Ou schedule a complete joke? You can only play whats in front of you. It's not 2 ranked teams...it's 4. Tech, Texass, Tamu, and Okie state were all ranked when they played.
What is hurting Auburn the most is that pathetic non con schedule. LA monroe, LA Lafeyette, and the Citadel? Come on thats pathetic and you know it. That is why they're behind. Because they played a ridiculous non con schedule.

That's true. Auburn played an easy non-conference schedule. However, there still needs to be a playoff. I think Auburn is the best team, and they should be able to prove it on the field.

Texas was ranked top ten....the joke is really on Texas there...because they didn't score a point
Well the OU conference schedule is a joke....and what's the difference between the LAL and bowling green?

One more comment on this....
Auburn made the mistake of scheduling easy non-conference opponents. But, that was in another year. This year, all the players could do was line up across the ball and play their best. They took care of business, and did it dominately. It's obvious college needs a playoff. Those Auburn players are proud of themselves. Auburn has never finished 12-0. They deserve a shot at the title, but so do OU and USC.

I think Auburn has the best team in the country. They are incredibly fast.

The Rose Bowl was crapped on the moment it joined the BCS family. They spit on tradition.

personally, as a Auburn fan, i'm not that upset w/ going to the Sugar Bowl. we have to realize you cant control the computers or the voters for the polls.
Its kinda of frustrating, because I feel Auburn can play w/ Oklahoma and USC. but that does nothing to diminish my happiness over winning the SEC, after 15 years of waiting since our last title.
The BCS is a joke and i knew that even if AU won out, they would be left out. but i cant stand when the people say Auburn played a soft schedule, sure, they played a soft non-conference schedule, but to win week in and week out in the SEC is tough. and they defeated 3 teams w/ 9 wins, and one of them twice.
and another thing about the schedule, our first opponent was going to be Bowling Green, but they dropped out cuz they wanted to play the Sooners. this happened awhile back. funny how things turn out.
as for Cal. they got screwed more than AU. Cal was one play away from being undefeated, and frankly, they should have defeated the Trojans if it wasnt for their special team defency that day.
Texas looks like they are going to the Rose Bowl. but it should be Cal-Michigan.

Cal needs to beat TT before they cry in their organic beer....which I don't think they will be able to do.
Despite the obvious shame in this system, one other huge disappointment I see is that undefeated Utah not getting paired against Auburn. If by some extremely slim chance Utah knocked the hell out of Auburn then we all would have gained a ton of respect for the Utes and they too would have a legit argument at the National title. It would have been an interesting match up nonetheless cause I think most of us always wonder where the mid major undefeated squads truly stack up against the powers.
Utah/Pitt and Auburn/VT are about as uninteresting as they could have put together.

Sep 11 vs Houston W, 63-13 yep..easy win here
Sep 18 vs Oregon W, 31-7 --at the time it looked good, but Oregon ended up sucking
Oct 2 vs Texas Tech W, 28-13 ---- solid team in the Holiday Bowl...they are ranked
Oct 9 vs Texas W, 12-0 --- BCS team..ranked
Oct 16 at Kansas State W, 31-21 ...... not a great team this year
Oct 23 vs Kansas W, 41-10 ....not a good team
Oct 30 at Oklahoma State W, 38-35 ...a solid team that is ranked
Nov 6 at Texas A&M W, 42-35 .....a solid team...and for anyone who has seen Texas A&M's homefiled advantage...a very solid win vs. a ranked team
Nov 13 vs Nebraska W, 30-3 -- yuck
Nov 20 at Baylor W, 35-0 --- yuck
Dec 4 vs Colorado W, 42-3 yuck...
