It is being reported that true freshman QB Brent Schaeffer is likely to transer to either Southern Florida University or North Carolina State at the end of this season.

After a stunning first few games, the Tennessee offense was found better fit for fellow true freshmen Erik Ainge, as he was named the full time starter. After an injury to Brents collarbone that put him on the shelf for the rest of the season, he has been in the doghouse at UT with skipping classes and practices, staying back while the team travels for away games(he won't be in attendance for tomorrows SEC championship game) among some other off field problems including a fight earlier this week.

Now Tennessee has a solid verbal commit from a 4 star QB Jonathan Crompton, along with being in the running for dual threat QB and #1 overall prospect Derrick Williams(listed as an ATH but wants to play QB.) So with Ainge and Crompton in the mix, Schaeffer seems like the odd man out and will most likely transer to a place where he'll get his playing time.

Just thought I'd pass the news along...

FYI: Went to a JUCO in California, now is being recruited by K-State, NC State, Wisconsin, and Ole Miss.

I think he will end up at Wisconsin.

Just one question. When a recruit leaves Tennessee after one year, does he still get to keep the Escalade?

He's got to trade it in for a Honda Pilot. Harsh penalty.

Virginia Tech just recently entered the fray. K-State is no longer of interest, mutually.

Who knows about this kid.

Guess Beamer hasnt had enough problems with scrambling quarterbacks that can't keep themselves in-line off the field.

Brent has given a solid verbal to Ole Miss, back in the SEC for him.
