You might want to invest a few $ in some of these for the house. I would put one on the front door, back door, and any other entry ways. Its just better to be safe than sorry you know with all the lawsuits these days.

Patience is the key, Shack... her body's going through a lot of changes and it sometimes feels overwhelming... plus, some women are pretty much sick and nauseated throughout the nine months. Hopefully this won't be the case for her, but a patient, supportive husband is worth his weight in gold for any expectant mom. (ie.: the proper response till at least June is always "yes, dear"... LOL)

LOL I identify with this so well because I did the very same thing every time. You'd think that after you experience childbirth for the first time, you would take every step in the world not to experience that pain again. But God has blessed us with very short memories as to the actual extent of the pain, and I do mean blessed. I'm pretty sure if he hadn't there would be a lot of people with 1 kid.

And holy smokes, hotrod......hour 21 of 25!!! I tried quitting at like 1 1/2 of 3 on one. She's a trooper!

oh thanks, I didn't see this

she is doing ok, the first few months were brutal (well not really, they were mild compared to a lot of pregnancys I have heard, but that is whole different issue) she is no longer having morning sickness and she is going along pretty normally now I think. The only problem is a problem that isn't related to pregnancy I don't think...she hurt her jaw somehow...anyway.

She is "kinda" showing, I think she's gained 8-10 lbs in 4 1/2 months.....something like that. She lost a whole lot of weight 2 1/2 years b4 she got prego so she is wearing her "fat" clothes still, but probably in a month or 2 she'll have to get maternity wear. She can't wear her jeans obviously..lol...she thinks she has felt the kid move a few times

yep...feb 10th we are going to find out the sex...she doesn't drink caffiene, so she plans on drinking a Dr. Pepper b4 the sonogram so the kid will be active and move so we can see if it has a thingy or not..lol

anyway...thanks for asking :)

Glad to hear she is over the morning sickness. I never experienced it myself, but from what I've heard, it's a bitch.

That sounds about right for feeling the first movements of the baby. Neatest thing in the world to feel something move inside you for the first time, and every time after for that matter.

So do you have a preference as to what you want? Tell her to have fun with that ultrasound. They make you drink a ton of water so you have a full bladder, so it pushes the baby up more. Then they push around with the stupid wand until you are sure that there is going to be a puddle on the table when they're done.

Hope everything keeps going smoothly for all of you. Good luck!

well she already had one ultrasound, but it wasn't on the tummy if you catch my drift MT, so she had to do that water wise and she almost died...lol, I didn't mean to laugh, but she was in pain from having to urinate, not that I enjoy pain, but...you get my point laughing at your spouse

anyway, you know the cliche "I just want a healthy kid" I guess you never know how much you mean that until you are going to have one. I think that is the biggest fear that anything is wrong with the kid

other than that I want a boy she wants a girl lol

Yikes! I never had to have one of the "other" kinds of ultrasounds, the regular ones are uncomfortable enough without that going on! Oh heck yeah, I had lots of my family in there with my at the ultrasounds, and they were all in hysterics over my agony in having to pee. Assholes.

I never used the cliche that way. I had definite answers and followed it up with that. :) I know I'll be dying to hear what you guys are having, so if you'd like, I'm sure we'd all like to know. Some people are odd about that kind of stuff. They like to keep it to themselves.

shotgun...hillarious.

I was a junior in high school and just got back from a hunting trip and was cleaning my 12 gauge. My younger sister apparently had a date that I didn't know about. I was by the front door cleaning my gun when the door bell rang. For some reason I didn't put the gun down and carried it the door. There is this nerd in front of me with a rose. He looks at me and says he's here to take my sister out. Now I was/am 6'5" and weigh about 260-270 (more muscle then) and this guy is about 5'7" and about 150 if that. I grin at the guy and just tap my 12 gauge and said "are you sure". He gets scared and starts to back away. I'm laughing my ass off inside but I'm trying my best to look like I'm about to kick his ass. My sister comes down the stairs and sees me at the door and asks who it is. He hears her voice and voices his pleasure to hear her by having his voice crack saying his name. My sister comes over and sees me with my 12 gauge and her date looking like death. She starts yelling at me and says to her date lets go. As they leave I tell him I want her back by 11 and he so much as touches her he is going to die.

They got back 1/2 an hour later. The guy was so scared to say or do anything that my sister got pissed and just wanted to forget about it.

The next Monday at school my sister is walking down the hall and she hears some of my fellow football buddies and some other guys saying, "Hey that is Jack's sister, she's off limits." She is still pissed off about that.

I don't know why guys always want boys. Those little girls are naturally daddies little girl and wrap themselves right around daddies little finger. While she's on that little finger have her watch games with you. She'll love spending time with dad and she'll develop an interest. It'll last until oh about 13 and then she'll turn into that person twisting her head and spewing green stuff and you'll be the dumbest thing on earth. Enjoy till then!

Sorry MT, I didn’t see this

She is doing pretty well, better than the first trimester still

I guess we have 5 weeks left? 5 or 6 something like that.

She is nervous about the birth of course, the labor and all of that. I guess seeing all these births in our birthing class kinda helps…I guess. At first it didn’t, she cried when she saw the first one…d’oh!!

We have most of the room done, just have a few things to finish up.

And yes, it’s really cool to feel her move, she is an active one too, she really moves a lot at night especially.

She gets the hiccups and it’s cute b/c there is a rhythmic bump, bump, bump on her stomach you can feel.

You need to fish and golf now time is running short ;D

I remember about the point your at. At night if the wife was laying on her back under the covers once in awhile you could actually see a little push or bump. I would tease her the boy wants out already.

Sorry MT, I didn’t see this

She is doing pretty well, better than the first trimester still

I guess we have 5 weeks left? 5 or 6 something like that.

Awww, I remember the hiccups. It was so strangely wonderful to experience that.

I never saw any birth videos. Probably a good thing. I may have backed out on the whole deal. ;)

I'm so glad to hear she is doing well. Pass on a hello for me. Continued blessings for all of you.

Will do :)

Besides you gave this baby her 2nd outfit ever, so she owes you something. A picture where she is smiling…lol

The birth class is interesting though, we’ve been going to it the past 4 weeks (2 more to go). Learning some interesting things.

Anyway, keep us in your prayers :)

Can't wait for that pic!

You've been in my prayers this whole time and will continue to be there. Us group B streppers ( that sounds bad ) have to stick together. ;)

Just thought I would pass on the wondeful news that baby shack entered the world yesterday. She weighs 7 pounds 6 ounces and is 21 inches long. All is well and the parents are doing fine but obviously tired. The baby is so cute and so peaceful. I got to hold her (imagine a gorilla holding a loaf of bread and there's the image for you).

When they get back from the hospital I'm sure Shack will post some pictures.

Awwwww!! I was just thinking about them last night, thinking it's gotta be very close. How exciting!

Congrats, Shack and your wife too on a job well done. ;) Enjoy her!

How did you come up with Liat? Is that a family name, or something? ???

well you are going to have to ask my wife on that one

apparently when she was in high school or jr. high, she saw south pacific (a play) and it had some island girl, some side story in the play, her first name was Liat.....she always liked that name.

anyway, I looked up the meaning and it is a jewish name, don't ask me how a polynesian woman would be named Liat, but she did.

Gosh, I haven't seen South Pacific in so long, I don't even remember that. I gotta go check it out now.

Is the black poop gone yet? :) That stuff is just heinous. I remember when we got our first glimpse of it. We were horrified. I think you need paint thinner to get it off too.

yeah she actually tried to swallow a little on the way out, but they got all of that cleaned out...YUCK

her first diaper was nasty, I was supervising with the wipes when the wife changed it...hehe

then later that night, early morning, whenever the hell it was, she had another one of those........she was crying, it must've hurt and then, this sound of paint splattering against a brick wall happened in her diaper, so she got another shot out there.

then she had 2 smaller ones, today she had a regular poop I think.....(which was nasty)

just like her daddy...full o' chit :)

LOL Oh the joys of babies! These ones are nothing. Wait until she gets solid food in her. That breastfed poop is roses compared to what is to come. :)
