View Full Version : who will be our RB next year?

I have a guy offering me either Reuben or Deuce McCallister for my #1 pick in next draft in my FF keeper league. I would much rather have Reuben but is he going to be our guy next year or will Bell emerge? McCallister is a good RB but the Saints suck and are very hot/cold from week to week.

I wouldn't trade the #1 pick for either one of those players. Rueben can be picked up later in the draft. McCallister is a good FF scoring back as he always gets his, but doesn't warrant #1 pick considerations.

its my#1, not the #1 in the draft.
right now im at .500 and my running backs are LT and kevin faulk so I need a better #2. The FF I'm in is pretty shrewd, last year there were very few good running backs available in the draft as most everyone used the keeper spots to keep 3 RBs. guys that hit 1300+ yards will never be available so its not a question of do I make the trade, its we think RD will be our guy next year?
I see nothing to convince me otherwise but Bell is very talented and might be able to win the job in training camp.

Bummer, thats why I don't like keeper leagues. Especially ones that have 3 or more spots. I'd take McCallister then. Rueben is good, but I don't think he'll put up the same numbers that Duce will bring. Especially with Denver going more towards passing downfield. If we still played the dink and dunk then Rueben would be warranted.

Take McCallister and run, in keeper leagues top RBs are tough to get in the draft and if you use any type of normal scoring system then RBs are the most valuable position.
Rueben is a great back for the Broncos, but there is just too much inconsistency in the Broncos backfield from year to year. He could be our back for the next four years or he could be a backup next year, who knows. In Deuce, you have a guaranteed starter barring injury for the next 4-5 years.
Go for it!

I would check to see how long his current contact is good for. If the current contract is about to end that could be good for you since typically players perform better when they are closer to a contract year.
