Just wondering who's going? I just checked for flights and I found a killer deal.

It's Tuesday and we have time to plan a tailgate! What's the word? Darkhorse? Elway Hof? I know we have some locals out there. Mediator 12?

I found a hotel at the Fairfield in 4 miles from the airport for $30 bucks a night via a package plane/accomodations. Any last minute planners want to split a room?

Anybody have a line on tickets?

This is monday night football! Broncos are 5 and 1!!!!!!!!! :charge:

Flying?.....with the Big Party Bus you are going to fly? Make it a one week road trip... ;D

Hell if the bus was making the trip I might subject myself to a Donkey/Bungal game just to see the bus.

LMAO..........Well the bus is going in for her first oil change/tune-up, emission testing etc in the morning...........

We've been driving on expired tags for too long. If there are any Denver cops reading this thread she will be legal by the end of the week. ;D Don't bust me on the way to emissions!

Damsel was just trying to convince me to drive but I just can't commit that kinda time right now. Besides the NO road trip is coming up soon!

Tell you what Naptown. We'll see you in KC Dec 19th if you are going.

Sounds good..I might head out to that game with Mediator12 if my work schedule and back allow.

I might try and get my back surgery scheduled before year end so that is on variable that might mess up that plan but hopefully it will work out and I can make it to the game and check out the wagon.

Only pisser about that game is the Chiefs have already blown their season and knocked a lot of the excitement out of it. But it is still football and still a good rivalry game.

Meck has been driving on bag tags.

I told you to service it a month ago.

Meck thinks he can just sneak away in a giant orange bus.

noone is going to see that thing.

Except a jealous John Madden!

Mock, when you going to be able to go to a game? I really want to meet you face to face. I'll even buy your ticket dude! Get out to Cinci old man and I'll make it worth your while!

Meck77
10-18-2004, 12:33 PM
Ok I'm about to book the flight. Because I can get a much better deal for my bud Jason out of Phoenix we'll be flying into Columbus. Not sure if that is farther from Indy or not Mediator but looks like we'll be arriving on Sunday around 4:00pm and flying out of Columbus Tuesday at 8:00am.

I don't want to incovenience you Mediator. I can just as easily rent a car. Only problem next will be getting a grill and cooler. I'm sure I can fit my flag pole in the suitcase!

I agree Mediator. Mock Iowa isn't far from Cincy. Hop in your ride and enjoy some monday night football!

Things are shaping up nicely!

Mediator12

I can get a small grill and cooler into my car Meck no problem. Getting you from C-bus on the other hand could be problemental. I have a game sunday afternoon and cbus is three hours away. No way I could get to you guys until 8pm cbus time. From there it is at least 2 hours to your hotel and maybe more with construction on the way and in Cinci right now.

Plus, no offense but flying out at 8am means a four am wakeup call tuesday morning to get back to c-bus in time for the flight. Let me know your final plans and we will work something out.

Meck77
10-18-2004, 12:51 PM
C-bus it is. It is a helluva lot cheaper to fly there. I'll get a rental car. No problem.

I'm going to look into getting some parking passes for the tailgate lot also to go along with your cooler and grill! I'll be packing multiple Broncos flags and banners also.

Hey Taco ((((((((((((((I need a rush order on that Orangemane.com banner))))

Mock only 9 hours from DesMoines to Cincy. http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&1ex=1&un=m&2ex=1&2tabval=address&cl=EN&ct=NA&2n=Polk&1tabval=address&2v=CITY&1y=US&1a=&1c=&1s=oh&1z=45202&1ah=&2y=US&2a=&2c=Des+Moines&2s=IA&2z=&2ah=&idx=0&id=41741d8b-00259-049f3-cdbcf364&aid=41741d8b-0025a-049f3-cdbcf364

Hell you could hop on one of your tractors it's so close!

I already got a pair of tix to the game but I found another for face value here. I just talked to the guy a few minutes ago. 2:40 pm mountain time. They are face value. 50 bucks a piece.

Ok why is the Cincy airport in Kentucky? What the heck?

Cincy is located right on the Ohio/Kentucky border and its somewhat like Kansas City, where it's in both Missouri and Kansas.

Majority of it is in Ohio, but you can cross the river and it's still considered Cincinnati for a bit in Kentucky.

All the stadiums are right on the river banks, which is kinda funny because if you msis the exit, you go into Kentucky, have to turn around there, and travled back into Ohio to get to the stadium. I've never been to Paul Browns but I've caught a few Reds games down there when they played my Dodgers since it's only a 4-5 hour drive for me.

If anyone wants to fly out from Denver, it's on Delta's Fan Fare special. I believe you have to buy this online only. $169 - I'm sure there are a couple add ons, probably a total of $185 - leaving Saturday from Denver and returning Tuesday.

Got your message Meck, i'm not going to be able to make it to this one. I was really close to going until about a week ago.

Meck77
10-19-2004, 12:51 PM
Ah shucks Darkhorse. Would have been cool to hang with you again. I wouldn't let tickets stop you from going Hercules. I'm sure there will be plenty of Bengal fans dumping theirs in the lot before the game for fear of having to watch RD run their team over.

On a side note........

Is there anyway one of you mods could move this thread to the tailgate forum? I goofed and should have started it in there. I just want it to stick around in the event there are some last minute Broncos fans that decide to go.

Thanks

no prob on the movage Meck.

I'll find out today if I get to go to the game. Basically it's a transportation problem with me, I'm driving-priveledge-less currently and my dad, who I go to all sporting events and concert with usually, cannot make it.

I'm getting ahold of a few of my friends currently to see if they're interested in going, don't see why they wouldn't, all they have to do is friggin drive down there and the rest is all set up by me and the OM'ers, plus they get to tailgate and enjoy a nationally televised MNF game featuring the SB XXIV Champion Denver Broncos.

I'm hoping that I can go, be the 1st Bronco game ever, couldn't miss this one ebcause I never know when they'll be around the area again.

That was a quick move! I finished typing went downstairs to grab something to drink and wammo! Mod powers in effect!

Not that you need any encouragement from me but heck this game is in your backyard! Even though it is a monday night game I suspect that tix won't be that hard to come by. That sucks your ole man can't make it. He's a real cool cat.

I'm still waiting to book my hotel room but if you need a place to crash in cincy you are welcome to come along. It should be more comfortable than the RV.....lol

I'll be there, cant wait. If you still need tickets try Riverfront Choice Tickets. Their # is 18002378849. Their located downtown about 2 minutes from Paul Brown. Ive used them a couple of times for Reds,Bengals tickets. Sometimes they'll work with you on ticket prices. With this being a monday night game I dont no if they will.

Sounds like you've been to Paul Brown quiet a bit Elwayrulz. Is there a specfic lot where visiting fans tailgate? Is there any cash lot you would recommend?

You guys are killing me! I wish I could make that road trip. Not that far from NJ, but alas, I will have to watch it on boob tube.
Next season, Meck, bring OF1 out here, to see the NYG! I believe the Broncs play them at the Meadowlands. Giant fans are a decent bunch. I've seen Elway and the boys play ther before. It's a nice stadium for football.

I went to Paul Brown last year for the game, great stadium, and the Cincy fans were all really cool people too. Tailgating is differant around there, there are no really large parking lots, last year we parked in a pay lot 2 blocks from the stadium and partied there,. There were a good amount of people in that lot, grilling and drinking, and a bunch more people just roaming the streets. There are also a couple of sports bars right by the stadium that are pretty cool. So meck and everyone else, enjoy the game, the stadium is GREAT, represent the Orange & Blue.

Make sure you get there early Meck. I went to the Cincy/ Bronco game last year and was never so pissed in my life. Got to the game 1 hour early, spent almost 2 hours in traffice to park, followed all the signs, asked directions from all the official parking attedants and cops only to find out that all the parking by the stadium is by PERMIT ONLY :redpunch: :redpunch: :redpunch:
Anyhow I spent $55 for my tickets for me and the cub to sit all the way up in the nose bleed section and didn't get to my seat till halfway in the second quarter. What a cluster F*******! :redpunch: :redpunch: I will never go to a game in Cincy again. Thats why I'm not making the drive down there to tailgate w/ you. That town doesn't know how to coordinate things for a big event like a football game. I don't know how the Reds fans and Bengals fans put up w/ it. And Oh yea, I finally found a parking spot 15 blocks from the stadium. I was told where to park by a policeman standing within 1 block of the stadium after I had waited in line for over 1 1/2 hours. I'm getting pissed just thinking about from writing this post

Dang Bum sounds like you had a rough one. Well being that I'm flying in around 4:00pm on Sunday that gives me more than 24 hours to make it to the game. I plan on getting to some lot fairly early. Thanks for the warning though.

Good luck Meck, hope your experience was better than mine. I know it couldn't get much worse. Only good thing was the Broncos blew out the Bungles. Oh, did I mention the Fans sucked also? I almost got into 2 fights while at the game. :cuss: :cuss: Might have been my attitude. I had a bad one after my parking incident.

Not sure about Bengals fans, but reds fans put up with because only 10,000 go to each game LOL

thanks for the info though broncobum, me and my friend are leaving monday and its a 4.5 hour drive, so I'll be sure to get us leaving early.

As far as tailgating, I'll just find where Meck and Mediator are at and meet up with them.

One thing to consider, people going -- The only people that can park near the stadium have parking passes right? You can buy parking passes either at ebay or at stubhub.com -- so it's something to consider.

I got a response back from some bengals fans, I'll post it later...
