Bush's mystery bulge
The rumor is flying around the globe. Was the president wired during the first debate?
- - - - - - - - - - - -
By Dave Lindorff
Oct. 8, 2004 | Was President Bush literally channeling Karl Rove in his first debate with John Kerry? That's the latest rumor flooding the Internet, unleashed last week in the wake of an image caught by a television camera during the Miami debate. The image shows a large solid object between Bush's shoulder blades as he leans over the lectern and faces moderator Jim Lehrer.
The president is not known to wear a back brace, and it's safe to say he wasn't packing. So was the bulge under his well-tailored jacket a hidden receiver, picking up transmissions from someone offstage feeding the president answers through a hidden earpiece? Did the device explain why the normally ramrod-straight president seemed hunched over during much of the debate?
I wish the main news media would pick up this story and look for this tonight

Oh, come on, people. Did you see the debate? If someone really was feeding Bush the answers, whoever it was must have been drunk or stoned.

That explains the endless repetition of the "It's hard work" statement Bush was having trouble hearing his commands.

why do you fear him, he's stupid right?
according to you all, he is the dumbest person on the entire planet.
your right, I fear Kerry the same way.......he'd sell out our country faster than you can turn around in order to keep himself popular.
I fear him because he is grossly under qualified to handle the most important job in the world.

first of all, he isn't King
second, there are many reasons why I support him...mostly b/c I don't trust Kerry as far as I could throw his skinny ass.
I don't believe government solves our problems and Kerry does, that is one of the biggest reasons I do.

He may not be king buy he was not clearly the peoples choice but that's old news
Normally you would never find me posting here but I think it is very very important to vote Bush out because I believe he is endangering and weakening the US.
I am not thrilled with Kerry either.

and thusly I think electing Kerry would endanger and weaken the US
take France for example, they stayed out of Iraq and one of their embasy's just got bombed, BUT ya know, just leaving people alone always works huh?

You have been accused of not knowing Kerry's position and clearly you don't.

like I give two craps what you think about me, or the rest of the B.H.ers, I'll never meet you and frankly I don't care to.
I have read about Kerry and again, I stand by what I said, you chose to believe what you want, I chose to believe what I want, just b/c I disagree with you doesn't make me less of a person.

All? Wow... by the inclusion of that little three-letter word, you're taking a shot at a very extensive demographic group there, Shack. :o To be sure, there are hateful people who would describe themselves as "liberal"... however, I'm certain there are an equal number of hateful individuals who would fall into the "conservative" group. When one's generalizing a broad demographic group, there is a lot of room for inaccuracy...
Btw, isn't the adjective "compassionate"... in recent political dialogue... usually paired with "conservative"? :P

MH, BushII has increased the size of govt. That's the problem. His tax cuts might have worked, but not when he increased discretionary spending like 16%, and it's not defense, it's pork. He simply lacks the ability to focus. Wrong man for the job. Even assuming Kerry isn't much better, he at least would through out the neocons like wolfowitz, armitrage, negroponte et al, and let the professionals like Hollbrooke run foreign policy. That to me is the only issue, because economically the next four years are already set: rates are going up, we have to cut spending and the rate of money growth. If you have more money in the bank than you owe on your house, you should do pretty well. If you are more of a debtor, it will be harder than the 90s

This use of the broad brush is a standard deflection tactic used by the bush brownshirts.
It's a way to shift the focus from the specific criticism of bush.
Was Smirk wearing a wire or not, MHS?

The wire is used by others in BushCo. Helps to stay on message.
http://www.isbushwired.com
"I have contacts within the Republican Party. I was told by Scott Zale, a Republican operative in eastern Tennessee that he knows it to be a fact that Bush was wired. He said that within the Bush campaign, there are certain mid-level staffers that have leaked this tidbit because it was just "too fantastic to ignore."
Zale told me that the transmission device is popular with other high profile officials in the Bush administration. It helps everybody stay "on message." Zale said that Bush was only fed ready responses to just certain types of questions. He didn't know which questions those were but admitted that Bush just sounded(to him)to be more articulate at certain "oportune" times.
Zale confided that he was told that the president wore a loose fitting jacket during both debates. The device protuded because Bush has a tendency to hunch over and shrug his shoulders a lot.
This is a true story as it was told to me. If you want to know more, please contact Scott Zale at the Bush-Cheney campaign headquarters in Knoxville, Tn. Thanks."
