XI? I absolutely hated it, though I knew I would. I've bought about every FF game except for the N64 and GBA ones. Online crap doesn't do it for me so I'll wait for XII to come out.

I've played a game called Priston Tales (When it was free) but now they charge like $130? a year to play

Final Fantasy XII. That doesn't come out in Japan until this Winter, so it'll be around a year until it comes out in the US.

That's cheaper then FFXI. $12.95/month x 12.

I never played 11 but I didnt want to. Online RPGs are just a bad idea to me. I have absolutely loved the series though with only a few exceptions. I didnt care for FF Tactics and FF X-2 really pissed me off. For all its hype, it was just a crap version of FF X without all the good stuff.
FF 9 was a lot like the first Final Fantasy (Still may favorite one), but they tried to make improvements on it and I think they failed. Still was decent.
If 12 goes back to single player only I will buy it but if not I think I am done with the series.

12 is a typical FF game, and you suck b/c FFT was a great game.

I used to love the FF series. FF2(4) is still my favorite with 3(6) a close second. After they started getting weird and preachy I began to lose interest. I did really like XIII and XIV, but after X they turned into a Japanese teen idol skin show.
Japanese games are excellent until they try to get "deep" and teach some philosophical principle to you. Look at Metal Gear Solid 1 vs 2. The first was excellent, the second's ending was a laughable theory on our government worthy of LABF.

My friend loved Tactics Herc but it was just not what I was looking for in a FF game.

It was different then the others, probably why its one of my favorites.
I probably liked IX the best, XI and VIII were the worst.

I always thought XII was the worst. I mean how many times did we have to watch Cloud dramatically grab his head figuring out who he is? Mr. T was shamefully stereotypical, and the only character I liked, Aeris, was killed in the middle of the game. The world never drew me in, and the whole idea that they're stoping a meteor is just stupid.

I think you mean VII Kaylore. XII is twelve and hasnt come out yet.
I liked VIII! I liked the story. The only thing about 8 I didnt like was the weapons. I didnt like having to modify the weapons you start with to get better weapons. Id rather just find or buy a better one ya know. The card game had me hooked for endless hours on 8 though and the airship in 8, The Ragnarok, was by far the best airship in teh series.

The "drawing" to get magic was retarded, ditto with basically every character being able to have every spell and summon.
Rock Chalk

Yeah that drawing business did suck. But every character could use every summon or magic in FF 7 too. I kinda liked it like that.

That's right. I really liked the way IX did it, where you can learn stuff as you level up, but also learn stuff due to equipping certain items.

9 was more like 1 in that there were classes. I really especially loved the black mage class and the guy with the hat, and the jawa eyes. He was in FF 1 and that rocked. I do miss the classes and how you could pick them (start with a thief, change him to a ninja later, have a black mage, a white mage, a warrior or three).
My ringer on my cell phone is the menu music from Final Fantasy 1.

I bought 1 again when they re-released on PSX a year or two ago, it was great to play it again.
I don't know if it is still in the works, but I remember hearing awhile ago that VII, VIII, and IX were going to be re-released on PS2. Not sure if that is still the case though.
They are doing a VII game for PS2 with Vincent as the lead character, and I think it is supposed to be a shooter.

Yes, that's what I meant.
I actually really liked the card game in VIII, and the characters were more developed and likable.
I have FF1 on my emulator. Emulators are the bomb.

If you ever played Dragon Warrior you know the legend of Erdrick from that game?
Well in the graveyard in FF1, one of the tombstones says "Here lies Erdrick RIP"
Just a little easter egg I found.

I've only played DW7 and I'm not that far in it.
I know there's an invisible person you can talk to in FF1

yeah, 8's coming out in Japan pretty soon for PS2. That's what happens when your company is bought up or merges with Square, sequels keep coming. FF, DW, Star Ocean, and Xenogears.

At least FF changes the game every sequel. Its a different story with diferent characters (save one exception).

I'm a long time fan of the FF series. I, III, VII, VIII, X & X-2 are all favorites of mine. Hard to pick just one with so many great games in the series.
Not into the online gaming, so I passed on XI. But I am waiting impatiently for XII.

I love part 8 and 10. The only Fantasy game I didnt like or finish was part 9.I dont know, I think it was the way the characters looked. They all reminded me of 5 year olds.I should probably give it another chance since I only played it for about 4 hours.(Oh yeah I never played part 11 since I didnt want to pony up the cash.)I really, really hated final fantasy x-2, but it got better towards the end.(damn, girl power). Another game I enjoyed was kingdom hearts. I thought it was pretty cool how they brought final fantasy characters into that game.
Did anybody else hear about a final fantasy 7 CGI movie?
I hated Dragon warrior 7.I loved Dragon warrior I(the game that got me hooked on rpgs), but come on they could at least update the graphics a little bit in Dragon warrior 7.I cant wait for dragon warrior 8, it suppose to be rendered in full 3-d.
I just finished front mission 4 and Final fantasy x-2. The games I am playing right now are Star Ocean:till the end of time,Disgea, and way of the samurai 2.The games that I am waiting for to come out are Final fantasy 12, Xenosaga 2, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Sid Meier's Pirates(suppose to be like the old sega pirates gold game). Most of them coming out next year, dammit!

I dug tactics... but I never really had much of a chance to play it until it was re-released right near the death of the original playstation..
As for IX... I found it kinda disappointing as well. Just too kid oriented for some reason.
I need to fire up my old emulator and play some old school V and VI

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I still have nightmares about getting all those freaking cards... I spent damn near 100 hours on that game because I was so obsessed with getting them all. I liked VIII more than most. Even if the story had some weaknesses.
By the way.. FFVII GOLD CHOCOBOS RULES!
Rock Chalk

250 hours of card playing (60 hours of regular story playing) on FF 8 Pez.
I got all of the cards and then I said "I have accomplished everything I want to in this game" and I never did beat it.
However, as much as I played 8, I played 7 twice as long. Breeding chocobo's was just fantastic fun.

haha..the FFVIII cards...I don't think I got all those.
FFVII I did everything and got everything except I never did attempt to beat Ruby weapon.
Final Fantasy Tactics, I did just about everything possible in that game. It was even better when you hooked up the Gameshark and gave your characters weird abilities...bwah hah.

Ruby weapon was too hard. He kept taking my peeps.
I did manage to kill Emerald Weapon though. It only took fifteen tries to figure out the strategy. I dont use books or anything to beat games, I cant stand that ESPECIALLY with RPGs.

I get to the end or close to it, get tired of it, and never beat it. Did that for 6-10, only beat 1, 2, and Tactics.

A couple Games I have got burnt out near the end were Final Fantasy X, X-2(looking for items burnt me out and trying to get 100%) What I do is move on to another game and when I am done beating it, I move back to the game I burnt out on.It usually seems fresh by then. But dont wait too long, because you might forget what you were doing.
