That would be a disaster in my IMHO... Democracy requires enfranchisement of the ENTIRE nation, not just the parts that get along well.

well if North Carolina was blowing themselves up and trying to behead a bunch of people and generally trying to disrupt the United States and send it into a civil war
yeah...I wouldn't include them in a vote either

What a line of crap.
Of course you don't bother with these pockets. Let the people that want democracy vote. Those who don't we can simply bomb to VirginVille. Your think I care about that madman Sadr? Anyone seen a video of this guy? He acts like Rasputin.

That's like asking if holdouts in Hitler's bunker should be allowed to determing the future of the New Berlin or asking the Imperial Court of Japan their opinion while camping out on the Missouri.
Go back to your bong towlie.
If I'm running the show I tell the civilians to get out of Dodge and flatten the whole city.

North Carolina should be included in a vote. Now, CALIFORNIA, that's a different beast. They're a little wacky over there, so I don't know... ;)

So we, as Americans, care so little for enfranchisement now that we support.. half an election?
Amazing how fast our "american values" have been so completely corrupted.

If ALL of Iraq isn't allowed to vote in the elections then they are meaningless as everyone will see afterwords.

Baloney.
Totall assertion. No foundation. If the insurgents want to hole up and prevent elections that won't be their right anymore, it will be their downfall.
I don't know what joy the Left gets in watching civilians trying to help Iraq recover yet have their heads sawed off, but it's something very odd.
If they don't want to be part of the political process, that's fine with me. They can choose to vote, or not.
Then the new government can ask us to wipe out the dissent, we go kill the terrorists en masse and go home.

Why wait to do that? Why not do that now?
Because they are part of the general population. It's called gorilla warfare. They hide with the populace and strike when they think they can. And their numbers are in the hundreds of thousands. Impossible to win this type of war.
Start excluding certain geographical areas and there will be chaos throughout the country.

Totally WRONG. First, they are not part of the "General Population". Where you came up with that has to be examined. On one side you tell me that thousands of more terrorists are created, then you say they are the General Population. They are insurgents and misled dimwits by crazy dimwit Mullahs. That's reality. And this next assertion of "hundreds of thousands" WTF are you talking about? You throw out an assertion. the figure is around 50k. Then you claim it's impossible. Then you act like they are going to exclude certain areas! Your happy about dissent. In fact, your highly motivated to endorse chaos.
Sorry, but your Iraq meltdown isn't going to happen as much as CNN and CBS want it to. The elections will be held around the militants like a canker sore isn't given blush.
What really amazes me is the gross neglect for the common good. It means nothing if Iraq goes up in flames if Bush loses the election. It's literally amazing.
