Evan after two full weeks of play I don't think any team has stood out above the others. There was only one game in the first two weeks that matched up two teams ranked in the top 25 -- #4 Miami vs. #5 FSU last Friday night. Things will become a little clearer after good games this weekend like Tennessee/Florida, Auburn/LSU, Maryland/West Virginia, Ohio State/NC State, and Iowa/Arizona St.

The big story so far has been non-BCS teams like Fresno St., Utah, Louisville and Boise St. doing so well and getting some deserved publicity. We've also seen LSU, Georgia, and Ohio State avoid getting upset and Michigan losing to a thought to be dead Notre Dame.

USC looked beatable when playing Virginia Tech on opening night, though they bounced back nicely against CSU. I think they're rightfully the team to beat so far.

Oklahoma has played nobody so far and should have a ticket printed for the Orange Bowl if they can beat Texas and whatever sacraficial lamb the Big 12 North throws at them in the Big 12 Championship game (yes, I know KSU beat them last year, that a'int happening this season, as much as I'd like to see Colorado beat the Sooners).

Georgia, LSU, Florida, Tennessee and Auburn should beat each other up in the SEC. I don't see any of those teams running the table.

Miami showed that their defense is even better than last years unit that lost 4 1st rounders to the NFL. The defensive line and secondary are excellent. The offense is not, though I think it will be better than last year if Gore stays healthy and Berlin continues to avoid turnovers.

FSU has a very good defense, not as good as Miami's, but very good. Their offense will look a lot better when not playing Miami. They need a lot of help to get into a BCS bowl, let alone the Orange Bowl. I think they're headed to the Gator Bowl.

Can Texas beat Oklahoma this year? The Big 12 sure looks weak this year.

I have no idea what's going on in the Big 10. Ohio State continues to win the close games. Michigan is done. I like what Purdue has shown so far. Kyle Orton would look good in Colorado's black and gold.

Oklahoma is looking good. USC should be a strong contender for the national title. Fresno State is looking good, but they won't be a factor in the end because of their WAC affiliation. Oklahoma State could be a team to watch this year. Colorado is only a few wins away from putting the whole recruiting saga behind them.

Purdue is the team that has me turning my head, especially cause they're in the Big 10 and OSU has to go to West Lafeyette to play.

Outscoring the opposition 111-7 right now has to get some recognition, even if it was syracuse and ball state.

2 or 3 national championships and we'll be there. :D

No one has stood out yet. I'm looking at the championship game involving 2 of the 3 of Oklahoma, USC and Miami.

We'll see how the recruiting sage effects the recruiting process. CU is working with guys that were recruited 2-3 years ago still, once the new batches come in, we'll see the true aftermath of Gary the Pimp.

Troy stands out the most for me. Muahahahaha
Actually, I'm with Denfan right now. I'm not sure if they have enough to contend for the title...but Purdue is looking stout right now. If you look around at the "top" teams...they all have a problem somewhere on the field that could dash their championship season hopes. It's still early though, hard to get a lock on everyone. I think 5 teams will come out of the pack midway through the season and then we can start talking.

Homer pick of the year....OU to beat USC in the Orange Bowl, scene of our last MNC. USC is about the only team that really worries me.

KSU...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Couldn't have happened to a better team, or better fans. Sproles for Heisman huh?

How many yards did he end up with? Everytime I switched to the game he was getting stuffed at the line. Speaking of RBs tho. How do you like Peterson? He has a nice gliding motion in his runs from what I've seen. He still makes expected mistakes that come with a true frosh (like missing a cutback lane) but he is a very nice talent. Wolfe is a great talent too. Is he being redshirted? I don't get to listen to the Sports Animal much anymore so I miss out on all the talk.

Wolfe is 3rd team behind Kejaun and Adrian Peterson. Peterson is the home run threat OU needed. Even with all the mistakes, he still manages to break a big one. And yes, it does look like he just glides through running half speed. I would love to be him when he starts making NFL money.

I think Sproles had about 37 yards on 20 some odd carries. Nice job Snyder! :hitself:

As far as the Sports Animal goes, its still the same ole' crap, different day. Morning Animals are funny with their bathroom humor, Bob Barry Jr is boring, although Sooner homer James Hale is on with him now for an hour. Craig Humphreys still talks golf all afternoon, Traber is still the "Ultimate" (whatever), and AL Eschbach, is...well, Al Eschbach.

Do you live around OKC?

Yeah I live in Yukon/Mustang/OKC. No mans land. I use to love listening to the morning animals on my way to work, and then at work. Steely cracks me up. BBJ has always been boring, and always will be. Craig is the epitomy of boring. It is great on those rare occasions when he gets fired up and semi yells at the caller. Traber will always be my favorite just because he gets so fired up all the time. His show is boring during baseball season but picks up again in the late fall/winter. And Al, well yeah, I figured he was the same.

I see you live in Edmond. There are a couple other Bronco fans in Edmond and the next time we get together we'll have to shoot you an email. We went to a sports bar for the first preseason game and I think we'll go again next time a Denver game isn't televised. Luckily tho, this weeks game is on CBS (according to the guide on the all knowing and powerful cable box). I might be attending the OU game tomorrow aswell. My buddy called and offered me a ticket since his wife can't go. I'd like to see what the renovations look like now that the new upperdeck is complete.

The new upperdeck is awesome. You will love the field and the chants of "Boomer Sooner" all game...hehe.

It would be nice to watch some Denver games with fellow fans! Let me know.

Wow...Seriously wow.

I've got to give it up to Stoops...He does run a tight ship. Every team has a few bad apples, and all of them have been removed quickly from the OU team when something comes up. None of this "we'll wait until further devolpments happen" and then suspend them for the Western Utah State Polytech game at the beginning of the season.
How is OU's depth at Dline? For some reason I keep thinking they are young there. I don't think it will be that big of a loss, but Dvoracek was a pretty damn good player. Once again, wow.

Har har har....man I hate that chant. But, it's still better than sitting on the hands that we see at Invesco. I'll be in the top row on the north side right underneath the scoreboard. It was the best seat to be in at the North Carolina game a few years ago. There were about 2 minutes left and the skies opened up and a downpour began. I didn't think 80,000 people could evacuate a stadium that quick but they did. Luckily the scoreboard blocked the rain and we didn't get wet until we tried to leave. Then we got lost trying to find the car and ended walking 2 miles past the car. Needless to say, we got soaked.
