French Muslims are rallying in support of the head-scarf law after the kidnapping of French journalists:

"Nobody coming from the desert or the bush in Iraq can tell us what to do in France," said Abdallah Thomas Milcent, 45, a doctor who is the representative in Strasbourg in eastern France for the French Council for the Muslim Faith, an umbrella organization of Islamic groups. "This demand comes from crazy people who do not obey any logic," he said by telephone.
