McDonald's was a killer. Just say no. This sucks for Bill Jeff, don't like the guy's politics, but this is no good.

NEW YORK — Former President Bill Clinton (search) has been admitted to a New York hospital, a source confirmed to FOX News Friday.
The president is undergoing tests at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital (search). A source confirmed that Clinton was admitted after encountering a blockage in his arteries. The tests come with an eye towards heart bypass surgery within days.
"When someone is found to have an obstruction ... we usually do an angioplasty," said Fox News health contributor Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld. Rosenfeld said an angioplasty involves a balloon being inserted into the artery to expand it. If that does not appear to be effective, the patients are usually taken into surgery.
A family friend close to the former president told FOX News that Clinton experienced chest pains a few days ago while at his home in Chappaqua, N.Y., and was taken to a local hospital. The sources said that Clinton had angioplasty done in the last day or two, but the results showed the problem was more serious than first anticipated, so he was transferred to Columbia Presbyterian, one of the top heart hospitals in the nation.
Clinton is one of the youngest presidents to have entered office, having been first elected in 1992. In July, he appeared at the Democratic National Convention, where he gave a rousing speech to rally support for John Kerry.

I have no love for Clinton or his beliefs, but I still wish him a speedy recovery.

this is surprising. After he retired to New York he said he was on the stairmaster everyday and recently he was on the South Beach diet. He never looked that bad. He loved McD's yeah, back in the 1992 campaign but i never thought it got serious. Dont care for his politics but best wishes to him.

That's what's so sad. I hated the guy as a President, but kudos for losing all that weight and looking trim and healthy. It makes you realise that heart disease isn't always related to weight.
I've loved how he never stoops to name calling and condemns those in his own party as unhelpful. He's certainly been through a lot.
I really hope he pulls through. His party needs tempered optimists like him.

I don't get it. I had a test for blockage and it was freaking 100 bucks (They have a semi-free clinic once a year) They check the back of your neck, your Aorta for plaque. You can see the white crud buildup. I'm like 1/8th blocked. My mom is 2/3 blocked but that is considered marginal at this point.
You can literally watch your blood pumping on a little tv screen and see how much blockage you have. And this caught Bubba by surprise?

According to NBC news, his colesterol has been on a steady climb since 1997....not good.
All the best to him, I hope he recovers quickly.

Will the real "haters" please stand up?
President Bush on Friday wished Bill Clinton "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery."
"He's is in our thoughts and prayers," Bush said at a campaign rally.
Bush's audience of thousands in West Allis, Wis., booed.
Bush did nothing to stop them.
Can you imagine — even for a moment — a crowd of Democrats doing this upon hearing that a Republican was having heart surgery? It's unfathomable. But we saw the true face of the Republican Party at their convention this week, and it's an ugly face, angry and hateful.

Lol, this only half the story. The press failed to note that a majority of the audience applauded. There was a retract of the story and an edit done to present the more accurate occurance. Not surprised LABF missed that part, though. It was probably another right-wing conspiracy. More name calling is in order. Ha!

Another outstanding example of right-wing ethics:
Because there was applause, this lets the people who were doing the booing off the hook.
Do rethugs ever hold their own accountable for anything?
I suppose this is a rather tall order when their role model is a smirking sociopath who has never admitted to making a mistake or acknowledged he was wrong about anything.

First, very nice use of name calling. You are very good at it and therefore you are more correct. It makes your point even more valid when you are accusing Republicans of being mean spirited and follow up with a mean spirited reply. Now one will notice.
And who said I was defending the people who booed or thought that others clapping exonerated the booers behavior? I'm the first to admit that politics brings some very negative, rude, vicious behavior...as evidenced by your many posts on this forum. Nnyah!

I hated his politics but wish him well.... at least he's not a diabetic or smoker, so he should do well. He's gonna be hating life when he wakes up on the vent with a freshly cracked chest.

I heard they cracked him open and only found a broken heart. It seems it was a combination of Zell Miller, John Kerry and the fact he couldn't run for a 3rd term that gave him the heart attack.

It's called "calling a spade a spade." (Something almost entirely foreign to most conservatives.)

The truth hurts. That doesn't make me "mean spirited." In other words, pointing out the mean spirited behavior of repukes at that speech doesn't make me "mean spirited."
I'm the first to admit that politics brings some very negative, rude, vicious behavior..
I guess this is about as close as you're going to get to holding the booers accountable.

I seem to recall a good share of Democrat "haters" when Reagan died. Sometimes, politics make people take incomprehensible and reprehensible actions.

Heart disease doesn't play favorites and lifestyle is only part of the equation. Heredity also plays a role.
For anyone to take pleasure in another's misfortune is reprehensible. IMO.

Bill Clinton engenders so much hate and so much fealty. He really is a perfect poster child for the baby boomer generation. He has/had so much potential, but his self serving "me generation" attitude was his hubris. I abhored what moral depths he showed us.
However, I wish him all the best and hope that somehow, someway, like Jimmy Carter, or even Richard Nixon, he will be greater for us as a past president than he was as an incumbent. It aint over till its over. God speed Mr President.

Clinton... and by extension, his wife... is a lightning rod for the hatred of Rush Limbaugh aficionados. It's not so much what he or Hillary have done; it's more a testimony to the effectiveness of right-wing hate radio where facts take a back seat to partisan rhetoric.

Actually, right wingers, such as myself, disdain Hillary because of her frightening ambition coupled with her voting reccord.

My brother had pluracy during a cold harvest in Iowa, we took a vacation to Hawaii and it just got worse. A doctor in Hawaii poked him to relive the water and it got infected. We were driving 90 MPH from Minneapolis Airport to Rochester. They cracked him open horizonatally and he was like a rotten tomato in there. 18 inch scar. They cleaned him out somehow, put enough antibiotics thru him to just about kill him. It finally localized some and they cracked him back open to clean it yet again. He lived.
Infections are nasty.
I can't imagine civil war wounds.

Clinton still has his place. Please God don't let Kerry or the Widow represent the left, yet alone Gore.
When and if the time comes for negotiations, I am not afraid of Clinton's negotiating skills. I hope his noggin comes out clear.

glad to see he is on the mend and road to recovery. One of the surgeons said if this procedure wasnt done there was a high risk of a substantial heart attack. He needs to do his part too, less McDonald's more oatmeal in the morning, more working out, but he should be fine.
Even Slick Willie deserves to have a healthy life.

Its hard to see from flaming left field the total liberal bias in network TV... The obvious exception being foxnews --- which is a welcome exception
