Are you asking how long before Russia supports us in the war on terror or how long before they support us on the war in Iraq? Those are two completely different things.

Would we be behind them 100% if they decided to flatten Chechnya? I mean, I would be, but would the US as a whole?

Chechnyan rebels using terrorist tatics is what's happening here....somehow I don't think Russia will see it the same as our "war on terror' or what we are doing in Iraq....maybe they will, but somehow I doubt it.

Interesting point. How would Russia feel if we told them they couldn't deal with the Chechen Terrorists as they saw fit?

What would the reaction be here if a bunch of Islamofascists took a school hostage? There'd be a lot of righteous anger.

I love how you leave out small details like it's a country that they are trying to covert to radical Islam. It's a known terrorist enclave with suicide bombers, or the fact they are holding 200 children plus parents and faculty as hostages on the first day of school. They probably want separate gym class, Burpas and segregated classes to teach the girls submissive, backwards edicts.

All the cities in that area have Russian names. It's just another attempted conquest.

Last I knew, Chechnya was trying to break away from the Russian Federation, not "convert Russia to radical Islam"...

Whatever, I still think the Russians should roll in the tanks and flatten the place like they used to back in the USSR days....things of this type need to be delt with with a very heavy hand IMO.

Not that killing kids is cool, but how many chechneyan kids y'all figure the former soviets have whacked? gotta be in the tens of thousands. Even if you think the BushII is wrong in nationbuilding in Iraq, or even if you think at the heart it's just a hostile corp takeover of the oil, the US isn't preventing an indegenious people from being a country. Just seems to me that there are not "good guys" in this, and lots of innocents on both sides.

Russia has supported us on the war of terrorism. They have allowed us to set up shop in their backyard in Afghanstan something they have never allowed before. Also they supported the Iraq war quietly. They have lost millions in loans after Saddam was toppled. Russia didn't veto the UN Bill. Quietly but they have supported us as much as their pride as allowed.
