it wasn't an upset

The officiating in that game was beyond terrible. They might as well hand Angola the gold.

Tim Duncan got the most phantom fouls I've ever seen.

you think international refs want us to win?

watching the spain game that was obvious, they tried very hard to get us to lose that game, luckily Marbury was having an out of body experience to over come that.

Fact of the matter is we should of been able to overcome any officiating. I'm turning my back Klingon Style.

I will not look at a disgrace. Beezlebub says we should lop off their heads but I have calmed him down. He said he was going to spare mello anyway.

not with this team, they can't shoot and if you can't shoot in the international game, you won't win.

at least on dream team #1 we had larry bird and Chris Mullin who could shoot from the outside...whups, they are both white

maybe I am a racist? LOL

Maybe we will learn some fundamentals by the next Olympics.

If you think that's racist, imagine what Larry Brown is saying to his squad right now. It's one thing to shoot bad, but not following the screens and the pick and rolls are not acceptable, especially under a coach Brown team.

Well, the women knocked off Russia 66-62 and are now one game away from a gold medal. I'm cheering for them.

(See, I'm racist, but I'm only racist towards men.)

I love the international screen and roll. It's almost always a moving screen and the only person to get called for it tonight was Duncan, for his fifth foul nontheless.

Last summer an NBA team with, gasp, a couple of good shooters beat the same Argentinians 106-72 in the Tournament of the Americas.

David Stern should be happy. I'm sure he's sold a lot of Carmelo, LeBron, and Wade jerseys over the past few months. People don't buy Brent Barry or Michael Redd jerseys.

What are the odds of the dream team even getting a bronze at this point?

It's still possible, but I don't know what the scenario would be.

Be fair - Magic and Michael were pretty damned good shooters, too.

Michael and Magic both shot at or above 50 percent for most of their career. I can't find one NBA player besides big men to shoot at the percentage, not even Kobe Bryant.

make them pay their own way back. :USA:

How about docking the pay of those who turned down the invitation. At least the "Dream Team" gave it a shot.

I think I'm just dissapointed at those who chose the team.

It's too bad that it came to this.

I was ( unlike many ) actually rooting for team USA.

I implore those that don't like the NBA brand and prefer the european style "team play" to call your cable provider and request a change of coverage from NBA to the Spanish and Serbian leagues next year.

Be fair - Magic and Michael were pretty damned good shooters, too.

At that late point in his career, Magic was an above average shooter. I said in another thread (and I'll stick by my comment) that Barkley was a better shooter than anyone on the 04 squad. And he was very streaky.

This team was destined to fail. Too many shoot-first point guards, no real shooters.

The NBA game is borderline unwatchable. Has been for some time.

I don't agree - Kevin Garnett or whoever wouldn't have made a difference. USA basketball chose the biggest names rather than trying to make a winning team. Where was the true point guard? Where were some jump shooters? Where was the defensive stopper? This team was doomed before they ever got on a plane to Greece.

I'm more disappointed that Lithuania lost to Italy. Freaking Guineas shot 64% from 3-point range. How the hell are you supposed to contend with that?

Italy beats Lithuania 100-91 (http://www.sportsline.com/olympics/story/7620734)

Team USA beats Lithuania 104-96 to bring home the Bronze. At least they don't leave empty handed.
