Hello Blue...

What have you been up to this weekend?  We haven't chatted in the Treehouse, forever!

Did you get to see Baby Blue this weekend?  Do you get to see her for Easter?

Midnight Blue

Hi, ND... you're right, we have been neglecting the Treehouse thread. :D

I haven't gotten to see Baby Blue since last Saturday. :-/ I had planned to go and see her last Friday, but then I caught a head cold... which caused me to delay things, but will probably be going to see them on Tuesday or Wednesday.

How have things been going in ND? It looks like our snow is finally starting to melt off, although we did have snow flurries last week. Everyone around here is really ready for some spring weather.

I hope you're feeling better, Blue! Are you going visiting tomorrow then?

I'm ready for some spring weather, too.  I think our February and March got turned around.  We did have some 50 degree temps and no snow in February...Not now...But our snow is almost gone and the temps will be back in the 40's by Wednesday.

Good Job, TJ!

Thanks for the cyber beer, ND!

Yeah, I'm planning to go and visit Baby Blue tomorrow. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to "share the wealth" (not a good thing to do when "the wealth" is a cold virus!) :-) Fortunately, none of the rest of my family has caught it... (knock on wood)

My plans for the day didn't go quite as I expected... my parents had other stuff going on today, so we postponed my visit until Thursday... but I got caught up on a lot of other stuff that I needed to do.

So you've had a very long day today... were the little ones difficult?

Challenging I guess you would say...but I had a staff person out today and we played musical staff....which is always difficult and inconsistent.  We also had a new worker helping us out that didn't know them.  In other words, I did most of the work myself...(I do have a couple of kids that like to be held all day, too!  Which makes it a real challenge to do activities and provide care for the other little ones!) I also have a couple of older ones (ready to move up) that seems to be into everything and liked to bug their other friends, today.  Oh well, hopefully tomorrow is better.  My parents will be in town Thursday, so I have Friday off...2 DAYS TO GO! :D

So are you going to get to visit tomorrow then?

Are you feeling better?

I need to get a beer....or maybe a nice glass of wine...be back in a few minutes...(yep, for real!) LOL

After a day like today was, a short week will be a real relief... being short-handed would be very stressful. "Bugging the older kids"... I can really relate to that one! My twins love annoying their older siblings and some days, I feel like a referee. ;D

Do you have any special plans for the weekend with your parents? I'm planning to go and see my folks (and Baby Blue) on Thursday.

I'll be coloring about 5 dozen Easter eggs with the kids on Friday or Saturday... and then they'll be doing Easter egg hunts and all that.

I'm feeling much better now... and so far, none of the rest of the family has caught this bug from me, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're done with it. :-)

No plans yet...There's a new restaurant I want to try out and we might go to a movie or something.  My mom likes to shop, but I only go for so long....(being from a small town she doesn't have much to choose from....) and go to the antique shops.  I get bored and end up going bowling or something with dad.

Sorry I missed you, Gudgref... I had to be offline for a while... and then my mom called and told me that Baby Blue is running a fever tonight. Baby Blue was doing somewhat better this morning, but still has a temp, so I think her mom is going to take her to the doctor (just to be sure it isn't an ear infection or something like that).

Blue, my trip was good.  My new nephew is a sweetie - he sleeps most of the time, so how can he not be?  :)

Thanks Blue :)

We had a little one today that started and she'd never been in childcare before...Let's put it this way...we needed all 4 teachers for 10 kids! (we usually have 16)! :o

The roads weren't too bad in town....most of the snow...all 5.6 inches was mostly melted off the roads, but my parents drove all the way across the state today and the interstate was mostly ice! :-/ >:( :(

Yeah, our snow is melting at a very fast pace, too... and we've gone from "sweatshirt weather" to "T-shirt weather" just within the last 10 days or so...

I'm not so certain... I thought today's news item from KFFL that said Seattle was also looking at Ken Dilger might be a hint that he was coming back to Denver...

Shannon's agent just met with Shanahan on Thursday and the RMN had an article saying Shannon was spending the weekend relaxing in Las Vegas... so the time frame really doesn't worry me... especially now that Al goofed and put Oakland out of the picture... ;D

I have to admit that if Shannon and Romo had both gone over to the Darkside this year, I would probably have said some bad words... ;D

Fortunately, Al made sure that won't happen... :giggle:

It has sounded almost like Shannon's return to Denver was a 'fait accompli'... and his taking a vacation to Vegas would imply that perhaps his decision is already made...

Mine's a '57 Chevy BelAir hardtop... the paint could stand to be redone in the near future, as it's a custom red metal flake with about 15 coats of clear (with the ultra-thick clear coats, the paint tends to chip after a few years).

It has an original 283 engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission.
It gets around 18 mpg, but has plenty of acceleration if you need it. :D

Hey, that's not fair... your weather's better than ours! It got up to about 60 for a couple of days, but it's been rainy for the last couple of days.

Our weekend plans will probably depend a lot on the weather... yard work if it's sunny, possibly a Raider-trouncing video or two if the weather's inclement.

Did you find any neat Broncos stuff while out shopping?

Speaking of yard work, I should clean up my flower bed, too!
(I forgot to plant my tulips last fall, though.... :'( )

Thanks for the cyber wine, ND! :D
Yeah, I suspected that perhaps you were looking for a Sharpe jersey. I have a feeling that Cole's reluctance to give up the #84 may have an effect on whether or not he makes the final roster...

It's miserable to have to spend a warm, sunny Spring Saturday indoors... but at least you'll be out by 3.

I've noticed that the daffodils are already budding... and there's new growth on my irises. I was really ready for spring weather... the winter seemed unusually long this year. LOL

Yes, it certainly was! ;D

I might just have to re-watch that tape over the weekend if it rains.
The kids went out this afternoon and caught their first salamanders of the year... we have these neat ones that are mostly dark brown/black with bright lime green markings on them... and they also caught some nightcrawlers they can use for fishing...

besides torture each other!  ;D

Midnight Blue
04-13-2002, 01:18 AM
LOL... yes, they do threaten to "slime" each other with a salamander... but what they usually do is to take a plastic dishpan, put an inch or so of dirt into it, add some rocks and sticks and a few small mud puddles to make a neat little habitat... catch a few salamanders and just watch them for a while... or until Mom says they've tormented them long enough and then they release them... :-)

Very few creatures (salamanders, frogs, snakes, turtles, etc.) are safe from being captured in our yard.... :D

How's your weekend been?

It's been good...other than locking my house keys and the gargage key in the garage! (Good thing, I gave my friend an extra key to my house!) Sounds like a good weekend with friends for you, too.  I also have been gone all day today checking out different ideas for my kitchen and spare room...paint swatches, furniture, etc.  I came up with a few cool ideas....and talked a girlfriend into helping, too! (She just bought a new house and has been busy decorating...she's the one experienced with a paintbrush...I'm not.) :P

Then, of course, it being Spring...I had to check out the home/garden section at Menards and Home Depot ;D (Unfortunately, it rained all weekend, so messing in the garden, or should I say, cleaning it up, was out of the question...Oh well...)

Don't you hate being locked out?! I find that totally maddening... good thing you'd given your friend a set of keys or you'd have been calling the locksmith!

The mere male is watching basketball today... it's kind of rainy, so there's not much he can do in the yard... and the golf course is too crowded to suit him on the weekends. It's amazing how quickly the grass grows after the snow melts... making lawn mowing necessary. :-)

Your home decorating projects sound very interesting.... it's really nice that your friend is doing the same thing and you can share ideas. :D

I wouldn't have been locked out if I only had the one car!  Now, both the garage door openers are in the cars (I usually keep one in the house) and since I had so many keys on a ring, I separated them, leaving the housekey and the garage key on one chain...laying on the seat of the car...and I hit the garage door on the way out, so I had only the car key and no cell phone...Luckily, I have a nice neighbor who let me use her phone....a few townhouses down....and once I got into my house, I had a spare garage key....YUCK! ::)

The house projects should be interesting....I moved in two years ago and haven't done anything to the walls or anything...I decided to paint my kitchen a rose color (my valance on my window is floral...hunter, burgundy, sage green, rose...with a little blue...)I have a matching border that I haven't put up yet....I'm only going to paint the one wall...it's a cutout wall that over looks my steps so it should be easy to do.

In the spare room, I found a denim color...kind of checked blue couch with cream/blue checked/yellow/floral pillows in a sleeper sofa and a loveseat...I might leave the floral pillows off and do a "lighthouse" room and paint it yellow/dk. yellow with a double roller...there's a lot of fun "texture" stuff you can do.  Depends on how ambitious I get! LOL

That sounds lovely... the rose color would be pretty with your valance and border. :-)

The new paint rollers and painting techniques do make for a lot of creative possibilities. You don't have to be stuck with 'blah' walls anymore... and the yellow-on-yellow would brighten up the room.

Then, you also have your Bronco-theme bathroom... how is that shaping up?

As for the Bronco bathroom...I have blue towels, a Bronco candy jar (to put cotton balls in) and a bathroom rug and toilet cover with the Bronco logo...I'm still looking for a shower curtain.  I also have a pic of players on the Superbowl 32 team to hang up and I have a pid of Elway, Aikman, and Young I can hang...sitting with the backs of their jerseys facing outward. It's coming together in time for pre-season, hopefully!

Someone also told me that they have "bronco orange" towels at Wal-mart! ;D
(I might order some Bronco logo towels on ebay, though.)

Yeah, I know what you mean... I'm addicted to ebay, too. You can find almost anything there and usually at a pretty good price, too. Sometimes my kids will want a toy or something (for Christmas, etc.) that is hard to find and it's a good chance that I can find it on ebay.

I'm actually hoping Gus does sign with the Bengals... it's a good career move for him as it is one of the few places where he can compete for a starting position... and then the whole debate will be moot.

The Gannon controversy is all about money, I think. His contract calls for him to make $2 million this season, but $5 million next year.... however, he's not likely to really see the $5 million because by next year, Tui should be ready to challenge for the starting job, which would make Gannon (and his big cap hit) expendable.

Even if they desperately wanted to renegotiate Gannon's contract, the Raiders would have trouble paying him any more money because they're severely cap-strapped. The last I read, they were less than $500,000 under the cap... and they're projected to be more than $50 million over the cap next year... Gannon's $5 mil would make a pretty good dent in that deficit...

Funny you should mention that... the criticism of Gannon on the Raider boards might sound a bit familiar... "can't throw the ball down field" "weak arm", "bad attitude", "blamed teammates for lost games"... almost exactly the same things we read about Brian every day on this board...  they even have a nickname for Gannon... "noodle arm"...

There would be those who would criticize such a trade, though... who would say that since we already have a 'weak-armed QB', why would we need another one?

Not to mention that he'd probably want more money than we could justify paying for a backup...

Sassy
04-28-2002, 10:38 PM
So did the criticism of Gannon start on the Raider boards when he didn't show up for camp? Or was it before that?

Midnight Blue
04-28-2002, 11:24 PM
There was some criticism as early as last December.... predictably enough, right around the time that the annual fade began. LOL

It has really intensified recently, as the second voluntary minicamp started on Friday. He was hardly the only no-show, however. Tim Brown and Eric Allen also were absent. It's notable that Brown publicly criticized Gannon for missing the earlier training session.

Anyway, there are probably six or seven threads devoted to Gannon... some posters are defending him while others are pretty brutal in the attacks.

Hehehe... yeah, you're right that the Gruden experience has left some Raider fans embittered and quicker to turn on Gannon.

It's probably safe to assume that Gannon will show up for the mandatory camps and honor his contract... but the Raiders are definitely in deep trouble if he doesn't... Tui isn't really ready to take over the starting job yet and the other backups are Hoying (who isn't 100% healed from an injury he suffered last season) and Rick Mirer... YIKES!!! :o :o :o

Looking back on the whole "Shanahan to Florida" media circus, I'm not convinced that he genuinely thought of leaving Denver. LOL You're right that we don't need an excuse to torment Raider fans, but the possibility that Gannon might not play for them this season (considering who their backups are ;D) is wonderful ammunition.

If I'm not mistaken, the DPO (Schefter) was the source of the  suggestion that there was any sort of estrangement between Shanahan and Griese... and I'm not sure I'm buying it. ???

Yeah, they've already tried to turn it around, implying that Brian is 'fragile'... he missed one game last season due to the concussion (which is an injury that can happen to any QB). Still one mention of Rick Mirer usually renders them 'speechless'... ;D

The RMN has an article that says Beuerlein is ready to compete with JJ in this weekend's minicamp for the backup job... which is good news considering that Gus is gone... I'm not certain that a healthy Beuerlein isn't an upgrade over Gus. I know people say Steve's likely to be rusty, but in actuality, Gus hasn't played that many more games than he has in the last 2 years... and with his past experience in a West coast style of offense, the playbook may be easier for Steve to assimilate...

Oh well, we have a few Bronco fans that also feel Brian is fragile as well...now, if only everyone would stop comparing him to Elway ::) ;D Brian may never be an "Elway" but he is a "Griese" and I'd take that... :D My buess is that we will see a completely different Brian this year...and "team" as well! ;D

How old is Gus?  At 37, Steve can't afford another injury or his career is probably over.  And come to think of it, Gus is also coming off of an injury, so why are a lot of fans wanting him to stay in Denver?   ???

Wouldn't GUS then be MORE FRAGILE than Brian because he was hurt and BRIAN PLAYED ALL BUT ONE GAME! (Just had to reemphasize that! LOL!) ;D

Hi, ladies!

ND, I expected you to be jumping up and down cheering that Gus is gone.  ;D

It was so nice to hear some real football news about minicamp today, rather than all the fluff the reporters have been feeding  us for the last four months.  Oh, the joys of the offseason.

Unfortunately, there are some on the board who apparently will never accept Brian because he isn't a clone of #7. The comparison is unfair, as each athlete is an individual with his own unique assets and liabilities, but any player taking over the reins from a future HOF'er faces a hard uphill battle with some fans. ???

I'm not exactly certain how old Gus is, but I think he may be around 34... I read that he had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his shoulder in December and the reports said he was able to throw the ball without pain during his visit with the Bengals, so his health probably isn't an issue.

Yes, I would agree that Brian's 15 games vs. Gus' half-game would make Gus more 'fragile' (or possibly more 'injury-prone' ;D) than Brian....

Good point about Brian playing all but one game, ND.  I think a lot of people have forgotten about that.  If it hadn't been for the concussion, he would have made it through his first complete season.

Something to think about - this will be the first season (since 1999) that Brian will go into a season without having to rehab his shoulder.  Hopefully that will have a good affect on his playing this season.

Hi, Gudgref! How's life been treating you lately?

I have to admit that Gus is unpredictable... last year, I expected him to sign with the Bengals (or anyone else who was willing to give him a shot at starting) and he stayed in Denver... this year, I really thought he'd stay... and was wrong again! LOL :gus:

Hi, Blue!

Life is treating me very well at the moment.  How are you and your family?

Yeah, I was a little surprised when Gus decided to leave.  Didn't they offer him more money last year?   Go figure.

Midnight Blue

All's going well for my family, too. Baby Blue is growing so fast... she's almost 7 months old now and is crawling, sitting up by herself, and trying to talk. :D Fortunately, she's close enough that I can see her often. :-)

Yeah, I still think Gus made a mistake by waiting until this year to accept the Bengals' offer. Last year's offer was $12 million for 4 years, if I remember correctly... a far cry from the $1.5 million he's getting now... ???

I'm delighted that Shannon's back in orange and blue... I think he's going to make a big difference both in the locker room and on the field.

What do you think of the plan to switch Mobley and Gold?

gudgref
05-03-2002, 11:36 PM
Glad to hear that the baby is growing so fast and is close enough to see often!  My parents have yet to meet their newest grandchild.  :-/

I think the switch with Mobley and Gold sounds like a good one.  From what I've seen, they will be playing more to their physical size and strength.  I just heard this when I got on the board, so I wonder what their response was.

It's good to see Shannon back where he belongs!  They had some shots of him on the news tonight, mouthing off and whipping the team into shape.  Mike Shanahan was standing in the background, laughing.  It's good to see the Broncos smiling about something!

What do you think about McCaffrey's recovery?

Midnight Blue
05-04-2002, 12:00 AM
I'm encouraged by Eddie's recovery from the broken leg. He appears to be making steady progress and may even be ahead of schedule.... but I have to admit to a bit more concern over Rod's stress fracture. Neither he nor Rob Moore is participating in the minicamp. It's not so worrisome with Rob; he's only competing for the #3 spot, but it's gonna really hurt if Rod's not 100% by opening day. I'm anxious to see if Lelie can live up to his hype...

To me, the move with the LB's makes sense, not only in terms of size, but also experience. Mobley's experience makes him the best fit on the strong side... and a bit less pressure is probably good for a young player like Gold.

Taken individually, all of our 'moved' players make sense, and I'm cautiously optimistic about how they'll play, but the sheer number of moves is worrisome. (Trevor to DE, Mike Anderson to FB, Matt Lepsis to LT, Deltha or Willie to safety, and now the LB's.... )

I can understand the twins being upset!  (I wouldn't mind the fishing part myself!)  It's been very cool and rainy here, too, for the last week or so.  We did have one 75 degree day and then it had to be really windy...oh, the joys of living in ND!

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating for the little guys... within the last week we bought them new junior golf clubs as well as the new fishing poles... and now the weather is uncooperative so they can't use any of their new stuff.

We had a nice, busy weekend... we met friends for dinner last night and spent the day visiting family and doing some shopping today. Spent too much money, but oh, well... :D

I didn't even get a chance to open the paint cans!

Friday, I went to water aerobics and worked on a photo album for my mom for Mother's Day and I was so tired, I went to bed by 11....which is really early for me on a weekend.

Saturday, I went to a conference for work.  It lasted until 3:30, so I didn't get home until 4.  I ended up doing a bunch of stuff for work.

Today was a little more relaxing.  I went out to lunch and shopping with a friend...yep, I also spent too much money.  ;D Scheels was having a really good sale and I bought a swimsuit and a teeshirt and pair of shorts...It was so busy in that store.  Worse than Christmas, because it was their 100th anniversary!  I didn't get a chance to check out the new Bronco gear, yet.  I haven't even got a chance to clean my house.  I also wrote a paper (on the conference) for work.

......oh well, my housecleaning will wait ;) ;D

Most of our snow melted as soon as it hit the ground, but when I pulled into my parents' driveway yesterday, there was a mud puddle 8 inches deep...

Some of my best memories of childhood were of working in the kitchen with my Mom and my Grandmother... and I hope to build that same sort of tradition for my kids. I'm just saying that I'm as "typical" as you two. :D

Not much going on here, just trying to wrap up a few projects I'm working on before my final day. Getting out a few resume's and such. I'm hoping I'll start interviewing next week. If all else fails though, I can still go through a temp agency. I've landed a couple of good jobs through them over the years. I just hope my next position lasts more than 2 years....{sigh}

Haven't seen GB very much recently at all. I think he posted a couple of days ago, but mostly hes been MIA.

Time is definately strange this week, and I expect it to continue next week as well. It seems to be crawling on one hand (the part of me thats wanting to get this change over with), and flying by on the other (whenever I realize how much I need to get done by next Friday).

How's things been going with you two?

There was a tree that was cut down before we moved in. Instead of cutting out the stump, they just buried it and now we've got mushrooms all over the place.

<pours beer into frosty mug, hands it and a donut to Alkazar>

What sort of treatment does it take to get rid of mushrooms on your lawn? We usually get a lot of dandelions if we don't use a lot of Weed & Feed... but that's OK because my boys enjoy bringing me huge bouquets of dandelions... which ends up decreasing their numbers because they're picked before they can go to seed. (And that's one kind of 'flower' growing in our yard that I don't mind them picking!)

Unfortunately, I haven't found a cure for the common mushroom, (no I don't smoke em or whatever your supposed to do with em.. ;D) so I'm just gonna re-sod and leave it at that for now. tell you what, why don't you send your kids over my way, I've got a lot of dendelions around my yard that would make a georgeous bouquet for ya... ;) ;D

My kids would definitely pick all the dandelions... :) I get some really impressive bouquets early in the spring... they run out and grab all that they can before their big brother mows the lawn...
Are the mosquitoes out yet in your area, Alkazar? They're already proliferating here... of course, living close to the river, we get millions of them... (OK, millions might be a slight exaggeration, but it sure seems like that many :P )

We're at least a couple of miles from the nearest river, the North Platte, and no lakes to speak of within 10 miles. Also, they're predicting a drought here this summer so I don't think we'll see much of a problem with 'skeeters this year. And you probably aren't exaggerating, they're worse than rabbits when it comes to breeding! ;D :o

No kidding... the worst infestation of mosquitoes I ever saw was a couple of years ago... this one summer evening my Dad, Mr. Blue and I were participating in a 'jam session' at a resort along the river. We were set up outdoors in a gazebo and as it grew dark, the mosquitoes just swarmed all over everyone. We had citronella candles all around (they're supposed to deter insects) but that hardly even slowed them down. At one point, I killed 5 mosquitoes on my Dad's leg with one slap... :o :o Fortunately, he was wearing brand-new denim jeans and they hadn't been able to drill through the heavy fabric... but they were sure trying! Some people left just because the mosquitoes were so bad... and we still refer to the event as "the Great Mosquito Banquet".... :P

Alkazar
05-13-2002, 02:55 PM
I don't think I've experienced anything that bad yet, but I remember one year, back in 74 or 75, we went camping at a small campground near Lake O'Havre here in Colorado and the skeeters were so bad they drove off at least 5 families (including ours) who were camped around the lake.

Midnight Blue
05-13-2002, 03:37 PM
The mosquitoes must have been pretty bad if they chased off 5 families... :o

I think there had just been a fresh hatch of young mosquitoes the night of the Great Mosquito Banquet... I'd never seen them that thick before... it was really amazing... it didn't seem funny the night it happened, but we do look back on it and laugh....

When I came in and ended up coughing up a lung from all the dust, I decided to dig up the Treehouse and replant it where it belongs, on the 1st page. Too wit, I promptly pulled off all the dust covers. After coughing up my other lung, I realized I should have shaken them off outside on the balcony. I then grabbed my trusty leaf blower and proceeded to blow all the dust out the door. After coughing up a third lung I didn't realize I had, I decided I should've just used a broom and swept it up. Now that I've got the Treehouse clean, I need to restock the fridge (unless Blue or someone is willing to do the shopping?) Until then I think I'll take a nap and try to regrow my lungs before I asphixiate....

Hi Blue...It's been pretty good. Kind of quiet...It's been so hot, it's not exactly a good time to be doing anything outside. A beer sounds great!  How has your weekend been going?

Midnight Blue

How hot has it been in North Dakota? It's been in the 90's here but fortunately, it cools off at night... and it's not a humid heat...

My weekend's been good, but busy. I had to make a trip to the "big city" to buy the "mere male's" birthday present. It required driving his old Ford 4x4, though (I hate driving the truck!):gripe: ... because I bought him a 55-inch big screen TV just in time for football. :D (Of course, it's almost as much a gift for myself and the rest of the family, too.)

It's nice watching football on it... we're so anxious for the season to start, we ended up watching a videotape last night. It was the home game against the Chargers from the '97 season. (the last game before the Jags playoff game on our run to SB 32).

Sorry for being so late in answering... my real-life social calendar has recently become a bit busier.... :P

What made me decide to buy the TV (yeah, the original idea was mine.... ;D) was that I saw one on a good clearance sale at WalMart last Thursday... and when I mentioned it to the mere male, he said "Why didn't you buy it?"... (of course, I was in our minivan with 4 of the kids, so buying it then was out of the question.... ) So I decided that was what I wanted to get for his birthday.... but when I took the truck to town, the store was out of the TV's I'd seen earlier. Fortunately, I managed to find another good deal at Best Buy. :D

He actually got his present a couple of days early, as his birthday is tomorrow (well, almost today... it's nearly midnight.) He says to tell you thanks for the "Happy Birthday"... :-)

I've never really gotten into golf... I told the mere male that I'd go to the course with him, but the 'fair division of labor' is for him to chase the little white ball around while I sit on the golf cart and drink beer... :P ;D :D

:giggle: Yet another thing we totally agree on... Tiger Woods. I found it annoying when everyone started talking incessantly about him winning the Grand Slam of golf... ::) It's good to hear the end of that nonsense.

I can understand cameronca... he's one of the Hawaii fans, isn't he? So if Griese struggles, that helps the cause of Rolovich... but the rest of it is just the same comments over and over again on every thread on the board... <sigh> offseason is tedious!!!!

I was surprised that Lelie was still on the board at pick #19... and it would be nice if the Hawaii fans' optimistic predictions turned out to be true... particularly about Rolo, because we signed him dirt cheap... ;D

Monday Night Football can't help being improved this year, with the subtraction of Dan Fouts and Dennis Miller. Fouts just wasn't very entertaining, although he undeniably knows his x's and o's... and Miller is a funny comedian but a lot of his obscure references went right over the top of your average football fan's head. Boomer was also very, very dull... but I like Cris Collinsworth.

If I'm not mistaken, they're still negotiating over Buchanon's contract... but they're getting closer and expect it to be signed soon.
