This is also Brian's fault.
Just haven't figured out exactly how.

I thought this was a thread about getting the Greeks to show up at events because of all the empty seats.

I think it's to show these NBA flava clowns they can't just show up.
This team is a joke and I honestly don't care if they win or lose.
TimmEAH is the only player I respect on that team and that's b/c he is a team player, not a me first kind of guy.
The USA could take lessons from Europe and Latin America on how to play the team game.

I'm greek, my whole family is Greek. My grandparents, ancestors, etc all from Greece on both sides. I've been to the country, read/write/speak the language decently, and take great pride in it. I root for Greek Sports.
All we need now is for them to keep Richard Jefferson in the game, and get a 5th foul on Timmy D.

As long as you always root for the Broncos when they play the Greeks, you're alright with me!

I guess that's a good reason.
Sorry if I jumped on your case. There is a guy at work who is routing against American's no matter who they are against for no reason other then to be a jerk so I wasn't in a mood for somebody else to be saying it.

i cant tell you how bad this team is. arghhh! its so fvcking embarrassing. the U.S won 77-71 but it was soooo ugly. Dwayne Wade is just killing this team with his wannabe superstar playing out there making horrible passes and crappy shot selection. Thank god for Lamar Odom cause he was playing out of his mind defensively. three straight defensive plays on his part helped keep the lead late. Iverson had some key shots early in the game that helped and Labron helped out a bunch early as well but this team just cannot shoot from the outside whatsoever. Greece is one of the worst Olympic teams in the bracket and we struggled big time.

No problem. Yeah, I generally want to see good things from the Americans. I really like these guys, I love the NBA, and wanted them to do well, etc... Until they got matched up with Greece.
The ONLY reason I would root against American BBall is so that their future teams get better.. It's been said a million times already, but whoever puts these teams together needs to put some shooters on this team, as none of them can shoot. They need to remember that for the next olympics, regardless of the medal outcome of this one.
Anyways, good game today, I really liked Greece's effort, even with their best player and point guard out of the game. On the American side, I honestly thought the USA was screwed when Tim Duncan fouled out, but they dug deep and got it done. That is a step in the right direction for them.

What a poorly officiated game for the Americans. The 5th foul on Duncan was as bad as it gets.
I'll hand it to the players that wanted to rep their country, guys like Iverson, Duncan and LeBron. Nobody wants them to win, even in the US. Every team they play is giving it their absolute best shot to knock off the big dog, big money Americans. They are getting screwed by the refs.
Richard Jefferson and Stephon Marbury are horrible, just horrible.
I hope, miracle of miracles, that they win the gold.

Imagine is we had M. Redd and Rip Hamilton in place of Jefferson and Marbury. This team was picked so bad there's no way to put it into words. I feel bad for Duncan.

The only reason this team was picked so bad is because everyone was scared of going over there because of terrorist stuff...well that and Kobe can't keep certain things in his pants. The one thing this team is missing is a true assist man. I haven't had a chance to watch them...but it seems like we got to many one on one superstarts(AI, Lebron, Wade, Marbury) Larry Brown may be a good coach...but he proved he can't coach superstars with AI in Philly...and its totally coming through once again.

I have watched all their games and what they need is pure shooters. Iverson has been more than willing to pass the ball to who ever. The problem is the foreign teams are putting 4 and 5 people in the lane when we pass it inside. We have NO pure shooters to pass it out to and this is the problem.

It wouldn't take a dream team to win the gold. It will most likely take a better team than we have though.

So how did AI do without Larry? Or am I confused about which one got a ring?
