View Full Version : Most over-rated team this year?

The preseason polls are out, and who do you think is the most over-rated team of them all currently?

Give me Iowa, Cal, and West Virginia as the top 3 most over-rated teams. Cal is ranked #14 and I don't think they're good enough to compete for the Pac 10 title even.

Iowa is a team too tough to tell, they've lost a lot the past 2 years, question is if they have enough talent to fill those holes now. Plus the Big 10 with OSU and Michigan is going to be tough for them.

West Virginia is getting all the press because Miami and VT are out of the Big East and it puts them as the favorites now. They aren't the 10th best team in the country, and now play a chump schedule cause the Big East sucks. They'll lose a few games this year and will finish maybe in the top 20.

West Virginia is still living off that Miami game last year. They need to show me more than that to be ranked as high as they are. Missouri at #18? I can't see it. I know QB Brad Smith is back, but I just don't see them finishing nearly that high. Heck..KU might even beat them... :spit:

WVU did have a pretty good team last year, barely lost to Miami and beat both VT and Pitt to finish 7-1 in the Big East.

But with their QB, RB, and WR all gone now, they're more of a rebuilding team right now, and I think they got such a high ranking just because they're the Big East favorites.

While I don't think we're the most over-rated team this year, I will even say that we are over-rated for the preseason polls.

We just lost 15 guys to the draft, including all of our offensive skill positions and I believe that we need to provew ourselves first before getting a #9 ranking.

as for guybrush, I'm just curious where you live at to say that Zwick sucks? I saw him a handful of times at Canton Massillon and he was an absolute stud there, I was either going to his games or Warren Harding games to see a senior RB named Maurice Clarett play there. I think Zwick will be a fine QB for my team, just needs to be more polished as he's only thrown 8 times at the collegiate level, if anything, it'll be the supporting cast that lets the team down and not Zwick(Ross at RB must produce as well to get the pressure off Zwick.)

well, I'm going to be the opposite, and state my most under rated team in NCAA...and thats Memphis...they will have a top 10 offense at the end of the year...I dont see them ranked in either of the top 25 polls...

Well, he might not be terrible, but I dont think he will be good either. I guess it is my anti-OSU bias coming out. Sorry about that. I live about 5 minutes north of Akron btw.

Miami rank number 5? Miami is ranked higher than Ohio St if you can believe that.

It's understandable, but not understandable that you live in Ohio and aren't a Bucks fan hmmm...

Zwick will have all the chances in the world to succeed, and Troy Smith doesn't look like a bad option at QB for us either, I think we'll still be a strong team this year, but we shoudl need to show it before they're gonna give us a #9 ranking.

I'll take it though.

Surprising no one has mentioned UTex, but maybe it doesn't need saying... :(

I think the D will carry us this year, our LB corps is the best in the nation in my opinion. We are always good on the corners.

I am excited about Zwick, who I think will add an explosiveness to the O. He will make his mistakes but I think he will make some great throws too.

I would have to agree. Brad Smith is an awesome QB, but he isn't the second coming. MU has the potential to be good, but I don't see them winning the North.

OSU needs for the "D" to carry it until Zwick gets it together. After the Cincinatti game he damn sure needs to quit dropping the ball on the floor.

From the looks of the games over the weekend, Notre Dame needs to petition to change to Div 3A

I'm also going to go opposite on you. Nebraska is pretty under-rated they should win the big 12 north them or mizzou. and k-state is deffinetely overrated losing roberson and leckey hurt bad. and when you beat the div 1 AA hilltoppers by 14 points you know they will struggle

I'm not sure what to think about K-State. They did look sloppy in their win, and the QB position is a big question. The nebraska :homer: in me wants to believe that NU could take the north, but it will all depend on who progresses the most by the time Big XII play gets started.

I take that back the whole Big 12 North is overrated Mizzou, KSU, and the Huskers all went down, to lower ranked oppenents.

One team however is underrated. 2-0 when some had us being 0-2 right now.

I wanted to say Clemson but they already fell...

I like Purdue and Minnesota a lot. Think they will surpass Michigan, OSU, and Iowa this year.
