Star Wars fans...book?

I have read a few of the books and I really loved them. I keep going to several different book stores and asking them about the order of the books, but they never know. I know some of the books have time lines in them, but I cant seem to find out anything about the first books about the Sith. Anyone know the names of the books or where I can find out? Thanks.

I once saw a star wars fan website that has a timeline for the star wars universe with events and books and what not. It might have been on theforce.net It was huge though so I don't know if thats the best way to go.
