Since this is the direction the campaign is going... I thought I'd throw this one out there...

Bush refused to take a physical while in the Reserves (http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2004/02/12/bushs_loss_of_flying_status_should_have_spurred_pr obe/)

Like Kerry hyping his military service, when Bush put on his flight suit and declared Mission Accomplished, he was leaning on his past military service... Service in which he was given the kind of training that only few Americans get the opportunity to do, only to later refuse to take a drug test. Afterwhich, all the records get really, really hazy (if not outright lost sometimes).

Of course, when an NFL Player refuses a drug test, he is the subject of a lot of scorn.

This is where the campaign is going, so might as well educate yourselves on the topic now...

It's going to get ugly...

He blew it off. So? He doesn't deny it. He was honorably discharged and was working on a campaign. And it wasn't a drug test, it was a physical. Your going to tell me that Kerry and Co. were not indulging on some week in Nam?

The point is that Kerry is wrapping himself in a dubious situation and expects it to be both ways. Anti-war yet great War Hero, while totally ignoring his Senate voting record.

I'm just sayin'... This is where it's going. And don't kid yourself about why Bush refused to take the physical.

Kerry is the one who brought up the war hero at the convention while skipping to the Gerbil story.

Bush was busy with the SMOTS patrol in Laos at that time trying to root out Marlon Brando.

It's highly classified.

Maybe Bush refused to take the physical because he didn't want anyone to find out about a bum knee... I don't know.

I doubt that's it, though...

This is where it's going.

For the majority who didn't want bush in the WH, this story is old news. Nice to know it's getting more well-deserved play, nonetheless.

And don't kid yourself about why Bush refused to take the physical.

I won't. ;)

BTW, both Dim Son and his sidekick James Bath (the American representative for that Saudi banker who was financing al Qaeda) refused to take the physical.

What's wrong with Kerry's Senate record? He was out front on Graham/Rudman. He was out front on the Welfare Reform Act. He's always been fiscally conservative, like Clinton - for balanced budgets. He led the BCCI investigation and was a big part of the Iran-Contra investigation. You'll notice the weapons systems he voted against? Cheney also voted against half of them. So did many Repubs. He voted down intel budgets in 1990. I guess he didn't see the need to keep 2,000 Russian interpreters on the budget. Some around here love to rub Kerry's face in the Apache helicopter nay vote. A few months later, Cheney gave a speech to a bunch of military commanders and told them the U.S. government is not some kind of candy store where you get everything you want. There were three helicopter platforms and the military was going to get one - and it wasn't going to be the Apache.
