Starship, The Grass Roots, Three Dog Night and Pat Benatar? (http://www.windmillenterprises.net/rockfestival/comstockrock.htm)

I did this last Saturday, and must say I was pleasantly suprised.... Starship played a bunch of old Jefferson Airplane stuff and was probably the best band there that night :peace: (after I slammed them the whole trip down) The Grass Roots were pretty good too.... after that I was pretty much too drunk to care and more interested in seeing how many coeds I could get to show me the goods for some cheap Mardi Gra beads..... :militia:

Wow....you'd have to drag me to a show like that...actually The Grass Roots and 3 Dog Night I could handle...the other two I'd be drinking it up in the parking lot during their sets.

Hey, at least you got wasted, gave away some beads for peeks and had a great time...what more can anyone ask for?

I'll bet that was a good show..... we don't get many good concerts in Nebraska.... I've drove as far as Denver and Chicago to see concerts. Van Halen/Haggar are going to be in Omaha in a couple weeks..... anybody have any reviews on their latest tour?

I would go just to see Pat Benatar. Very talented and so smokin' hot when I was a teen. Please tell me she still looked good!

I would go see Pat Benetar in a heartbeat. She actually rocked in her early years and hopefully can still bring it for a song or two.
It would have to be alot of $$ to get me to see any of the others listed.

Well, this year I'm paying for the tickets, but they do have a much better lineup. I'm gonna stay for all four days this time.

Cheap Trick
ZZ Top
38 Special
Quiet Riot
Grand Funk Railroad
UFO
Walter Trout
Joan Jett

Comstock Rock (http://comstockrock.com/) or as Hogan called it "Compost Rock" ;D

I've seen Cheap Trick before and they put on a great show so I'm looking forward to that. 38 Special kicks ass live too. Other than that it will be nice to just to get away from everything for a few days, listen to some tunes, and drink myself into a coma.

Not quite Compost this year Ha! I like Cheap Trick a lot as they are one of the longest running power pop bands in history and I imagine they rely upon the older material for the majority of their set. I last seen them wayyyy back in 1983 and haven't gotten around to check them out since..but I would without any arm twisting, believe me.

Other than that, I really like Grand Funk Railroad and UFO a lot and would love to see them. I can stomach 38 Special in small doses (let's say a set)..the rest I'd be out in the parking lot drinking thru I think.....ZZ Top especially pisses me off in that it's talent wasted for the most part...they hit it big with that goofy synth sound as a backing track on Eliminator and never let go of it....they've been coasting ever since. Billy Gibbons is a great guitar player, no disputing that...but he could do so much more than he does and it makes me mad...as a result, I don't know if I could sit thru a set of theirs or not now.

You couldn't make me go to a concert. Not even at gunpoint. Last one I saw was Steppenwolf, and that was in the middle of a Colorado Flames Hockey Game, so I was trapped and couldn't escape without missing the third period.

I saw Cheap Trick in '94.... great stage presence and an excellent show. I saw 38 Special sandwiched between REO and Skynard.... they were pretty good in camparision.

I agree with your take on ZZ top. I liked their early stuff... La Grange has one of the coolest blues riffs there is.... but their later stuff leaves a lot to be desired IMO.

I would go just to see Pat Benatar.

I'm in VERY MUCH agreement with this. I would want Pat Benatar to play and leave the other bands at home. If the ticket and the ride is free, I'll sit through the other bands, though.

My exact sentiments.

Another reason to see Pat Benatar is her guitar player (and husband) Neil Geraldo. Some of the solos and parts he played on her early records were bad to the bone.
