Huh. Wonder if this could be related to the climate....changing?

Irma is closing in on the Leeward Islands with 185 mph winds. Catastrophic damage expected

Yeah we've had over a decade since Katrina, Rita, Emily, and Wilma scared the alarmists in the 2005 hurricane season. It's all Bush's fault. Obama kept the hurricanes away. Thanks Trump for bringing them back.

While in the Pacific, they've had the biggest typhoons ever recorded. Now, we're back to the Atlantic.

Yep, hurricanes are the oceans way of cooling itself off. The more heat in the water the bigger and more frequent the hurricanes become.

And as world wide sea temperatures continue to rise, the storms will only get bigger. I remember a climatologist a few years back saying if we don't do something to stop the rising temperatures, we will eventually see a storm that could cross over Florida and, in his words, "...not leave a blade of grass in the ground."

My son's in laws live down there about 175 miles north of Miami. They are elderly. They couldn't get plywood or screws as they couldn't carry it. Now there is none. They are hesitant to try and go north as his eyesight is poor and she just had hip surgery. My daughter in law has been on social media trying to find out any shelters being set up or someone that has plywood. Nothing. She said there were numerous elderly on there asking for help. Very worried about them and made me think about all the elderly in Florida experiencing the same thing.

That's awful, gunns. I hope this thing takes a big right turn, and heads out into the Atlantic. If not, maybe the 175 miles of land slows it down to something manageable.

CNN)All eyes are on Hurricane Irma as it rampages through the Caribbean, but it's not alone.

Tropical storms Jose and Katia strengthened Wednesday afternoon, bringing the number of hurricanes churning in the Atlantic basin to three.
It's the first time since 2010 that three active hurricanes have been in the Atlantic, according to CNN Weather.

They did. I have to commend Florida for the help they put in place. Someone came with the plywood and put it up for them. They had to pay for it and paid them twice what it cost they were so greatful. They then were evacuated to south Alabama.
