I don't understand mansions. I understand lofts, penthouses etc.

These types of homes, grabbing a sandwich and then going to the place you want to eat it at is like a 5 minute walk. It's so inefficient that people end up picking their own little corners in the house and staying there, with all the things they need in that little corner.

An acre of land here in Hong Kong on "The Peak" will cost that much.... or more. No house included. A deal at 22 million

Also, The next door neighbor's house is also for sale.... 1/2 the size and price.

Seems to be a very cold house. Do not like the décor at all. Would love that pool and bowling alley though. Would hate cleaning that thing. Why do people need that much room?

Agreed and well stated.

A place like that could be a high-end long term...expensive B&B, but it seems silly.

I know Shanny has done well for himself, but has he done that well? The number of people who can afford a 22 million dollar house that won't just build one themselves is pretty small. That is a big house on a coaches salary, for a coach who's been out of the game for a few years.

Since the only recorded mortgage on the property was for $8,000,000 in 2009 I tend to doubt this.

Listing agent Sandy Weigand of The Kentwood Company said the Shanahans are downsizing but will stay in Cherry Hills Village.

“Mike and Peggy are committed to Denver and will remain in Denver,” Weigand said in an interview. In part because the couple don’t entertain as much as they used to — the house was used recently for a Donald Trump fundraiser hosted by the Shanahans and Pete Coors — and their children live out of state, they’re looking to move “into a smaller home that better fits their current lifestyle,” she said.

And mainly this. It doesn't appear to be next to anything. An ocean, lake, mountain, river.

Still do not see the point building a home that big in that area. It doesn't back up to anything. Maralago in Palm Beach. I get that.

I know what you are saying, but it is just minutes away from downtown Denver and the the mountains are an hour away. As far as residential real estate in Denver, it's as good as it gets.
