NE is healthy on offense

Collins status is huge for NE

Harris status is huge for Broncos

Playing in Denver is huge for the Broncos.

Going with my homer call, 23 - 20 Broncos

A pick six by Danny Trevathan is the difference.

27-23 Broncos

My brain says we lose. With Harris limited, I cannot see us limiting Edelman enough to stop the chains from moving.

My heart says we win! Denver gets pressure up in Brady's grill, our receivers do not drop 7 passes, and we get a turnover again to turn the tide.

this game falls on the shoulders of our pass rush and OL more than any other. if we can pressure Brady all day and we can open holes for Hillman and CJ... then NE will have trouble beating us. we want long drives to limit the number of possessions Brady gets. we want to get TDs instead of settling for FGs. we want Brady to start with long fields, so Colquitt needs to bring his A+ game. Gronk and the rest of their smurf receivers are going to get some catches. can't stop that. we need our secondary to tackle well and limit their YAC. we do all of this and don't turn the ball over and we win. if we have a slew of 3-and-outs and settling for FGs instead of TDs and we lose.

Definitely playing basic football against the Pats is HUGE. Pass, catch, TACKLE, Special Teams play.

Kicking FG's after obtaining GREAT field position is not an option if we want to beat the Pats.

I suppose the best part of this game vs the Pats is that their offense has no explosive players like the Steelers do.

Bottom line is that Peyton needs a game for the scrapbook. One that we all remember down the line.

For the right reasons.

On D, 3rd downs are gonna be the difference.

Turnovers can/would render all of the above moot.

Agapeman
01-19-2016, 12:03 PM
On defense we need to play man and hit Gronk and company off the line to disrupt Brady's timing to give the pass rush a chance. Get back to doing what they have all year. On offense it's about ball control but staying in the hurry up to wear them down and keep their offense off the field.

After the Pitt game Sunday I was pessimistic about the Championship and still kinda am, but if everything goes right and Wade keeps the hammer down and Kubes gets more creative and maybe lets Peyton be Peyton a little more it may happen.

It took a fluke for NE to win the SB last year.

But will Denver's offense show up? We must put up 30 points to win it.

A lot of times, wide receivers can have all the speed in the world, but cannot run a route to save their life or catch a ball. Route running and hands trumps speed any day of the week. Now, if you can get all three together, look out!

It took a "fluke" throw and catch for NE to almost lose the SB as well last year, same as in their 2 SB losses to the Giants. Giants made great NFL plays to beat Pats and Pats made a great NFL play to beat the Seahawks. If Seattle could have contained Brady and the Pats in the 4th quarter, it wouldn't have come down to that last play. Butler's interception was not a fluke, it was perfect positioning and execution on his part. It was a coaching mistake that led to that play even happening. Who knows, maybe Marshawn fumbles the ball or a false start gets called and that leads to another discussion. Anything can happen on any play.

I get the feeling that the Broncos are going to have to win the game in the air because Belichick is going to take away the run. If they can somehow establish a running game despite this, I think it bodes well for the Broncos.

While I'd love to see an outside the box offensive game plan, I think they will try and protect the football, move the chains, and play great defense.

However, it seems like every one of these playoff games is crazy and goes against what everyone is thinking. Arizona was supposed to blow the doors off of GB, Carolina was supposed to be in a dogfight where many picked Seattle to win, KC was supposedly the team that matched up the best with New England but were badly outplayed. Denver was supposed to have an easy time with Pittsburgh due to Brown and Big Ben's injuries. Who knows how this one will play out. I think it will be a great game regardless.

vs SD: 5 giveaways and won
vs Pitt: 7 dropped passes and won

The Broncos have a pretty good defense going up against the only offensive line in the league worse than our own.

And at home, which will take away the Pats* homefield headphone advantage.

The Harris situation is hairy, but the Mile Hi ghost won't allow the Pats* to win this one, even if he/she/it has to come crawling up through two feet of concrete out in the parking lot.

34 - 17

Broncos dominate on the ground. Huge game from CJ.

I think it really all comes down to either Hillman getting hurt or Kubiak finally taking his Forsett glasses off. Last game against NE was headed straight to blowoutville until CJ single-handedly gave the Broncos an offense.

I've always been the "RBs aren't important" type, but when one is a top 10 talent and the other is worse than the current version of Tatum Bell, it makes a difference. And Kubiak refuses to try to win for some reason.

I really don't get how two games of Hillman slightly out-performing an injured CJ on a new offense earned him the starting job, but CJ dominating for the last 15 weeks hasn't earned him back what was originally his.

My brain says the QB and coaching give the Pats an edge. It also says a dominating D and home field are legitimate equalizers. My brain looks at how statistical data crunchers seem to be favoring the Broncos while the hive mind clump of sports media tools (is there any other profession that so avidly rewards stupidity?) and east coast homers are heavily favoring the Patriots, and my brain says the data crunchers are more credible.

My heart hopes the team rallies around getting Manning his last shot and glory, and acknowledges it's a potentially wonderful story in the making... ala Elway getting his last shots after the Jacksonville heart break and Ray Bourque finally lifting the Stanley Cup. Here was a guy who had a phenomenal career, but who just three weeks ago seemed destined to end his career as a backup with his final moment on the field being getting pulled after the worst performance of his career, and possibly one of the worst by a professional starting quarterback in league history. All this being one game short of setting the all time wins record to boot. That was three weeks ago, and today he has a chance to win one game to return to the Super Bowl, where he'll have a chance to re-write his legacy the same way Elway and Bourque did. Sometimes we do get Hollywood/Disney style happy endings in sports, and Colorado fans got to witness two of the best examples of it. Here's to one more.

The betting action in Las Vegas is piling up on the New England Patriots, leaving sportsbooks with a decision heading into championship Sunday.

On Saturday, the Patriots were holding steady as three-point favorites over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. The money was lopsided on New England.

At Caesars Palace sportsbooks, five times as much money had been wagered on the Patriots compared to the underdog Broncos. At William Hill's Nevada book, 85 percent of the money bet was on New England. The story was the same almost everywhere. Barring a dramatic rush of game-day money on the Broncos, Vegas will be a big Peyton Manning fan on Sunday...http://espn.go.com/chalk/story/_/id/14632234/money-continues-pile-new-england-patriots-las-vegas

I think this game could be a lot like last week. We know McD\Brady > Kubes/manning, so we need Manning to be mistake free and we need the defense to make possibly 1 or 2 huge plays. Saying that, I think we'll win bc we have more playmakers and unlike previous years there's no pressure. We'll be playing to win, not to lose. 24-23.

I don't know how I feel about this game. Last week I knew we 'should' have won but I am familiar with the feeling of getting excited and knowing the Broncos 'should' win only to see the team not show up at all. I saw the Broncos gut it out, stay patient and win in the end. Now the 'experts' are all saying the Patriots will win this game. The experts also all said that Green Bay was going to beat the Broncos when John Elway and Broncos won that game to prove them all wrong. I think the Broncos hear all the experts picking against them and will be in the proper frame of mind. I think the Broncos will win. I hope the Broncos will win. 27-19 Broncos.
