Why is Hillman still starting !!!!!!! Anderson is clearly so much better !

Last night hillman starts first half Anderson starts second half.

They need to split carries - neither back has durability to be playing heavy majority of snaps.

CJ isn't what everyone thinks he is or can be. Hillman seems to be blocking better.

Yep. I don't think CJ can handle the majority of snaps. Notice he waves to the sidelines several times a game? No real starter here, but I would like to see CJ in there on a 3rd and 2 instead of hillman.

They need to rotate. CJ has been hurt this season and when not hurt he seems to gas easily.
This is one of the reasons why I say we need to draft a RB.
Hillman is a FA, CJ has durability concerns and we need a infusion of talent into the RB stable.

The Hillman hate is ridiculously overblown around here.

I don't hate him. He's a decent RB but CJ is better.

Only 1 RB in the NFL could fit through these holes. Tiny ass Hillman.

I said this in another thread, and apparently I need to repeat it here, but some of you are way over-interpreting the term "starter" when it comes to the RB positions.

CJ had 37 snaps to Ronnie's 33, and Ronnie had just 1 more carry at 16 to CJ's 15 carries. Though CJ got more targets, 3 to 1.

As others have said in this thread and others-- ad nauseam, both CJ and Ronnie have some durability issues, and must be limited on their carries. I just think some fans seem to be more bothered about this more so than even the two RB's.

One of my biggest criticisms of this roster is our RB talent, or lack thereof.

We've got two 10-15 touch RBs on this roster that are both change of pace caliber backs. Behind them, we have NOTHING!!!!

As banged up as this team has been this season, we are ridiculously lucky that both of these guys have only had minor knicks thus far. Hope we can continue to stay on the good side of the juju train.

Also, I like the early Hillman heavy rotation that allows CJ to come in later in games and be more effective against the tired D.

I agree . We do need to draft a rb . While I think CJ is the better talent of the two , he's not a work horse back .

Just draft Elliott and be done with it.

Rushing output is much better w/ Hillman starting, Anderson in relief than vice versa. Don't screw with what works.

Think he might have a point. We've been running pretty good.

They were treading on thin ice yesterday as far as RB depth goes because Thompson was inactive.

On NFL.com they said just the opposite.

More like the rushing output is much better now that his foot's not ****ed up. I don't think the depth chart position affected that. Not hating on Hillman though, he's had a great year, I just love me some CJ.

Been saying this for several years. We did try to upgrade a few years ago with the Ball pick, he turned out to be a bust. We need to keep trying.

Thompson is a waste of a Roster spot

Time to move on...

Slow and scared, concussions ruined him....NEXT

Back in the wildcard round in 97 with Kubiak as OCI remember him having a trio getting over 300 yds and I think all 3 scored. Not EVEN trying to compare O line Shlereth,Zimmerman,Tony Jones and the RBs Davis, who got hurt and Loville and Hebron stepped up.

Guess what I am asking is why Kubes doesn't have a 3rd option/backup at RB?

Why is Thompson inactive? Really hoping that there is more than Hillman and Anderson.

Agreed. Tired of a run first offense with a crappy O-line and subpar talent at RB

Check out the roster at the team site.
How many ol and wr are we carrying?
Then ask yourself why is the roster so unbalanced or compromised?

It's not all on Kubiak.

There were several plays where I saw CJ take himself out to the sidelines after a run. Don't think he's 100%.

It would be nice to have either back in , instead of an empty backfield and shot gun.

Nothing grinds my gears more than an empty backfield...even more so on short yardage/inside the 5.

The only guy i'd consider with a high draft pick would be Derrick Henry, otherwise, just keep building the O-line.

Especially in the successful 2 point conversion.
