Best blurbs:

“I think everyone knows his comments were ridiculous,” Kaepernick said at the Super Bowl XLVIII media center in Midtown, referring to the FOX postgame interview in which Sherman mocked 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree and proclaimed himself the best cornerback in the NFL.

“As my dad has always told me, if you have to tell people how good you are, then how good are you really?” Kaepernick added. “If you have to go on national TV and try to say you’re the best cornerback in the league, then you’ve got your own insecurities.”

and

Kaepernick said he looks forward to meeting Sherman and the Seahawks at least twice next season — and vowed that he will never fear Sherman, no matter how badly the throw to Crabtree turned out.

“I’ll take that matchup every day,” Kaepernick said. “I feel like he’s afraid of our receivers, and that’s something I look forward to [exploiting] next year.”

and of course:

“Go Peyton!” Kaepernick said.

My concern is that he's the return of some prophecied Pharoah.

Evidence:

1. Look at his face.

2. The tattoos are probably some Egyptian ritual or scrawlings of heiroglyphs from the Book of the Dead.

3. He's adopted into a white family so there's further mystery on his biological background.

Hypothesis:

Kaepernick was cursed to wander (via his long stride) the world as a living mummy until an off-shoot of a surviving Egyptian cult (*ref: the Kaepernick family) found his cursed remains, unwrapped, and sent him to High School to indocrinate him into American society under the auspices of football.

I thought Wagner was somewhat decent, until all the crap that has been coming out of his mouth this week.

According to reports, Broncos had an extremely physical practice on Wednesday. As in, the Broncos are gearing to tattoo the Seahawks to the Metlife stadium carpet.

Why do tattoos equal thug?

Well it tends to be a cultural thing with people who are bad apples.
That has more to do with branding than anything else but in general, if you wish to get certain jobs or be taken seriously in a non musical or acting genre than it is best not to tat yourself up.

Most companies won't even hire you if you can't cover up the tattoo so as to keep their image in good standing.

With that said. Kaep is full of ****. He constantly talks about being disrespected because of where he was drafted or what people say about his skillset and yet then denounces Sherman for having no problem saying he's the top CB.

There is nothing wrong with saying how good you are so long as you can back it up.

Please tell me you're joking. He has proven nothing to warrant elite status.
He is not even a better QB than Wilson.
He has some nice moments but is way too inconsistent to ever be called elite at this stage.

You know who the elite QB's are in this game? Manning,Rodgers,Brees & Brady.
Kaep is in that 2nd or 3rd tier of QB's(depending on how you rank the tier's) but still behind Ryan,Wilson,Newton,Luck,Romo,Roethlisberger,Rivers ,Tannehill & RGIII.
He is a great athlete but his QB play is sub par a lot of the time. He still has a lot of growing to do as a QB. He is crappy at touch passing, his reads are off by a wide margin on too many occasions. He has a rocket arm but he mechanics and mental game need a lot of work.
If he continues to develop then in 2 years he could be in that elite category, but if he doesn't he will eventually be seen in the same light as Alex Smith and Joe Flacco.

I don't see that happening. First, Crabtree is a average WR at best. Second, he is bad at touch passes and I really don't see him improving enough in that regard to make Sherman pay.

The way Sherman plays you have to be extremely precise with the throw he uses the sideline very well to limit the ability of the receiver to use the space to his advantage.

Man...I want a nasty rivalry like this brewing in the AFCWest - a bit jealous.

Per Wiki...pretty amazing background...especially the part where he played for the Wolfpack.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milwaukee,_Wisconsin) to Heidi Russo, who at the time was 19 years old and single. She placed him for adoption with Rick and Teresa Kaepernick, a couple who had two kids already—son Kyle and daughter Devon—and were looking for a boy after having lost two other sons to heart defects (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_defect).[27] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-reily-27)[28] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-28) Kaepernick became the youngest of their three children. He lived in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fond_du_Lac,_Wisconsin), until age four, and attended grade school in Turlock, California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turlock,_California).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-NYT-1)[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-Adelson-3)
Kaepernick is a Christian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity). He was baptized (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baptized) Methodist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methodist), confirmed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation) Lutheran (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutheran), and attended a Baptist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baptist) church during his college years.[29] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-Saracevic-29) Kaepernick spoke about his faith saying, "My faith is the basis from where my game comes from. I’ve been very blessed to have the talent to play the game that I do and be successful at it. I think God guides me through every day and helps me take the right steps and has helped me to get to where I’m at. When I step on the field, I always say a prayer, say I am thankful to be able to wake up that morning and go out there and try to glorify the Lord with what I do on the field. I think if you go out and try to do that, no matter what you do on the field, you can be happy about what you did."[30] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-30)
Kaepernick has multiple tattoos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattoos). His right arm features a scroll with the Bible verse Psalm 18:39 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psalm_18) written on it. Tattooed under the scroll are praying hands with the phrase "To God The Glory" written on them. To the left of both the scroll and praying hands is the word "Faith" written vertically. His left arm features a Christian cross with the words "Heaven Sent" on it referring to Jesus. Written above and below the cross is the phrase "GOD WILL GUIDE ME". Written to the left and right of the cross is the Bible verse Psalm 27:3. His chest features the phrase "Against All Odds" and artwork around it that represents "inner strength, spiritual growth, and humility". His back features a mural of angels against demons.[31] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-31)[32] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-32)[33] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-33)[34] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-34)
When he was 10 years old, Kaepernick acquired a pet tortoise named Sammy. The tortoise since has grown to weigh 115 pounds.[35] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-35) When he was in 4th grade, Kaepernick wrote himself a letter, predicting that he would be 6 feet 4 inches, 190 pounds, and would "then go to the pros and play on the Niners or Packers even if they aren't good in seven years,"[36] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-36) predictions which became accurate except for his weight.
Near the end of the 2012 NFL season, Kaepernick's signature touchdown celebration earned him a photo fad by his namesake, called "Kaepernicking". The signature touchdown pose involves flexing and kissing the bicep of his right arm. Kaepernick says he kisses his "Faith", "To God The Glory", and Psalm 18:39 tattoos and the reason he does the celebration is because "...it's my way of saying I don't really care what people think about my tattoos" and "God has brought me this far. He has laid out a phenomenal path for me. And I can't do anything but thank Him."[37] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kaepernick#cite_note-37)

Eh, Sherman is actually all right in my opinion (on top of being a phenomenal player). I think people are too hard on him. He looked dumb in that after game interview, but hell who cares? He seems like a pretty intelligent guy when you listen to him otherwise. Our society is so bent on having men suppress those base instincts we have, and I think that is probably for the best but when a guy goes berserk after a highly adrenalized experience, it's kind of a normal reaction. Vikings called them berserker warriors, those guys went so nuts in battle that people thought they were possessed by wild animals.

Sherman is an interesting case because he has that tough edge (he grew up in Compton right?), but he has also really applied himself to education and making himself into something more than just an athlete. I like him. I mean I won't like him Sunday, but overall I like him.

Yeah, that one you kind of let go. I've said some things here and there . . . . .

I really don't think Kap is much more than Tebow with a little better accuracy and a better throwing motion.

For the record I love me some Carolina Chocolate Drops, "Cornbread and Butterbeans" is a great throw back to the days of Mississippi Mud that was covered by Bing Crosby, Frank Trambauer, and the Great Bix Beiderbecke as well as Satchmo in his Hot Fives and Sevens. I have been reading up and listening to a lot of 1920's Jazz and love throwback bands like CCD and Pokey Lafarge and love that Boardwalk Empire has brought those great old songs and acts back to a new audience.

Coming from a dude named Orange Monkey I don't see the outrage.

To be even more racist the band leader who recorded Bing and Bix's version of Mississippi Mud was Paul Whiteman. Guess what, he was a white man named Paul! How scandalous!

I thought Wagner was somewhat decent, until all the crap that has been coming out of his mouth this week.

According to reports, Broncos had an extremely physical practice on Wednesday. As in, the Broncos are gearing to tattoo the Seahawks to the Metlife stadium carpet.

Well when a team talks the talk then walks the walk it only leaves the opponents to cry sour grapes in the media. Wagner talks but shows up and plays. Same with the rest of the Seahawks.

Yo, Kap...learn how to do something besides running when the D has it's back turned upfield. Learn how to make clutch plays instead of key turnovers. Learn how to not love the sound of your voice so much. Be grateful you have a sb team to lean on. Be happy at soft excuses and lowered expectations for young qbs now. Enjoy the butter soft rules for offense. And eat a sandwich. Those bony legs are painful to look at. I wouldn't even waste my time with you, something might crack in half.

Yeah, after the SB, I've got nothing to say about the Seahawks.

hoo boy this thread. Kaep is awesome because of how confused and uncomfortable he makes white ppl by having tattoos while playing the most white-dominated position in sports.

"closet thug" lmao get outta here.

Tatoos are common and overdone by all races... people are out of ideas and originality. The whole premise is stupid...people get them to be seen or there's no point... but what makes them think anyone cares or even wants to see them? Give me beautiful, lustrous skin any day without the stupid and ugly crap that looks like dirt and varicose veins.
