View Full Version : Peter King: "Today's Seahawk practice fastest I've seen in nine years of covering Super Bowl"

Peter King via Twitter: Nine times I've been a SB pool reporter. Today's the fastest practice I've covered at a SB. Carroll loved hearing that.

Interesting. Seattle is extremely young, talented, and healthy.

How will that match up against a veteran passer in PM?

I think NE fans like King want the Seahawks to win more than Seattle does.

Just more hype from a guy who will never be invited to a Broncos SB practice.

Isn't this what practice is for? Doesn't Seattle HAVE to do this? I think somebody posted timed offenses per snap against Seattle and it was the slowest in the league. Carroll would be stupid to not run a fast practice and get them acclimated to the speed they will see vs. Denver considering we were the 2nd fastest per snap this season. Good coaches do that. I'd be more shocked if it he didn't.

For what its worth, here is his article via DPO:

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_25021652/seahawks-open-practice-super-bowl-at-quick-pace

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — In their first full practice of Super Bowl week, the NFC champion Seahawks worked at a mostly breakneck pace for 90 minutes on the artificial turf inside the New York Giants' indoor facility and opened five doors around the building attempting to simulate the temperatures they're likely to feel Sunday. The temperature outside midway through practice: 22 degrees. Inside: 36, a few degrees off the projected temperature at kickoff for Super Bowl XLVII Sunday night.

Seattle had only one player of 61 on the regular roster and practice squad who did not work during the unpadded practice at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center: running back Marshawn Lynch (knee). But that's not unusual, coach Pete Carroll said after practice. "Everybody's fine," Carroll said. "This is the day we rest Marshawn. Wednesday is always a rest day for him. We've been doing that for years, and it's always worked out great. We're in great shape. We're just as fortunate as can be to be in this kind of shape this late in the year."

Lynch was in good spirits throughout the practice, at one point acting as a half-speed cornerback as Russell Wilson put the offensive first unit through its paces. Lynch spent a couple of minutes talking to club owner Paul Allen and GM John Schneider, who watched practice together from the sidelines. The other three players who had been questions marks after the NFC title game 10 days ago all practiced without limitation on Wednesday.

King loves Seattle almost as much as he does NE.

It's King's "coffeenerdidness" or,whatever the that useless sack of meat calls it. Christ is a simpering pail of dog****. And that's his high water mark. He is master of stating the obvious and has the stones to be condescending about it. Like he's Moses descended from on high to inform us cretins that 11 men are allowed on the field per team in the game of American tackle football. What a self important cocksocket.

Yeah, it's only smart to work at a breakneck speed for the Big Game. They made it, it's only smart to work hard, cover all the bases the best they can.

Is this "practice" just individual/squad drills that the Broncos allowed the media to attend during the week in the season? That practice tells you nothing.

So, Seattle is playing indoors, without pads, against the Russell Wilson Offense to prepare for Peyton Manning's no huddle.

Good flipping luck.
