Basically said that he was misunderstood and that because he's on a 1 year deal he's seen many people not come back from that. So because of that he was talking about life after football (guidance councilor).

We all know he was saying "I want to get paid Denver!"

Pretty much. I have no ****ing clue how we can afford everyone. Seattle is going to get ****ed too once Russell Wilson finishes his cheap ass rookie contract.

Based on his reasoning, I wouldn't blame the guy if he did.

A team is going to pay him a lot of money this year so I doubt that happens, lol. He was the #6 rated corner in the entire NFL.

Did I say it was or that he should? I said, if he did...I wouldn't blame him.

just keep signing him to one year contracts. never ever ever give that guy anything more than a one year contract.

Champ retiring after we win will let us re-sign DRC and Decker. BOOM.

We aren't going to. Sign the irreplaceable guys and replace the replaceable guys.

We'll be pretty ****ed to resign if him and Champ play lights out.

We'd have to let Champ go in that case...or he'd have to agree to redo his contract for cheap. DRC is 28 next season. Champ will be 36.

No matter what happens Sunday, Champ is not going to be making anything close to 10M next year. Not with us, not with any team. So no fears about that. To DRC, go get a ring and you'll get paid my friend.

He's hooked with a great team and just had a great season. He'd be NUTS to retire.

Per Lonestar (1st time I have thought of that douche since the season started) we would not be able to sign any FA's or give Clady a new deal. Some how John found a way to make that work.

I wonder how bitter Lonestar is now that the Broncos are in the SB?

I figure they rework Champs deal, then lock up DRC and see if they can't get some sort of hometown deal to keep Big Deck.

If Manning retires I am guessing the FO goes the way of the 1999 team letting the higher priced guys go but trying to keep a young core. After typing that I now wonder if Manning does retire if John doesn't look at how that 1999 team played out (with the ensuing 5 year reload period) and then try to do the opposite and pray that Oss is ready. Getting ahead of myself, kFc fans have been talking about 2014 season for some time already we still have one more game of the 2013 season to go before looking that far down the road!

Beadles and Philips, too.

I'd like to see Ayers back, but that's probably unreasonable... then Von and D.Thomas will be in contract years... possible that DT holds out.

Manning has already said he'll be back in 2014. I wonder if we win whether he'll take a dramatic pay cut a la Elway to keep the team together and go for a repeat.

broncosteven's hate fore lonestar is hilarious here but then he wonders/shows concern about his bitterness in the next sentence...that is pretty funny steven.
