View Full Version : I think the seahawks win this one

the12thman

here's 5 reasons why
1. Russell Wilson, he is the best player on the field, enough said on that he has
2 years under his belt and will do whatever we need him to do to win the game

2. Offensive line, we average a weight of 332 across the line. Christe, Jones, Unger, Okung, Ossai, these boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble

3. Dan Quinn, a new defensive and a new attitude, many players and other coaches have spoken about the difference between bradley and quinn.

4. Speed, speed, speed. This is the fastest team the seahawks have every had. Lynch, Miller, Mebane, Baldwin, Tate, Harvin, the newbies will be inexperienced but will provide a new dimension of speed we have never had before.

5. Time of possession. I think we can dominate the time of possession battle. The more we can shorten the game and keep payton of the field the better chance we have at winning the game.

I think the seahawks win this one rather easily, say...34-17?

Denver's never seen a defense like the hawks. And they didn't play a mobile qb ask year. I see the hawks dropping a 40 burger easy. Manning won't have time to throw.

Oh yeah, 12th man beasrmode. Your arguments are invalid.

I think Denver wins and here's 5 reasons why

1. Matt Prater , he is the best player on the field, enough said on that he has
4 years under his belt and will do whatever we need him to do to win the game and get the strippers needed for the after game

2. Offensive line, we average a weight of 333 across the line. these boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble

3. Dan Quinn, old hockey player played with Elway on the Celebrity golf tour

4. Speed, speed, speed. Denver will take this before the game to get amped up

5. Time in a bottle and Bad Bad Leroy Brown. Couple classics not to mention Tag Teams' "Whoop there it is " one hit wonder is better than Sir Mixalot one hit wonder of Baby got back

I think the Broncos win this one rather easily, say...35-16?

I'm an advocate of fans from other teams posting on our boards, I don't mind that they have a point of view different to the majority. I don't mind when broncos fans have a point of view different from the majority. Don't like John fox? You're entitled to that opinion. Think the chiefs are going to win the AFC west next year and have a reasonable argument supporting your point of view? Thanks for contributing!

But obvious trolls (ref: point 1) Wilson being the best player) coming trolling on the week of the Super Bowl, should be an instant ban. This is the one week for zero tolerance... And next week depending on the outcome

I think the Seahawk trolls win this one

Here's 5 reasons why:

1) No one takes them seriously. Seriously.

2) Their lack of general football knowledge is only exceeded by their inability to compose a rational thought.

3) There are more Women's Curling fans in the US than Seahawk fans.

4) When futilely attempting to make a point, they throw in a few "Brah's" for extra validity.

5) They've created a new religion centered on the words of Heath Evans, Deion Sanders, and Jason Whitlock.

He's not even the best player on his team...let alone on the field. That distinction belongs to Peyton Manning

2. Offensive line, we average a weight of 332 across the line. Christe, Jones, Unger, Okung, Ossai, these boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble

We've faced bigger and better......yawn!

3. Dan Quinn, a new defensive and a new attitude, many players and other coaches have spoken about the difference between bradley and quinn.

A defense that doesn't try to hide what they do and dares Manning to beat them usually gets beat by him.

4. Speed, speed, speed. This is the fastest team the seahawks have every had. Lynch, Miller, Mebane, Baldwin, Tate, Harvin, the newbies will be inexperienced but will provide a new dimension of speed we have never had before.

Let's see...we have the fastest man in the NFL returning our KO's in Trindon Holliday...we have a Calvin Johnson clone named Demaryius Thomas who runs a 4.4 forty....Decker isn't a slouch, and Welker is more quick than fast, but they run much better routes than your clown car of WR's do...and Knowshon is as fast if not faster than the aged Lynch....

5. Time of possession. I think we can dominate the time of possession battle. The more we can shorten the game and keep payton of the field the better chance we have at winning the game.

Ummm, the Denver Broncos have won 7 games this season where they lost the TOP battle..

You guys might not even get 34 plays ran off....let alone score 34 points.

the 49ers scored 17 points on Seattle. Denver is significantly better offensively and there are likely to be more people cheering for Denver at the SB then "12th man" fans. Seattle might win the game, but they are giving up high 20's in points.

If they win, Wilson is going to have to play the game of his life. I'll take the 5 time MVP over the game manager.

I think the seahawks win this one rather easily, say...34-17?

One post, and you've pretty much captured the metaphor that is the Seahawks fan!

Some sadly-telling signs:

1) Uses limited amount of knowledge picked up in the 2-3 years of watching football to string together sentences that kind of sound like they mean something - until they are read by someone with more than 2-3 years of experience watching football. To the more experienced person, the poster sounds like he went to a "football terminology" website, started writing down terms, and combined several mostly-unrelated terms into a sentence or two. (e.g. "Offensive line, we average a weight of 332 across the line. Christe, Jones, Unger, Okung, Ossai, these boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble." or, my personal fave, "Speed, speed, speed. This is the fastest team the seahawks have every had. Lynch, Miller, Mebane, Baldwin, Tate, Harvin, the newbies will be inexperienced but will provide a new dimension of speed we have never had before."

2) Pretentious, hyperbole-littered, bombastic writing style. "Russell Wilson, he is the best player on the field" who, with his "2 years under his belt" will "do whatever we need him to do to win the game." (Editor's note: NOT TWO YEARS! OH, THE HUMANITY! The experience he'll have FROM HIS TWO YEARS will be enough TO BREAK OUR BACKS, and OUR SPIRIT!") Another one: Their offensive line - "these boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble." (Editor's note: I would have felt good about this, since they gave up a rather ridiculous 44 sacks for the year, plus another 7 for the playoffs, which led both conferences! But that was before we were informed that the Seahawks line HAD AN ATTITUDE and was READY TO RUMBLE! Crap, a ready-to-rumble attitude might just be impossible to beat!

3) Hear a talking point so much, it's just too easy to repeat it, as if it's your very own, new idea. "I think we can dominate the time of possession battle. The more we can shorten the game and keep payton (SIC) of (SIC, too) the field the better chance we have at winning the game." He starts by saying "HE THINKS!" In other words, he is the author of this thought that keeping "payton" (I can only assume he means Walter Payton) off the field will be a good thing for the Seahawks. He doesn't give any justification regarding why he thinks they can "dominate" the time of possession. Clearly, he heard a guy from the "Legion of Boom" talking on the radio about this concept; so he quickly made notes of the terminology being used, so he could dig it up on an opposing message board.

4) Finally, he throws out a score - one in which they double our score. (Clearly, if this happens, you must have done a great job at keeping "payton" off the field.)

Ladies and gentlemen, your Seattle Seahawks fans - striking fear into the hearts of other teams' fan bases, since 2008!

If you're drunk, an AFC West team's fan, an NFC West team's fan or a child then please forgive me.

In regards to 2: Christe, Jones, Ossai? Who? Seriously?

In regards to 4: Miller, Mebane and speed. Seriously?

Can't multi-quote so in regards to Heath Evans: Our old FB that Holmy cut? You don't know who he is? Nope, you're not a fan.

Not here to talk smack. The threads I'm finding on Broncos' boards don't represent the thousands of Seahawks' fans I've met over the years.

Request your take on his "Reason #1". :P

I live in Seahawk territory -- and Manning's 55 tds/5500 yards are pretty much universally respected; I've never before heard anyone make the asinine and ludicrous claim that Wilson is better than Manning.

Yeah, he's no Manning. Does he have a similar mind? Yes. Is he a great leader and person? No doubt about it, yes. Could he be at Manning's level someday? I hope so.

Manning has had a great season, a historic season. You have to be blind or new to football to not know this.

Wilson IS dynamic. He, or Bevell, haven't really shown what he could do as he did last season. I was one of the fans who wanted Flynn to start over him for the simple fact that we spent all that money on him and if, in time, he lost his job to Wilson it would be proof enough for doing so. Glad Pete went with him, though. Flynn's elbow was bothering him that entire preseason and was used as an excuse to start Wilson, in my opinion.

I didn't want to sign up to more forums I'm going to ignore. I signed up here because I've had a few too many and might regret it later. I enjoyed some of the Broncos' forums and this place seems internet savvy. Is this the forum to be at? Not an insult. Like there are many Seahawks' forums - I just hang around one. I'm not going to go to the other forums and try to defend our fans or team but I want to be able to not hear, "Broncos 3,000 - Seahags -2" in every post.

Hey, the first time I saw Wilson play in a preseason game, I knew he had the talent to become one of the NFL's best. But to say he's the "best player on the field" next Sunday is something that would be posted by someone who just started watching football last weekend.

A football fan who really wants to find content -- and not just smack or trolling -- can fit in very well here. There's a lot of game analysis and x's and o's breakdowns if you can get past the trolling threads. :)

Russel Wilson is like Alex Smith, but Alex Smith can see over his offensive line.

Russell Wilson had 101 fewer pass attempts than Alex Smith this year yet threw for more more yards, more TD passes, had a much higher Y/A (8.2 to 6.5) and QB rating (101.2 vs 89.1). He also has more than 100 more rushing yards than Smith. When comparing career stats of the two your claim looks even worse.

Try again.

Objectively speaking, the OP is a rahTard.

here's his 5 reasons restated.
1. Russell Wilson is the best player on both teams. Wilson isn't even the best player on his own team. Heck, he's not even the best player on offense.

2. Their offensive line is fatter and somehow better, even though they've allowed more sacks - at home.

3. Dan Quinn. My response: Adam Gase.

4. Speed, speed, speed. Denver's linebackers are faster than Seattle's. And Denver's receiving corps is fast and quick. More than up to the task.

5. Time of possession. Of the two teams in the Super Bowl, one of them has dominated the TOP in the playoffs against better offenses, and it wasn't Seattle.

Epic fail.

He is going to be good, IMO. But we can all agree he isn't the backbone of that offense. Again not a slight against him. But when you read a thread that starts off by saying he is the best player on the field you just have to know the guy is an idiot.

Hell, I hate Richard Sherman's style, but lets be honest he is a great player. It is an insult to him to say RW is better.

But I usually don't go to troll and tell everyone how much better my team is.....except on Chiefs Planet - but they're brain damaged over there anyway.

To the more experienced person, the poster sound like he went to a "football terminology" website, started writing down terms, and combined several mostly-unrelated terms into a sentence, or two.

The experience he'll have FROM HIS TWO YEARS will be enough TO BREAK OUR BACKS, and OUR SPIRIT!") Another one: Their offensive line "these boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble." (Editor's note: I would have felt good about this, since they gave up a rather ridiculous 44 sacks for the year, plus another 7 for the playoffs, which led both conferences! But that was before we were informed that the Seahawks line HAD AN ATTITUDE and was READY TO RUMBLE! Crap, a ready to rumble attitude might just be impossible to beat!

3) Hear a talking point so much, it's just too easy to repeat it as if it's your very own, new idea. "I think we can dominate the time of possession battle. The more we can shorten the game and keep payton (SIC) of (SIC, too) the field the better chance we have at winning the game." He starts by saying "HE THINKS!" He is the author of this thought that keeping "payton" (I can only assume he means Walter Payton) off the field will be a good thing for the Seahawks. He doesn't give any justification regarding why he thinks they can "dominate" the time of possession. Clearly, he heard a guy from the Legion of Boom talking on the radio about this concept, so he quickly made notes of the terminology being used, so he could dig it up on an opposing message board.

4) Finally, you throw out a score - one in which you double our score. (Clearly, if this happens, you must have done a great job at keeping "payton" off the field.

Meanwhile this joker is over at that hawk.net claiming victory high fiving with the other two seachicken tards that have trolled here. Apparently we've all been schooled in this thread. :spit:

I'm looking around and all i'm seeing is join dates in th last year or two at the most. Is that a new site?

Right, you totally posted these two specific statues because they are also reflective of the height differences btw Manning and Wilson. ::)

I guess you missed that I posted this where I clearly stated -

I knew someone would think racism....but to be honest it's a height joke.....two statues...one's tall and iconic, like Peyton and the other is short and black like Russell.

would you have felt better if I posted a picture of Gary Coleman or Webster? they're short and black too......or am I not allowed to post any pictures that refer to a short, black QB as being, you know...short and black?

Didn't miss it, just don't think you considered their height difference at all.

so the reference to the "statue of liberty" play was what? Racism? Maybe you need to look at the pictures again.

No.. but the "short and black like Russell." was. And he is 5'11", hardly "short."

One must be careful lest the bishing about the trolls becomes more annoying the actual troll.

So true.

Coach Mooch was saying he was the exact same height having stood next to him recently and he's 5' 10".

Then consider the hawks have the TALLEST o-line in the NFL !

In the NFL 5'11" is short for a QB just as being 35 years old makes someone old. Neither is true in every day life. It's all about context.

here's 5 reasons why

I usually let the idiot troll posts from fans of other teams go, but that was too rich. Whenever Wilson is considered more than a game manager, takes his teams to multiple SB's, wins MVP at least once, and is allowed to change plays at the LOS whenever he wants for 15+ years, he isn't even the best QB going into most games, especially this one, much less the best player on the field.

Let me ask you something though, did you notice when you desribed them both? Peyton is tall and ICONIC. Russell is short and BLACK? You didn't pick lady liberty as being green like manning or pick a tall white thing like Washington Monument but for Wilson you noticed he was short and BLACK. You could've done any number of things. But you, ONLY YOU, decided to talk to color. Manning is iconic, Wilson is black. Do you really not get what you did? Wilson is a more mobile QB so why not do a Children's Mobile or hell a Seattle Themed Garden gnome which is short and would've kind of made whatever image disparity you were going for. Instead you chose a fairly historied item tied to a very racist history and then b****ed about people being too PC before anyone had actually said anything to you. I think you picked it on purpose to bait that response, either that or you just are an insenstive racist ass or both.

Oh and Errand you also did one other thing with the damned Lady Liberty analogy, you made Peyton, Green , old, rusty and a FRENCH woman. Not sure he'd like that likeness much either. Next time could you do something like make him the Rocky Mountains and Wilson some really tiny hill.

Again I refer you to the mention of the "Statue of Liberty " play....which is why I used the Statue of Liberty.....but if they ever name a play after mountains I will keep your suggestion under advisement .....and I'll make sure I don't use a picture of any of the "Black Hills"

Sure looks like Russell Wilson outplayed Peyton to me. The OP didn't end up being too far off if you me.

What does Peyton's legacy look like? I mean he just got beat by a "midget game manager" and an "overrated defense".

I certainly understand being upset.

Lol that game just showed exactly what I thought. If you get to Peyton with a 4 man rush, he gets frustrated and can't get in a rhythm.

And Wilson is way better than all you bronco fans think. You guys never really watched him, so you don't know. He will never throw up stats like Peyton, but he has just as many rings. Lol

You guys need to build your offensive line and get some players on defense.
