I'm almost completely sold on a Subaru BRZ Limited Edition (2013 or 2014, depending on pricing and whether or not they drop when I want to buy).

I just turned 26, this is my first major purchase other than college. I want something fun, sporty, and I've always loved my Subarus, so I'm not really thinking of switching makers. BRZ is turning my head much more than the STI used to, as well. Plus, you gotta love the pricepoint.

What you guys think of my offseason distraction? Lol

This topic is like throwing a filet mignon into a tank full of piranhas.

Holden makes a fantastic vehicle, they continue to receive accolades but most over here have never heard of them. They are bringing their newest award winning vehicle here soon, and it has just been rebadged as a Chevy SS. It's a badass V8 machine that's well built. I own the previous version of this car, Pontiac G8 (aka Holden Commodore) and it's a solid, well built vehicle that's a lot of fun to drive. Just check it out as they are being made only after ordered by a dealer.

No matter your decision, best of luck! A car purchase isn't to be taken lightly.

You have to think of cost of ownership in adecision like this. Depending on your cash flow filling a V8 is damn expensive. Get a Tesla.

Of course, and to me it's worth it because cutting off prius drivers (among other things) is a helluva drug.

Well I'm looking to stay around the $30,000 mark. The 30mpg isn't too bad either. Another reason the BRZ is coming in on top.

So of course I went World Rally Blue. What you guys think? Should I dip the wheels in orange?

Yeah I know it's not the best shot. Haven't had time for a photo shoot yet ;)

Congrats! and yes, get the wheels powdercoated orange... and while you're at it throw in the grille, the plastic around the fogs and your engine cover. Post results.

I was considering getting orange wheels for football season ;)

That is a sharp car. I never knew Subaru made something like that. Very nice. Orange wheels would be nasty. Woo. Good work.

They didn't until this year. It has a brother car, the Scion FRS. It was jointly developed by Subaru and Toyota.

You'll probably start seeing a bunch more of them too. For the price tag, you won't get more performance. It looks sexy as hell too. Love my World Rally Blue :)

FRS is going to be the more performance oriented car, because it weighs less. Subaru has more "perks" like Keyless Entry etc ;)

Would highly recommend not ENSLAVING yourself to that type of payment.

A car is a car. You could position yourself to start investing instead of huge interest payments to a bank.

Im 26, I have little to no credit. This is an investment as much as an expense. The money I pay in interest will pay for itself easily when I'm looking to buy a house.

Plus I've been wasting easily that much each month on women anyway. This is a much better use of my money. ;)
