VP Joe Biden has spent most of his life working in government jobs that are exempt from paying into Social Security. Yet he is now collecting more than twice the amount of the average retiree at $29k a year in SS benefits. hmmm...

Well I guess he is at least giving some back to charity. He and Jill have donated 1.8% of their income to charity.

It is available on whitehouse.gov.... It come directly from whitehouse press tool Jay Carney. I have little faith in that one though...

Here is why theblaze & other conservative sites can not be trusted. 29,000 is the amt every married couple gets a yr in SSI. Biden & his wife filed jointly so that 29,000 is both him & his wife. It works out to about 1,200 a month which is the avg amt for a SSI check for the avg retiree.

Landlord Joe Biden pocketed $26,400 in 2012 renting cottage to the Secret Service

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, took in $26,400 in 2012 by renting a cottage on the property of their Delaware home to the Secret Service, tax records released by the White House revealed.

They netted $17,944 of that rental money.

Secret service is not doing the vp a favor by protecting him,its their job.

The cottage is on his property, so it makes sense for the SS to stay there.

Unless there was a more convenient and cheaper alternative, what's the issue?

Biden needs to donate more to charity.

Now if you see anyone getting close to the old Hacienda, I want you step out on the porch of the cottage and fire a couple of 12 gauge blasts into the air............ that should do it and oh by the way, you got this months rent handy?

Government jobs have not been exempt from paying into Social Security Trust since the early 1990, when the government transitioned into the Thrift Saving Plan (a 401K) system. Under CRP (old pension) plan, government workers didn't pay into SS, but also could not receive any pay out by law.

A White House source was already posted on this thread. Are you actually reading the thread or just crying bias while you openly admit to liking biased sites as long as their bias fits your bias?

The LA Times also covered this story (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/08/joe-biden-update-hes-charging-secret-service-rent-for-cottage-to-protect-him.html). They're the same paper who is still sitting on the Khalidi tapes.

You're either going to slam wealth or not, for the sake of being an "out of touch silver spooner" and not on whether someone has a D or an R behind their name, giving one the slide based on which one you like.

Take your pick and be consistent.

Lol . Let's get back to the actual thread topic & the bogus sites like TheBlaze & their BS story on bidens tax returns/SS.

You guys are morons, all it took was reading that biden & his wife filed jointly to know that TheBlaze story was a lie. It took 5 seconds of research.
You guys are so biased that you'll get suckered into any story about Obama. TheBlaze could come out with a story claiming Obama was the love child of Charles Manson & you morons would buy it without question.

How many real jobs has Paul Ryan had?

I wish he was consistent in his denunciations. He's the epitome of a moocher.

Odd.

So much for silver spoon moral outrage.

I "worked" my whole life for DoD. Uniformed and civilian. 39 yrs and I have "earned" just about $20k per year SS. Did I work? Sure as hell seemed like it to me. Did I earn it?
