This means absolutely nothing, last year we had the 2nd hardest schedule going into the season and still wound up 13-3 playing only a handful of games against teams who went .500 or better.

Exactly what I was going to bring up. /thread

Yeah this means nothing. In fact almost all the bad teams get at least few games better, and many of the good teams will get worse at least a few games and some will suck (not ruling us out.) So this means nothing. These arguments about schedule difficulty don't mean anything.

Exactly it is such a broken record repeating the above I am blown away people still talk about SOS in the preseason.

They are the best team in the worst division. That alone will make their schedule look pretty easy.

I wouldn't say it means nothing. I'd say it doesn't mean very much.

We played cupcakes, during the last half of the season. One COULD make an argument that made us ill-prepared for the postseason...

12 wins against cupcakes
1 win against a team switching OC's banged up players that missed the game.
0-4 against playoff teams

We aren't ready for primetime yet. It made our stars think they could go MIA and still win.

Or...we lost on a fluke play in 5 degree weather and everyone is over reacting because **** just happens sometime in a singular football game

And we didn't just beat twelve "cupcakes," we annihilated them. And yes, the difference is important

And we were a diff team than we were in week 5

What about the 1-4 aganst playoff teams that difference is important too. I don't buy we would have beaten HOU or NE either.

We had a great season props but, our stars took a dump in moneytime no other excuse needed. My only hope they learn from it and come firing next year.

We lost on a fluke play to the Super Bowl champs. They then destroyed the Patriots. Not sure why anyone would think we couldn't have beat them at home, but that's your business. And Houston? Hilarious!

We were a much diff team by week 16 than we were in week 5. As far as you "not buying" that we could beat hou or NE, who gives a ****? You're just being pessimistic and your thoughts are based on nothing.

If Baltimore had blown us out, you might have a point. But it was a fluke win during a game we did a lot wrong. (And the refs didn't help.). **** happens! And it happened to us. We were just as good as any of those teams and if we replayed that Balt game, id still bet Denver to win

I think you are leaving off Cincy. 2-3 against playoff teams in the regular season. And, yes, we would have beaten Houston. They peaked about week ten and were a pretty mediocre team come playoff time. New England would have been a coin flip. And I'm getting sick of folks glossing over the fact the the refs jobbed us against Baltimore. Don't give me any "we should have overcome that" cliched crap. Baltimore's players get paid, too, and they were bound to make plays with the refs handing crap to them the whole game.

If you haven't figured it out yet someday you will. There is a lot of luck that goes into Superbowl winning teams. Ravens were 2 plays away from missing playoffs. Denver brought C- game and still should of won.

There's some good reading in there. Some had it about right. Others were way off (Cutthemdown said we'd be lucky to get nine wins).

You know what is funny the two hardest preseason schedules I thought Denver had was 05 and this year and they won 13.

6-2 at home and 6-2 on the road would be phenomial.

We have Houston, Indy, Dallas, Giants, & NE on the road....

Add the 2 Chargers games along with Washington and Baltimore...and that's 9 really tough games. Let's say we win 5 of those....the best we finish is 12-4.

Easiest schedule in the league?

The 3 afc west teams brings that win percentage down drastically. Without the chiefs stink involved it wouldn't be hovering at .430 or so

It's not just you. NE, Baltimore, Houston, and Washington should be good. I fully expect my Giants to get their ish together so they should be good. Dallas in theory is much more talented than the results they usually produce so that won't be an easy game. While I think Indianapolis was over-hyped this season and benefited from mostly playing other teams on or below their level, Luck is legit. So right there are 6-7 games that will not be sure things. And the division could become a lot more competitive, very quickly. If the Chiefs can somehow get a decent QB in the draft or through FA, and Whisenhunt can help Rivers get it together, that will change the whole landscape.

Hardly any cupcakes in there except maybe JaX and they have a new regime. Depending on when we get them they may be a lot better than these ere this year.
The AFCW will likely be much better also.

How they get .430 out of that other than two poor teams with lousy seasons. Factor out KC and JAX I suspect it is a lot higher SOS.

Just having real coaches in SAN and KC will up their wins by a half a dozen in total. Or more.

Now last year based on SOS and how young this team was I did not see many wins.

So who the hell knows.
