Yep.

Here in America, the right-wing propaganda machine has done a masterful job of hoodwinking red state goobers into protecting the banksters while throwing the people under the bus....all in accordance with the premise that this bass-ackwards policy is somehow good for the economy.

"Why do we consider banks to be like holy churches?"

LMAO, this is from the guy who was FOR the US bailout. In fact, the hypocrisy in the replys, is priceless. Hilarious!

Three liberals who all SUPPORTED bailing out the banks in the US, now applaud the model of austerity and telling the banks to go **** themselves.

....Clasic

I have always said that Obama's biggest blunder was his failure to indict and prosecute the banksters. From day one. I also supported an external bank bailout where the officers of the banks were indicted and/or fired and interim officers appointed to manage the banks, a form of nationalization that was used in Ireland, Iceland and Sweden, to different degrees. To just let the banks collapse would have been a disaster. To simply leave their debts unpaid would have been a disaster. The taxpayer bailout and the coverage of their liabilities was the right course to follow, but the failure to take control of the banks, and indict the bankers, was a gross mistake.

I know the extemist Austrians you support wanted to just allow everything to collapse, but then you are punishing those who have committed no crime along with the criminals. Iceland covered the banks' liabilities, but also nationalized them to protect the taxpayers first, and indicted the banksters. This is what Obama should have done. The Austrian scorched earth dogma was extremist and idiotic.

So during a Democratic presidency that the "banksters" run about free are the fault of the "right wingers."

You guys belong in MENSA. Clearly.

Oh boy! More drivel from the bubble. Reading comprehension: With practice, it can be achieved.

Foreign taxpayers got the shaft.

UK taxpayers have been left more than £100m out of pocket after a European court ruled that the Icelandic government had no obligation to repay Britain and the Netherlands for rescuing depositors in failed bank Icesave.

The judgment obliterates any hopes the UK government had of pursuing Reykjavik for interest on the £2.35bn bail-out. It also raises grave questions about Europe’s cross-border banking arrangements, which allow overseas lenders to “passport” into a country without being subjected to local financial regulation.

In a key ruling that will set a precedent for future cross-border depositor guarantees, the EFTA court dismissed all three claims brought against Iceland and said the compensation rules did not mean the government had to fund the scheme.

Oops! Sounds like that scam didn't work out for them. That's a shame. Of course, the scammers who ripped us off got paid in full. With taxpayer cash. Our Congress made sure of it.
