Houston 3 and out... bengals D-line mauling Houston's O-line so far.

Cinci 3 and out.... Gresham with a dropped first down pass. Both teams looking amateur on offense.

Texans like the broncos of post elway with Shanny. If they are running the ball and doing PA pass they are tough to beat. Get them in the shotgun and the Chiefs could beat them.

Not near as bad as Tony Romo getting beat in a must-win AGAIN. Dallas should be psychologically destroyed... again.

With Cincys O-line he might break the single game record for sacks today.

Agreed, but Houston is getting there too.

They don't inspire much confidence. 2 FG just screams of a tentative, scared team.

If it was any other team at home in these playoffs other than Atlanta, I see 14-0 deficit for the bengals already

Houston may regret not knocking out cincy early.

They're looking better today.

I think Cincy has clearly got the deep ball advantage. If they're able to hold Houston to FGs, one or two good deep balls could win this game for them. Houston needs to do it now if they're gonna do it.

As I write this, pick six for Cincy.

First off, Manning would pick apart Cincy's D, particularly at home, in our second meeting of the year with them (... same can be said of both Ravens and Colts, even though we didnt play Colts this year as he knows their D intimately and YET many of their D starters have never even practiced against Manning and those that have it was over two years ago with a different offense.

Not really worried about any of the three possible divisional game opponents .. scratch that looking more like Cincy is gonna lose here.

Indy would likely be the more entertaining game with all the Manning/Luck story line and such, but Ravens playing at their house tomorrow 'might' be the more likely winner for us to face.

Ray Lewis can make his swan song here rather than at home tomorrow where his local fans could give him their sincere send off into the sunset.

And how the **** does "he's never won an MVP" come into play? This is professional sports. Funny thing is that AP has 10 less total TD's (9 rush, 1 rec) than Terrell Davis did when he won MVP. Everyone is obsessed with his yards and YPC, but totally forget about scoring.

Atwater His Ass

Certainly AP's year was fantastic, but it was painfully obvious (and not a surprise) that QB, even an average QB, is worth much much more than even the best RB in the league. Hell, one could even argue that the season Jamaal Charles just put up in KC was better than AP's, considering the train wreck of an offense he did it with.

It was said in another thread, but I think bears repeating here; if Manning and Peterson switched teams, which team is better off? Which team just got better and which team just got worse? It's just a fact that QB is the most valuable position in football. I put Manning, Rodgers, Ryan, Brees, and Brady all above AP for league MVP.

AP is a nice story, great season, and he should run away with the offensive player of the year award. But MVP and comeback player should go to Manning in a landslide.

I remember after '98 right after Elway retired people thought Bubby could pick up the pieces and it wouldn't be a big deal. He's got the keys to the Ferrari. Just don't crash it was a paraphrase of Shannon Sharpe at that time. We all thought that since we had the 2,000 yard rusher, Eddie, Rod, Sharpe, and that offensive line, the offense wouldn't miss a beat, and we'd at least compete for a 3-peat. My goodness how wrong we were. Those offenses put up good games, and Shanahan put up some amazing coaching jobs, but it nowhere near approached the dominance they showed from '96-'98. That's what a good-great quarterback means to a team.

I'm so grateful we have Manning right now.

Bingo! It begins and ends with the QB. The rest is just filler for the sports wrtters and casters.

Webb looks like a less talented Tebow without the "intangibles". This won't end pretty.

So in reality he sucks.

Well part of that though was that the opinion from the locker room was that Bubby should have been the guy after Elway, but Shanahan gave the keys to Griese instead. That created a lot of turmoil within the team. Then having TD go down with the first knee injury really sealed the deal into suckdom.

I love Shanahan and everything he did for this team. But I often wonder how things might have played out had he stuck with Brister instead of Griese.
