Peyton Manning, who has come back from multiple neck surgeries to lead the Denver Broncos to the AFC West title, received the most Pro Bowl votes from fans on NFL.com, the league announced Thursday.

Manning, who has 31 touchdown passes and has thrown for 4,016 yards this season, topped the fan balloting with 993,045 votes cast on NFL.com.

Fan balloting was closed Dec. 17.

The fan voting is one-third of the equation in determining the Pro Bowl teams and is combined with voting by the league's players and coaches, who will cast their votes Thursday and Friday.

The Pro Bowl teams will be announced Dec. 26.

Manning was followed in the fans' voting by Houston Texans running back Arian Foster (829,591); Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (828,225); and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (777,827).

Rounding out the top 10 were Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III (683,943); Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green (676,607); Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (646,273); New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (578,753); and Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice (564,751).

Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, who is tied with the San Francisco 49ers' Aldon Smith for the league lead in sacks with 19, received the most fan votes for a defensive player with 542,688.

The NFL is the only one of the four major American professional sports leagues to determine its All-Star teams by combining fans', players' and coaches' votes.

The Pro Bowl will be played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Jan. 27, 2013.

Manning, Von and Champ were leaders. I hope that Demaryius and Harris also got some hot love.

Manning will not be playing the Pro Bowl. He will be playing a MUCH bigger game, in New Orleans...

The Pro Bowl is a joke. They should get rid of the game and make it an award like the All Pro voting.

The Ravens have 6 players, it would have been 8 if Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs were healthy. Lame.

As I understand, fan votes aren't weighted as heavily as the coaches and player's votes. I remember one year the Redskins tried really hard to get their fans to "Vote Burgundy" and were leading in fan votes at almost every position. After the rest of the votes came in they had two pro-bowlers and no alternates.

No. The All Pro team is decided by the AP.

It should be a party in Hawaii followed by a two day golf tournament starring the players who would be allowed to fill their carts with beer, cigars and beautiful women in bikinis. Now that, I would watch. ;D

Oher, Kalil, Mankins, Iupati and Pouncey would be a pretty good Oline.

I don't know how the season's gone as a whole, but most of the Ravens boards I read last week were really down on Oher.

Michael Oher? The fans here in baltimore call him ezpass (those toll cards that let you pass on without stopping). They think he sucks. So probowl makes no sense for him, must be fans of the movie

Right. Fans, players, and coaches all have 1/3 voting weight each.

I've argued for several years now that they'd be far better served if they replaced the current pro-bowl format with a big blow out in place of the Hall of Fame game.

Let current pro-bowlers go schmooze with the HoFers in Canton, play a game, have a bunch of skills competitions, all that junk. I think you'll see far better player participation in that format and the fan base will have been football starved since the draft, so far more willing to watch the sloppy pass heavy game that is a pro bowl match up.

Just vote them in and don't play a game. I agree except I think they should do Vegas so these guys could drink, do blow and hookers and entertain through social media. That would be more entertaining than the game.

They should eliminate the game and just have like skills competitions or something

The probowl game is garbage and last year's was just stupid

and LOL at Oher being a probowler

Hard to decide which Baltimore Raven deserves to make the pro bowl least....

FB Vonta Leach
OT Michael Oher
KR Jacoby Jones
DT Haloti Ngata
SS Bernard Pollard
FS Ed Reed

I think I'll go with Ed Reed... a hall-of-famer who kinda sucks in the twilight of his career. (at least in the games I watched).

That was top at each position on that list. Guys like DT, Clady, Franklin, Doom, Woodyard Colquitt and possibly Harris could be voted alternates

Really good. The Coaches/Players count for 2/3 of the vote. I think there is a really good chance Clady, Woodyard, and Thomas will all make it. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Harris, Franklin, Beadles and even Rahim Moore do as well.

yes but unlikely IMO.

players vote for their teammates, coaches likewise espscially if everything is remotely equal..

in fans voting it is much the same BUT after they vote for their guy they pick a name they know and our guys were the ones they knew.. from all the prime time and exposure nationwide for Manning this year on CBS witht eh exception of last week IIRC we have had their #1 announcers most of the year....

Champ does not deserve a pro-bowl nod this year any more than anyone on the Ravens does.

Clady absolutely does, and Id argue Wesley Woodyard does as well. I really dont think the team is loaded with pro bowl type players but the team is stacked with very solid players at every single position on the field.

Oher..pfff, he's a turnstile. I've seen a lot of Ravens games this year, theyre often televised by sky so i'd watch if we didnt clash and he sucks as a LT. Good standard RT though but nowhere near good enough to protect the blind side, somewhat ironically.

Why is Cribbs returner? I'm pretty sure Travis Benjamin has more return TDs than him this year so he's not even the best returner on his team now!

Fan voting is a joke, as usual. This highlights why those people are coaching and playing (no, im not counting you; Romeo and the Chiefs roster) and the vast majority of us fans league wide are here on our laptops talking ****e.

I'd say fan voting results were pretty stellar this year.

Sure Oher is silly and Champ shouldn't be beating Cromartie this season and Clay over a guy who might break the sack record is off, but all in all, out of that entire list the vast majority are playing like the best at their position.

Story of Belicheck promoting some ST player from the Browns to the Pro Bowl just so the kid's $1MM bonus would kick in and screw the Browns

Be a way for Shanny to get back at Oakland

I have to agree. You could make a case for some of the head scratchers too. Like that the safety play has been kind of weak sauce in the NFC this year so Ronde Barber winning isn't that big of a deal. The linemen are based on name recognition. Does Saturday or Oher, both on teams that have allowed a lot of sacks, deserve to be on there? No, but everyone knows Saturday, and Oher was raised by Sandra Bullock, so there you go.

I don't agree with the corners, kickers or linemen.

I think the CB votes are pretty reflective of the NFC/AFC situation.

The NFC has been so loaded with cover guys this year that it's ridiculous, and I don't mind the nod going to the league leader in TOs even if its in a cover 2. The AFC CBs are SOOOOOOOOO much worse this year.

Peterson, Tillman, Jennings, Sherman... even Deangelo Hall has been playing at top tier level

vs

Cromartie, Champ and... Joseph (missed time, dinged up)? Aqib Talib?

Lopsided as ****, haha.
