View Full Version : Is Hillman part of our future?

fwf

Know and Hillman in 2013? Is that our 1-2 punch?

CAn we count on this guy as our 3rd down, change of pace guy next season?

I vote we still need to bring in a veteran ala DeAngelo, Turner or Steven Jackson, but people might feel different.

I say if Hillman doesnt improve drastically by camp then it might be time to cut our loses.

If Moreno wasn't cut after these years, no way this team is going to give up on Hillman. He'll be around for a while.

Hillman looked as good as he's looked all season today. This thread is idiotic.

Hillman was effective when the game.hadnt.already been decided and there werent 11 in the box. He looked very solid while the game was in what i would call a regular stage.

Dude is the youngest player in the league. He's only 21. Give him a full offseason of NFL conditioning before judging him as a player.

He's quick, elusive, and not afraid to run between the tackles. I like his potential.

Hillman looks the part of change of pace back, he's young and needs to grow and learn (especially pass-pro), but he has shown a lot this year.

Knowshon looks like he can carry the load, as long as he can sty healthy.

Exactly. I could see him as a spell back, but certainly not a consistant 3rd down back.

Well, he'll be a part of next years team after that too far to tell.

and a HELL no to bringing in an old RB. Lets just Draft another one and let them compete!

Dumb thread is dumb. This is the first time it looked like the game slowed down for him. He had a beautiful jump cut.

But the real story is Knowshon going ape **** and looking like a top 15 pick.

why would they cut a pick drafted this high after 1 season and a training camp? he's the youngest player in the league.

In time he could develop and be good, but I wasn't the only one who laughed when we traded up to get him. That move, Osweiler and Bolden were pretty big turds to lay in the draft.

I prefer to use a second round pick on someone who will contribute right away, not sit on the shelf for three or four years behind Manning. But hey, maybe we will have an Aaron Rodgers scenario on our hands.

No, you are thinking of that classic "11 inches in the box and 6 to go"

Drek

Hillman has potential, he just needs some time to mature and unlike most pro athletes that actually means physically. If he can add about 10 pounds of good muscle he'll be a totally different player and as it is he's a quality chance of pace back.

Moreno is doing good work and we all should be appreciating that right now, but Hillmans' ceiling is crazy high given a few more years to grow and learn.

Bacchus
12-16-2012, 03:34 PM
Stupid thread but I do think Hillman needs less playing time. 14 carries 29 yards does not cut it. If Hester cannot do it than bring up. J. Johnson.

So aside from getting blown up in pass-protection against a 240 blitzing backer, some people weren't impressed with Hillman today? I thought this was his best game as a pro. He was directly responsible for two first downs on a drive where everybody in the house knew he was getting the ball. Pretty confident that Fox and Co. were pretty pleased with what they saw as well. I'd be willing to be he gets 8-10 carries next week too.

In time he could develop and be good, but I wasn't the only one who laughed when we traded up to get him. That move, Osweiler and Bolden were pretty big turds to lay in the draft.

how were they turds? Hillman was drafted as a change of pace back and that's what he's been not to mention he's insanely young. he's developing fine, rookie RB's almost always have either blocking or fumbling issues they have to correct.

Osweiler was known to be a developmental pick with the potential to be a franchise QB. he's got the perfect mentor(and don't start on the Indy stuff, the highest QB draftee after Manning was in the 6th round)

Bolden is coming off a ACL injury and CB's are notorious for needing multiple years and reps to develop. outside of Revis almost every rookie CB has gotten lit up in their 1st and sometimes early into their 2nd seasons before it clicks for them.
