That's not good news. He is one hella of a coach and I don't want to go up against him twice a year. That would just suck.

Besides I kinda like Chucky, there are getting to be less and less good commentators out there.

Makes sense a random writer would say this to a station in Chicago.

I agree. But what's the motivation for him to go to the Raiders? I could see him coaching, but maybe somewhere else like San Diego or somewhere with better potential than Oakland. I imagine though if he wants a gig, all this chatter might help increase his asking price.

i guess Al is gone, and that is the reason he left right?

His credibility as an announcer went out the window when he stated that RGIII fumbled on purpose (on MNF) to get the TD.

If Gruden comes back, which he should, I'm sure he will want full power.

He wouldn't be coming back to coach....Elway role.

He won't. His wife and kids won't accept the hours.

Really? I kinda though he was overrated and I think is career .540 winning percentage would agree with me. Wade Phillips has a higher winning percentage.

The Raiders were pretty good when he was there. I'd say he's a big reason they made it to the Super Bowl. Had he stayed in Oakland, maybe they win that SB... Who knows.

I think he's an instant gratification coach, he would get them turned around but over the long haul I'm not sure.

Perhaps he has finally perfected the recipe for Concrete Cyanide after years of tinkering.

These guys that are out of it for multiple years and then come back to great fanfare rarely work out, Vermeil was about the only one that did.

Not a great coach. He won a SB with a team Dungy built for him.

He is overrated just like Billick and Dungy.

Gruden will never leave the booth. Can't say it enough.

Chucky is MNF. Probably the best color analyst ever.

No one I'd rather hear say the name Pierre Garcon.

Bad news. He's a good coach, and I like him... I really don't want to go back to hating him again.

If not him then it will probably be Shanahan. I have it on good authority that he is going to get canned. I learned this from the mane.

I think I read somewhere recently that he'd only leave the booth for a situation where he had a QB already in place. I can't see that being Oakland.

I know he wants to coach again, he said he misses it alot. But he's got a very nice gig right now. Not everybody gets to host MNF. No stress, he gets to have a ton of fun. Great hours. I think he stays with MNF to be honest.

Funny that no one comments on his winning percentage, just that he is a good coach because he won a Superbowl with per-assembled team.

I'm sure he likes the idea of coaching, but he's got a sweet gig right now and he knows it.

Don't forget the idiot he coached against (Callahan) didn't bother to change the plays, signals, and audibles of the offensive system Gruden left behind.

Callahan got to the super bowl with the team Gruden built, so he's got skills as a coach. Had he stayed in Oakland, maybe they win that superbowl since Tampa wouldn't know every Raider play call coming out of the huddle.
