the Broncos will win back-to-back AFC West titles for the first time since 1986 and 1987 (and only the second time ever).

During Elway's regime, 35 of the Broncos' 53 active players have been added, and 13 now are starters.

Sporting News announces the annual executive of the year award, given since 1955, after the Super Bowl. Elway would become the first man selected as the league's MVP and the NFL's top executive.

Well of course John Elway will be the Broncos executive of the year. Who else could it be? Joe Ellis? Elaine Woodworth? Rich Slivka? Kathy Hatch? Pat Bowlen? Or Pat's brother John?

The funny thing is these two AFC West Titles came immediately after the worst season in franchise history.

The Duke isn't getting enough credit for how gutsy some of those moves were.

He certainly deserves the award, but whether he gets it or not depends on the competition ... who's out there, the Colts GM, who else?

And BTW, I wrote a short version of that same article two weeks ago, right here on the Mane. How come nobody started a thread about my article? It had pictures and everything ... Click click, go go, read read! (http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?p=3728191#post3728191)

I think that's because his leadership style, the casual way he does things, he doesn't draw much attention.

And these two titles directly followed a franchise-record 12 losses in 2010.

Elway is trying to pull off a mini Larry Bird. only thing he would be missing is to coach and be named coach of the year.

The Colts executives are going to get a strong look I'd imagine. Maybe the same for the Texans.

Elway should win this going away tho.
