Rumor has it the Broncos will wear their alternate jersey this week - all blue (top and bottom).

The look is definitely not my favorite. I wish they would stick with the orange.

From what I remember, when Elway was playing he was against wearing the all blue - and never did wear it.

Not a rumor, confirmed by the Broncos official twitter account:

https://twitter.com/Denver_Broncos/status/269478103896711168

"Yes, the team will be in all blue on Sunday RT @BluenorangeFTW: Will they be wearing the blue pants too? "

Record in the all blues = 12 - 7

Prior to this year, when it became the primary, the record in the Orange alternates is 4 - 6 (2 Pre-Season losses as well).

I like our current helmets. Having the letter of your team/city in the logo feels very old fashioned to me. And that symbol isnt nearly as iconic as, say, the Yankees

I think record was awesome in them at one point but then it seemed to lose steam and we lost a lot. I remember we were horrible in our current orange jerseys and if it is snowing just might as well not play the game. I remember our first two times against Peyton and colts in the snow and Raiders when Bailey forgot how to cover Porter. Both on Sunday night too. I really don't care which ones we where and I probably prefer orange since it took so long to bring back I just can't wait for the game.

I don't like the all blues. We have momentum in the orange shirts now, why mess it up? We did bad in the orange tops the past 8 years or so, but PFM has helped us conquer that demon.

Why not the old old old school unis? The brown and yellow? Or the one after with the crazy horse on the helmet?

Sorry you feel that way..

I have always posted my mind.. as I see it..

Being a Bronco fan since their inception have lived through all the UPs and downs the franchise has had..

Most of the kiddies on this forum have been around since Elway or later and even more of the percentage from the super bowls..

Yet even more grew up playing madden or later FF and have little if any actual on the field experience..

I also had the opportunity to play under a former Bronco OT, so I'm a fan through and through..

Like I said I see things that some do not see and feel it is my duty to share..

Some folks like it, some do not because I hold not punches and go after their favorites If i think it is the right thing to do.. many get butt hurt when I do that..

it is not personal for me but it gets that way for them..

So "square peg in round hole".. Thanks for the compliment..

Interesting story where those original uni's started out from. Lonestar probably had jammies like them and all the other kids were jealous:

What a way to open your inaugural season, sorting through used away uni's from a bottom end college bowl game trying to find one that fit you. Came a long way since then. The LA Chargers soon to become the SD Chargers were one of the best back then with the coolest uni's, but still haven't got to the top.

We have 8 or 9 games to choose, all blue is with me fine for one.

But Lonestar is right. Why are we talking so much about fashion, we're not chicks, are we? Here's the first thread I started on the Mane:

Where did all the cool uniforms go?

For whatever boring, monochromatic (gotta be marketing related) reasons, the NFL has apparently decided every team must adopt navy/dark blue or black as a base color. In the last 10-15 years, literally half the league has done so:

Added Navy/Dark Blue, made it dominant:

1. Broncosdumped 2. Rams
3. Chargers
4. Seahawks
5. Patriots
6. Bills
7. Oilers/Titans
8. Cowboys (dumped medium blue jersey in 80s)
9. Texans (expansion w/ navy)

Added Black, at least as a base:
1. Eagles
2. Lions
3. Cardinals
4. Panthers (expansion)
5. Jaguars (expansion)
6. 49ers
7. Buccaneers

That's half the league. Plus several already had one of the colors. Holdouts are Giants, Packers, chefs, Dolphins, Jets.

Add moron kiddie fans to that list.

Why anyone gets excited about the numerous combinations of colors, how they look on male athletes leads me to believe they should man up.

Reach right down inside your jockey shorts, or boxers and check out if your testicles have shriveled up.

Uniforms are worn so the team knows whose players are on each side. So the QB does not throw to the wrong guy.

Beyond that what does it matter.

If that is what the players are worried about then the team has more problems than we know about.

Do they want to be in the old brown and mustard colors no. But overall if they are not complete morons they should not care.

I'm pretty sure they are no more motivated to play whether they have blue tops white bottoms. Vs there normal color of orange.

Even in '98/'99, there was discussion/voting on what to wear, specifically as it relates to the blue on blue. Elway and Co. voted on whether or not to wear the blue pants. And shockingly, they won a Superbowl or two. They must have had real problems.

I've never understood that whole thing for professionals even. For 9 year old kids? That's just bizarre. Unless you're attending private school, there's simply no need for that crap.

I've worked for two major Boston law firms and I haven't had to wear a suit more than once or twice in over 10 years.

I like that they have to wear a suit. It's professional and makes the organization seem classy. But I agree, I wouldn't mandate that stuff til college. I wouldn't mind if my kid had to dress up at nine, but I wouldn't be thrilled about it.

9-year-old kids in suits seems excessive. I understand varsity high school coaches requiring it for away games, or if you are representing a university.

Its Canada, and its hockey, and its not all that uncommon, most teams above house league mandate black shirt and pants at minimum. It does make it look like the organization is classy, and has been that way since I played rep 30 years ago.

I should clarify tho, its not full suit, its dressed shirt and tie with slacks, last year the coach even got the kids all matching ties to wear, so very nice of him to add 20 bucks in the budget to buy the kids each a 5 dollar tie.

So there are 4 kids on the team? 20/5=4

Canadian math perhaps.

Nope. Let me guess you are over 55.

You should have added 10 or 20 to that estimate.

It does not matter. As long as they wear them.

So you're against nudity on the football field?
