A spokesperson for General Motors told the Detroit Free Press that the ad was, more or less, crass and misleading.
“We've clearly entered some parallel universe during these last few days,” GM spokesman Greg Martin said. “No amount of campaign politics at its cynical worst will diminish our record of creating jobs in the U.S. and repatriating profits back to this country.”

Like they say about the WH, it brings out the character of the one who lives there. In other words, if Romney is willing to lie this much to get elected, what do you think he's going to do as president?

Wow..... GM comes out with a statement against Romney ..... color me surprised.
Maybe they should keep their hands on the wheel and worry about the 14.5% third quarter decline in earnings they just posted.

Nice deflection. However, that's not the point. The point is that Romney is a liar.

Even after their Jeep claim is exposed as BS, Romney's minions continue to repeat the lie - just like their candidate.
These people just get more dishonest, shameless, and despicable by the minute.

GM spokesperson did not say that Romney lied. They said the ad was misleading... weasel words for "it may be true, but we don't like it. GMs response is also misleading.
GM is not denying that they are planning on building cars in china. They are saying though that those are new jobs, not existing jobs... so they are not transferring US work overseas. Distinction with out of difference, US losses jobs China gains.
The Romney ad said
Under President Obama, GM cut 15,000 American jobs, but they are planning to double the number of cars built in China, which means 15,000 more jobs for China. And now comes word that Chrysler plans to start making Jeeps in, you guessed it, China
It is funny what big hypocrites ya'll are on this. You throw a hissy fit if a company owned by Bain, creates new jobs in China. When GM looks to create jobs overseas, you are all for free trade and US companies building factories in China.
For GM and Obama, Romney's ad is an inconvenient truth.

Ha! Exactly.
Every company of any size that does business on a global scale builds production facilities overseas. The days of building in America, loading it on ships and shipping overseas have been gone for years.
The fact is that jeep is adding 1100 jobs in Ohio. They are doing so well as a company that they need to add jobs overseas. Jobs that could not be done by Americans, not because of taxes or foreign workers who get paid cents on the dollar. IT'S BECAUSE IT'S TOO GODDAMN EXPENSIVE TO SHIP THIGS OVERSEAS.

so American companies with facilities overseas producing cars and shipping them to the US, is that your idea? Right, its not because taxes or foreign workers who get paid cents on the dollar, its because of shipping cost.

No, but you do need to learn how to read.
Jeep is adding jobs in the US to build cars for people in the US. They are also adding jobs in China to build cars for people in China. As Roh pointed out, Toyota does the same here. It's the way things work, and there's no way around it.

You can't be this f_cking stupid - you just can't!
For those who live in the real, English-speaking world, it's understood that "misleading" is just a euphemism for "lying."
