Denver Broncos (A)

Thatís quite the grade for a 4-3 team, we know, but the record is indicative of Peyton Manning needing a few weeks to get comfortable again. And heís most certainly there. Kudos to the Broncos for making the aggressive push to sign him and dump Tim Tebow and everything that comes with him on the New York Jets.

How they can get better: Pray Manningís neck keeps getting better. Because beyond that, we see no holes on their roster, particularly on that outstanding defense.

Prediction: This incredible comeback story ends with Manning lifting the Lombardi Trophy for the second time.

They also predict Manning to be MVP.

Peyton Manning is looking like an MVP again; who else?

10:47PM EDT October 16. 2012 - Peyton Manning's drive for five is alive and well — a fifth league MVP award, that is.
Manning's brilliant second-half performance, erasing a 24-point halftime deficit in the Denver Broncos' stunning 35-24 Monday night victory against the San Diego Chargers, proved the 36-year-old quarterback has returned to peak form. There isn't a quarterback playing better.

And Manning's second-half magic provided a fitting comeback within his own remarkable return from four surgical procedures on his neck.

"I felt like I was watching the Peyton from back in 2003 through 2009. His performance was spectacular," Manning's former offensive coordinator, Tom Moore, told USA TODAY Sports on Tuesday. "Don't ever count Peyton Manning out."

Manning hit 13 of 14 passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns during his second-half clinic. He has 14 touchdowns and four interceptions, with three of those picks coming in one quarter of a Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Manning's 21-yard TD strike Monday to Brandon Stokley's fingertips, a beat ahead of cornerback Marcus Gilchrist, underscored that Manning is not only comeback player of the year front-runner, but he is the lead MVP candidate six weeks into the season. And if the race is close at the end, he will be a heavy sentimental favorite.

A look at the early MVP contenders:

QB Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

He has 47 game-winning fourth-quarter drives, by the way.

Why he'll win: He is completing 67.8% of his passes and figures to get even better with his new cast.

Why he won't: He must cover for a defense that has issues against the run.

I expect a lot of this going forward, be ready for a ton of hype.

I would be worried about the players buying into it the hype more than they should but I am 100% confident that Peyton Manning won't allow these guys to do that he will keep them focused on the game that they have to prepare for.

Now you know why Fox said he doesn't care if people say we're good....we'll just stay the same. He was warning team to not buy into the hype that would begin after outscoring opponents in last 6 qtrs 69-14

They also say we will beat Chicago to do it.

oh that would be sweet, to see cutler and marshall mope about after a superbowl loss, not to mention, all of my friends in GB would be rooting for us as much as we are.

It will be interesting to see how these young players handle success. Do they drink the kool-aide and get punched in the face in Ohio? There are a lot of veterans on this team, but there is a lot of young guys doing stupid stuff sometimes too.

And their playoff odds have us as the second best chance to win it all behind only Houston

I hate this stuff. I hope the Broncos players stay away from this crap and just play the games.

Funny how the Broncos defense is good until it plays the Patriots, then it turns into swiss cheese and can't stop a nosebleed.

Broncos are frauds, you've lost to every decent team you've played.

ONE AND DONE, guaranteed.

I agree with the first part of that post. The Pats have carved us up with ease and we have yet to demonstrate we can stop them. Does not make us frauds--as that would mean the team was intentionally misrepresenting themselves as something they ain't--but even chowdah boy can't deny that the team is trending up on all sides of the ball right now.

Let the pats have the adulation. We just need to get better each week and if we see the Pats again, hope that our coaches plan to our strengths and think outside the box this time.
