Just got back from McD's for my free big mac for the Broncos win. I had forgotten how tasty those things were before I got my key chain in the mail earlier this year. Anyone else hooking one of these up today?

I always get a McRib when they come out, even though I know halfway through I'm going to regret it. Every time. I can't explain my actions, and I'm not proud. :pity:

There are so many great burgers out there, and of all things that get a thread - the big mac?

c'mon man, you really like that plastic tasting stuff more than a real hamburger, made the right way?

Why is the displayed (subject sample) food moved or readjusted in each picture? They should leave it completely untouched. Shenanigans!!!

Admittedly, I didn't see the links. I'm still on an iPhone 3G (not even 3GS) so it would take waaaaaaayyyyyyy too long to see, and likely crash.

http://aht.seriouseats.com/archives/2010/11/the-burger-lab-revisiting-the-myth-of-the-12-year-old-burger-testing-results.html

Pretty strong evidence in favor of Theory 3: the burger doesn't rot because it's small size and relatively large surface area help it to lose moisture very fast. Without moisture, there's no mold or bacterial growth. Of course, that the meat is pretty much sterile to begin with due to the high cooking temperature helps things along as well. It's not really surprising. Humans have known about this phenomenon for thousands of years. After all, how do you think beef jerky is made?

Now don't get me wrong—I don't have a dog in this fight either way. I really couldn't care less whether or not the McDonald's burger rotted or didn't. I don't often eat their burgers, and will continue to not often eat their burgers. My problem is not with McDonald's. My problem is with bad science.

For all of you McDonald's haters out there: Don't worry. There are still plenty of reasons to dislike the company! But for now, I hope you'll have it my way and put aside your beef with their beef.

That's just criminal. Poison kids for profit.

Let's lure them in with a colorful playground and toys then feed them empty calories that taste good and are addictive, make a ton of money and when they get obese and sick hand them over to our corporate brother big Pharma to sign them up for life long medication.

I remember seeing that pic some 10 years ago. That kid is probably in his mid 20's, with no self-esteem, likely working in fast food... or dead.

Listen America, fast food is a vice, it causes a hell of a lot more deaths than any drug in human history.

Two reasons why that Big Mac was good.

1. It was free.

2. It was free because the Broncos beat the crap out of their opponent.

There is no other reason to enjoy, or even order, a Big Mac. Probably one of the worst fast food burgers around.

My best friend has always been big, he is about 6'5 and has likely topped 400 or more in his life. He tried everything even the staples. He is down to the low 300's but he is still big.

When we were kids his arms weren't nearly as big as those kids in the pic though, he is not the type to consume his meal then eat off others plates. I am the opposite, I have to work to gain weight. My sister always told us if we stood next to each other we looked like the number 10, I was the 1 and he was 0. She also told me to get a job painting the insides of flag poles.

I forgot about the free Taco's I would eat Taco Bell's sawdust tacos before I would eat McD's.

Its not what goes in the fries....its what the fries go in.

Used to be beef tallow...mmmmmmm Nowadays its vegtable oil.

I would rather have the old fries and eat them rarely...then have the newer ones and eat them more often.
