The Vice President says a lot of stupid stuff that he seems to get a pass on it. Common response is "Ah, that's just Joe being Joe.

Telling Obama that Obamacare is a BFD on camera.
Asking Chuck Graham to stand up (out of his wheel chair) and let the crowd see ya.
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and nice looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."
"You cannot got to a 7-11 or Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking."
In his first run for president plagiarized British Labour Party leaders speech.
Laughing / grinning at inappropriate times during VP debate.
"When stock market crashed FDR got on TV..." In 1929, TV ? Said that in an Interview with Katie Couric, funny how that interview wasn't as devastating as Couric's interview with Palin.
"a three letter word: jobs, J-O-B-S, jobs "
"Folks, I can tell you I've known eight presidents, three of them intimately".
"They are going to put ya'll back in chains"
"The president has a big stick, I promise you"
Swine flu freak out. Scaring people off trains and planes.
You know, I'm embarrassed. Do you know the web site number?'

His latest though isn't just stupid, but incredibly insensitive.

Biden met the father of Tyrone Woods, one of the former Navy Seals killed in Libya. At the ceremony returning the remains, the Vice President approached his family and asked, 'Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?'

If you have a D behind your name, you can say stupid racist **** with impunity. Welcome to liberal morality.

Oh, you can also grope women and humiliate your wife in public.

You did read the part further down?

His recollection of the reception differs sharply from that of Tyrone's mother, who last month took to Facebook to praise the officials who organised the event.
Writing about the repatriation of her son's body, Cheryl Croft Bennett said: 'The entire afternoon was overpowering and unreal.
'Little did I know that I would find myself in a reception room being comforted, hugged, and, yes, even kissed by the President of the United States. Along with the President, there was Vice-President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, and General and Mrs Colin Powell.
'They were all wonderful. They held my hand, offered condolences, gave warm hugs, and were extremely compassionate and genuinely sad for my loss, as I fought back tears and tried to project an image of strength to honor my SEAL son.'

That isn't to say that the father didn't have a right to be offended. Biden may have made a crude remark at a very inappropriate time, and I can appreciate him being disconcerted by the reports surrounding the White House response to the attack. If he feels they failed/disrespected his son, he should be able to say so.

That said, this is hardly the first time we've seen a grieving parent frame their loss as a political attack against the sitting President, becoming an instant celebrity for the opposition party (e.g. Cindy Sheehan). The fact his recollection of the POTUS, VP, Sec of State's demeanor differs so wildly from that of his wife's should give us some hesitation about how fair his telling is.

That is a great article...damn, so many are asked to give so much...and others just think they are entitled to taking it all. Sad.

One of these days, we will live in a culture where money means nothing, wealth, fame and fortune do not exist...funny how we emphasize these things out of personal choice each day.
