U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., 72, was taken to the emergency room at University Medical Center in Las Vegas Friday afternoon following a traffic accident.

Nevada Highway Patrol said his caravan was involved in a six-car accident about 1:10 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15 at Sahara Avenue. Four of the cars were with Reid's caravan.

A Las Vegas police spokesman said Reid was the only person transported to the hospital, mainly for "minor rib injurie

Big wake up call for me. From now on whenever I start thinking about getting aggressive on the roads, especially when I see an Obama bumper sticker, I would hope that I will be reminded of this incident and that reminder will help me to calm down and obey the rules of the road.

His wife was in a serious accident just a few years back...this is bad mojo. I don't like this man, hopefully this will help him get his priorities together - he claims to be LDS when it suits his agenda.

I watched my ballot vote change to his name once it was printed and asked to have it striked and made them give me a revote on the spot. I had to call the SOS and voter fraud hotline - the FBI even opened a case to investigate his fraud in Nevada.

I was once driving to Vegas on I-15 and a van full of people about five cars in front of me suddenly veered into the median strip and rolled about five times. We pulled over to help. It was a family of Vietnamese tourists. Nobody was badly hurt and I never learned what happened. It seemed like every time I went on the road I'd see some kind of wreck.

The moderator team on this forum rarely deletes posts. By leaving it up, every poster who frequents WRP knew exactly why a ban was imposed. The only downside to leaving it was receiving more "report this post to a moderator" email after it had already been dealt with.

If it was offensive enough for a 2 week ban, I assumed the post was removed. Okie dokes.

On this forum, if you post something offensive, you "own" it within the community; the moderators don't clean it up for you. It's not "on" the mod team that you'll have to live with a reputation as "oh, you're the poster who wished death on a senator".

One thing in the rules is vulgarity. I got banned for getting into it with rho and saying silly things like twatmouthed because he called me asshead or something. So it become semantics on what is vulgar or crosses the line. My point is that mods are not unbiased and treat posters they dont like differently then others. Starting a thread saying i hope this person dies in a car crash, maybe ban worthy. But responding in a stupid thread about a fender bender, saying i wish he died in it, doesn't seem that bad to me. Everyone knew it was just a joke.

You're free to believe whatever you wish regarding the existence of moderator bias... however, the conclusion you reach very well could be (probably is) incorrect. The reason some posts receive moderator attention while other (perhaps similar) posts might not could be as simple as: one of the posts was reported; the other one wasn't. This is particularly true of posts in WRP.

There is a substantial precedent here on the Mane for banning those who wish death on others, whether it's suggesting that another poster commit suicide or expressing a wish to see thousands of rival fans killed or injured in a tragedy at their stadium or for a politician to have expired rather than to "just" be injured in a traffic mishap. If posters have been banned for it in the past, then it's reasonable to expect that a ban will result any time it happens.
